This is my third book to read that was written by Mary Connealy...and I LOVED it!! I first heard about her Kincaid Brides series from a friend and got the first book Out of Control from our library and devoured it in a day. I loved it so much that I wanted to read the second book, In Too Deep, but unfortunately our library didn't have it. So I bought the kindle version of book number two so I could read it. I loved it so much that I wanted to read the second book, In Too Deep, but unfortunately our library didn't have it. So I bought the kindle version of book number two so I could read it. Of course I loved it so much that when I saw the opportunity to review the third book, Over The Edge, I almost went nuts. :)

I can honestly say that this series is one of my all-time favorites! Mary Connealy just has a way of writing western novels that displays her obviously talent, and she just captures you with her books, leaving you wanting more! Over The Edge, was, in my opinion, the perfect third book to this series and I really hope that it's not the last since I don't want the story to end! Out of all three books in the series, I'd definitely say that without a doubt, Over The Edge was my favorite. Talk about a grand finale! I loved seeing more of Seth in this book and meeting Callie and the story was very well written and interesting! There was a lot of suspense, which all the Kincaid Bride books have a lot of, and I found it very hard to put down!

This book literally sucked me into the story from the first sentance! I'm serious! Take a look at the first sentance of the book and you'll see what I mean! "A bullet slammed through the door of the stagecoach, threading a needle to miss all four passengers." From that sentance on, I was hooked and fell in love with the story. I really enjoyed meeting Callie and Connor in this story and seeing what happens with Trixie and Jasper and loved how the story ended! The story-line was wonderful and I loved how all the events turned out! I also enjoyed seeing Trickie's story take place and seeing her desire a better life and workiong towards that goal. Her's was a great story showing how to turn your life around, even if you think it's too late.

One of the things I found most interesting about this story is how original it is. I have read several westerns, but never have I vome across one like this! I guess, after a while, books that are similar seem to mest in the story-line for me, but this was a story I'd never read before and loved it! I mean, you don't exactly read a story about a guy who got married, but doesn't remember it because he was so sick, and then his wife shows up after a couple months and he is a bit surprised since he doesn't really remember getting married in the first place. Oh, and Callie, she couldn't be any more original than it gets, I just hagve to point that out, even though anyone that has read the book knows exactly what I'm saying! :) Though I found her a bit to feministic for my liking, I did develope a love for that character and think the story wouldn't be near as good without her!

Due to the romance in this book, I'd probably only recommend this book to mature readers. Overall, I was very pleased with this book and would recommend it to mature ladies who like historical western fiction with lots of suspense. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.(less)

Don't ask me why the Kincaid Brides is the first series I've gotten around to reading from Mary Connealy. I know she's written about a million books by now, and that she's become an insanely popular author over the last few years. I can tell why that is so too. She is an excellent writer, story-teller, plot-producer, and theme-perfecter.

What to say about this book... well, for starters, I LOVED it!! Seriously, from the beginning pages until the end, I loved every moment!

It was great to get to read Seth's story and find out what made him the way he is. I found his wife, Callie, to be a new favorite character of mine - right along with other favorites from this series: Ethan, Seth, plus many more. :)

Mary Connealy is a new author to me who writes "Romantic Comedy with Cowboys". How's that for a tag line? Love it!

The male "hero" (Seth) in this story was very different; not your usual strong, always knowing what to do at every moment hero. I liked that especially because he wasn't written as a weak man, just someone who had and was having some very unusual happenings and was very likable. For a wild, Wild West story, Mary Connealy in Over the Edge, has caught the complete picture! A stagecoach holdup, gun-slinging gunmen, a gun-slinging woman (yes, you read that right!), ranches, cattle herding, a forgetful, crazy-acting husband, and more.

Danger has lurked for the Kincaid family ever since the two older men married the Gilliland sisters. Their father had stolen some goods from some thieves, and they would return unexpectedly to search for the goods. The author pulled in the suspense and danger at just the precise time, bringing closure to years of torment for the three older men.

The West was wild, with gunmen who ignored the rules, and not enough lawmen to control a whole lot of what happened. You took your life into your hands if you traveled that far west, but the big open skies and mountains were home to the Kincaids. Pick up Mary's book for a great adventure and learn about forgiveness, family commitment, love, trust and the end results of greed.

Over The Edge, book 3 in Mary Connealy's trilogy, The Kincaid Brides was exactly what I anticipated. A great read.

After reading book 1, Out Of Control and book 2, In Too Deep, I have been eagerly awaiting the finale to Seth Kincaid's life story. His plot line was so intriguing through the first two books and Mary did a good job of finishing up with Seth, Callie and the surprise extras - Connor and Heath.

If you've been reading the Kincaid Brides right along since book one like I have then are sure to be satisfied and happy at the ending and last book of the series with Over the Edge. I have anxiously been waiting for the book about Seth Kincaid since I was first introduced to him in the beginning of the series. Seth is a bit on the crazy side and I was curious how Mary Connealy would give him his "happily ever-after". Just like always Connealy does not disappoint and we get to continue the story in Over the Edge with Seth's wild adventures. I highly recommend that if you haven't read the first two books in the series yet that you should. It is my opinion that there is way too much going on to fully appreciate the story without knowing all the background information.

Right from the beginning of Over the Edge we get to meet Callie, Seth's wife in a very unusual and terrifying setting. The best part though is when Seth meets Callie and finds out she is his wife and he has a son he never knew. I found it a bit hilarious that Seth had no clue who she was but was just as attracted to her as ever.

When the Kincaid Bride series first came out Seth Kincaid has always intrigued me the most. He had been through some outrageously awful experiences and it turned him in to a nut! I enjoyed how God began a new work within Seth and started to shape and mold him in to a man to be proud of again. His story is a great example of how God can make something beautiful out of awful things.

My favorite part of the story is when Seth begins to remember Callie all over again. The way he describes the memories was undeniably sweet and romantic and I really felt like I was there reliving the moment with him and Callie. I also really enjoyed that although this story was focused on Seth and Callie we still had plenty of interactions with our previous favorite characters Ethan, Audra, Rafe and Julia. It was like one big family reunion that I got to be a part of.

Just like in all of Mary Connealy's books we wouldn't have a good ol' western without the danger lurking, the bad guys and a good ol' shootout!! On top of the evil, we have redemption and forgiveness, laughter and kisses galore!! Great series for any fans of Mary Connealy or fans of Christian Westerns!!

I really enjoyed the first part of this book. It started out with a shootout and Callie saved everyone in the stagecoach with a gun and a rifle. Callie is a tough young woman and has been through a lot. I really enjoyed the story until it came to the part about the cavern. I worried for a fraction of a second that I might have a hard time with having missed book two but that was not the case. I didn’t feel like all history of the previous stories were retold in this book but enough that there was a solid sense of the family that the Kindcaid brothers make up and the unusual way they seem to have in acquiring wives.

Seth Kincaid is crazy. At least that's what the first two books in the series, In Too Deep and Out of Control, led me to believe. Seth suffers memory loss and traumatic stress from prior injuries and the war, and was heavily medicated. He doesn't remember much about what happened after the war, including getting married. His wife, Callie, comes looking for him at his brothers' ranch, and refuses to forgive him until he proves he's not crazy and not going to leave again.

"Over the Edge" is the third book in "The Kincaid Brides" series by Mary Connealy. The plot was ever changing, fun, and less serious than most novels published by Bethany House. This lighter side is new for me, but I enjoyed it.

This is a rollicking adventure full of humor and drama! Connealy has penned a Western like no other. From forgotten wives to "crazy" cowboys, you won't want to put Over the Edge down.

The story of the Kincaid brothers continues in this, the third adventure in the series. Connealy does a wonderful job of weaving each brother's story together, layering the depth, emotion, and sheer hilarity of a man who's traumatized enough to forget his own wife.

This story brings us to Callie Kincaid, wife and mama to an adorable 8 month old baby boy named Connor. She's seeking out her husband whom she hasn't seen in a year. She knows he's gone and abandoned her, so she knows when she sees him, she's gonna wanna kill him. But, nearly to the town he lives in, her stage is taken over by would be robbers. As the only one there who can shoot worth a lick, she tries to kill them off. Then she sets eyes on a would be rescuer....and nearly turns her gone on him! Why? It's her good-for-nothing abandoning husband, that's why!

Seth Kincaid sets out to rescue the beautiful lady from the stage, unsure of why she's wanting to kill him though. Trouble is, he feels some sort of connection to her, but with his mind the way it is sometimes, he can't remember. Until he sees her son Connor. Then he knows that Callie must be some sort of special, because the little boy looks just like him. When he realizes that, and then finds that people are still after money his sister-in-law's deceased first husband stole, he'll do anything to protect his family. Even if it means facing the past, and proving to Callie that he didn't abandoned her....he just doesn't remember her.

With appearances from the other Kincaids, Mary Connealy did a wonderful job at another humor-filled romantic mystery! I didn't want to say goodbye, but sadly, I did have to. But, knowing that I have this book on the shelves right next to Rafe and Ethan's stories, I can go back and visit these adorably lovable brothers and their wives and kids.

I definitely recommend this 5 Book worthy novel to everyone looking for that relaxing get-a-way read. You'll laugh, cry and everything in between. Ms. Connealy's characters are filled with faith and love, and capture your heart forever. While this is the third book in a serious, it could be read as a stand alone. But, do I recommend it as a stand alone? Not if you want the full effect of the mystery and why Seth's just a little bit different than the other brothers! :-) Well done, once again, Ms. Connealy, on creating a fantastic and forever lovable novel! Can't wait to see what you bring us next!

Mary Connealy can really bring a fictitious cowboy to life. With The Kincaid Brides series she has imagined not one but three over the top hunky men to entertain us. Over the Edge is the third in the series and focuses on Seth Kincaid and his forgotten bride Callie…oh and don’t forget their son Conner, the one that Seth knows nothing about. Throw in Heath Kincaid, a fourth brother from their father’s other family, and you have the makings of a rowdy cowboy romance.

If readers are looking for a female character with spunk they need not look any further. Callie is one tough cookie. She survives the Civil War and her husband's odd disappearance and will not be broken by her husband's, Seth's, inability to remember her. Does Seth have an excuse for this abandonment? I think this is my favorite book by this author to date! While this book is the conclusion of a three book series, it totally stands alone, and while there are references to the other stories, they are not enough to make the reader loose the gist of the story.

This is the third "Brides" book for the Kincaid brothers but another brother appeared so perhaps another book? I did not have the opportunity to read the first two and it might have helped me a bit with the enjoyment of this one - there were many references to what came before and I felt a bit lost without the complete backstory.

The brothers lives and those of their families still remain at stake when a man is still looking for them, Henry Jasper Duff who he believes has his money that was stolen by Wendell Gilliland. Now Jasper has had to live on the run hiding with his wife Bea, from those that he owes a great deal of money to from his opium trades. No matter how much Bea tries to convince him to forget the money, Jasper is just bidding his time until he can corner the brothers and get back what he believes belongs to him.

I received Over The Edge compliments of Bethany House Publishers and Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review. Having read the previous two in this series, Out of Control and In Too Deep, I couldn't wait to read this one to get to know Seth Kincaid more. Having experiences PTSD from the Civil War, Seth at times has the mind of a much younger man who sees things in a much simpler format, being more spontaneous in his actions and a bit impulsive at times without thinking things through. He also suffers from horrible nightmares which Callie still remembers that border more on night terrors. I couldn't wait to see where the money has been hidden or if there is a stash of money since it has been the conflict that runs through the other two novels in the series and keeps the family's constantly looking over their shoulders for the next threat on their lives. I can easily rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and if you truly love a great Christian Western Romance with a touch of suspense added, then you will LOVE this series. (less)

When I picked up this book, I was pretty sure it would be another sappy Christian Western romance, and I figured I would have to struggle through it. I can tell you that I was wrong about that point. I feel like as I get to know the Kincaid brood better, I like them better--except I'm still not a big fan of Rafe. I enjoyed this book a lot. This is the third book in the series and focuses on the youngest brother, Seth, who is called a "locoweed" by his family members. He experiences horrific nightmares and can't always think straight. At the beginning of the book, Seth is surprised to find he has a wife (he has forgotten) and a young baby son and even a little brother that he never knew about...more

I have no idea, but I seem to remember just writing FOREVER! So I’m guessing two pages long at least.

As a new bride I marched straight out of journalism school and into the kitchen, I did a lot of scribbling. I still have those heartbreaking works of staggering genius, Ode to Roast Beef, things like that, all born out of the ‘Write What You Know’ school of literature.

I began writing more seriously when my baby went to kindergarten. Not writing well of course, but just putting words on paper. No one does anything well the first time. I’m sure Babe Ruth missed the first ball pitched to him. I’m sure Picasso smeared pages with paint-y fingers when he was a kid—as I remember he went back to that later in life. I’m sure Beethoven played the eighteenth century version of Chopsticks before went for the sonatas.

My writing journey is similar to a lot of others. Boil it down to persistence, oh, go ahead and call it stubbornness. I just kept typing away. I think the reason I did it was because I’m more or less a dunce around people—prone to sit silently when I really ought to speak up(or far worse, speak up when I ought to sit silently).

So, I have all these things, I want to say, in my head; the perfect zinger to the rude cashier, which you think of an hour after you’ve left the store, the perfect bit of wisdom when someone needs help, which doesn’t occur to you until they solve their problems themselves, the perfect guilt trip for the kids, which you don’t say because you’re not an idiot. I keep all this wit to myself, much to the relief of all who know me, and then I write all my great ideas into books. It’s therapeutic if nothing else, and more affordable than a psychiatrist.

So then a very nice, oh so nice publishing company like Barbour Heartsong comes along and says, “Hey, we’ll pay you money for this 45,000 word therapy session.” That’s as sweet as it gets.

My journey to publication is the same as everyone’s except for a few geniuses out there who make it hard for all of us. And even they probably have an Ode to Roast Beef or two in their past.(less)
