Amazing! Review on my blog: http://writingchristiannovels.blogspo...
This is my third book to read that was written by Mary Connealy...and I LOVED it!! I first heard about her Kincaid Brides series from a friend and got the first book Out of Control from our library and devoured it in a day. I loved it so much that I wanted to read the second book, In Too Deep, but unfortunately our library didn't have it. So I bought the kindle version of book number two so I could read it. Of course I loved it so much that when I saw the opportunity to review the third book, Ov...more
Don't ask me why the Kincaid Brides is the first series I've gotten around to reading from Mary Connealy. I know she's written about a million books by now, and that she's become an insanely popular author over the last few years. I can tell why that is so too. She is an excellent writer, story-teller, plot-producer, and theme-perfecter.

What to say about this book... well, for starters, I LOVED it!! Seriously, from the beginning pages until the end, I loved every moment!
It was great to get to read Seth's story and find out what made him the way he is. I found his wife, Callie, to be a new favorite character of mine - right along with other favorites from this series: Ethan, Seth, plus many more. :)

Mary Connealy is a new author to me who writes "Romantic Comedy with Cowboys". How's that for a tag line? Love it!
Over the Edge - Imagine a bone jarring stagecoach moving along the road when suddenly the horses speed up, the guys up top are yelling and thundering hooves are coming up fast... and who just happens to be the only one that can save everyone? Callie to the rescue! She's a hard, angry, sharp-shooting take charge type of gal - and she has a baby to save from the bandits attacking them...more

The male "hero" (Seth) in this story was very different; not your usual strong, always knowing what to do at every moment hero. I liked that especially because he wasn't written as a weak man, just someone who had and was having some very unusual happenings and was very likable. I enjoyed the strength that Callie brought to the story as well. I have not read the prior stories of the other brothers but since they were also included in this story; it did make me want to read about the others as we...more
Seth Kincaid found himself married after fighting in the Civil War. His spitfire of a wife, Callie, goes in search of him after he disappears from their homestead. When she finds him, she wants to wring his neck for not remembering her. Seth, on the other hand, is interested in getting to know this woman who is called his wife. He wants to rekindle the spark they once had. Will they ever make it to a place where they both want the same thing, or will their differences keep them apart?

A few months ago, I was able to read the first book in The Kincaid Brides series, Out of Control and I was really disappointed with it. The main female character in that one, Julia Gilliland, annoyed me beyond belief. I really, REALLY disliked her character. I was so disappointed by the book, especially because Mary Connealy is on of my favorite authors and has written so many fun novels in the past. That being said, I was a little nervous about reading Over the Edge. While I found it better tha...more
For a wild, Wild West story, Mary Connealy in Over the Edge, has caught the complete picture! A stagecoach holdup, gun-slinging gunmen, a gun-slinging woman (yes, you read that right!), ranches, cattle herding, a forgetful, crazy-acting husband, and more.
Mary has a real handle on the scenarios, and she makes you feel like you're right there in the middle of the action! The stagecoach holdup was phenomenal in detail, particularly with a woman gunslinger aboard. That woman being Callie Kincaid.

OVER THE EDGE by Mary Connealy is a wonderful conclusion to "The Kincaid Brides" trilogy, an inspirational historical fiction set in 1866 Colorado. Book #3 in this trilogy, but can be read as a stand alone.See," Out of Control",and "In Too Deep". Filled with danger, humor, faith, cave,Civil War aftermath, healing, forgiveness, mystery, suspense, love and a bit of romance. Over The Edge, book 3 in Mary Connealy's trilogy, The Kincaid Brides was exactly what I anticipated. A great read.
After reading book 1, Out Of Control and book 2, In Too Deep, I have been eagerly awaiting the finale to Seth Kincaid's life story. His plot line was so intriguing through the first two books and Mary did a good job of finishing up with Seth, Callie and the surprise extras - Connor and Heath.

If you've been reading the Kincaid Brides right along since book one like I have then are sure to be satisfied and happy at the ending and last book of the series with Over the Edge. I have anxiously been waiting for the book about Seth Kincaid since I was first introduced to him in the beginning of the series. Seth is a bit on the crazy side and I was curious how Mary Connealy would give him his "happily ever-after". Just like always Connealy does not disappoint and we get to continue the story...more
I really enjoyed the first part of this book. It started out with a shootout and Callie saved everyone in the stagecoach with a gun and a rifle. Callie is a tough young woman and has been through a lot. I really enjoyed the story until it came to the part about the cavern. Maybe it’s because this is the third book in the series and I haven’t read the first two, but I found the whole storyline about the cavern monotonous and I found myself skipping over parts of it. The author doesn’t really expl...more
I worried for a fraction of a second that I might have a hard time with having missed book two but that was not the case. I didn’t feel like all history of the previous stories were retold in this book but enough that there was a solid sense of the family that the Kindcaid brothers make up and the unusual way they seem to have in acquiring wives.

Seth Kincaid is crazy. At least that's what the first two books in the series, In Too Deep and Out of Control, led me to believe. Seth suffers memory loss and traumatic stress from prior injuries and the war, and was heavily medicated. He doesn't remember much about what happened after the war, including getting married. His wife, Callie, comes looking for him at his brothers' ranch, and refuses to forgive him until he proves he's not crazy and not going to leave again.

The Kincaid Brides Series Book 3
Seth Kincaid is as loony as they come. He was always reckless and after an accident in the cavern he played in as a child with brothers Rafe and Ethan….he lost himself in nightmares. Heading into the Civil War didn't do him any favors either. Back in Colorado with his brothers he receives a letter….it says he has a wife. He don’t remember her.

"Over the Edge" is the third book in "The Kincaid Brides" series by Mary Connealy. The plot was ever changing, fun, and less serious than most novels published by Bethany House. This lighter side is new for me, but I enjoyed it.
The plot centers around Callie and Seth. She comes from Texas with her little boy to find the husband that abandoned her after the end of the Civil War. She finds him, and the novel is about their journey as they learn how to live and work together again.

Over The Edge by Mary Connealy is the third book in The Kincaid Brides Series and is about Seth Kincaid and his bride Callie.
I really enjoyed meeting the Kincaid brothers, Rafe, Ethan and Seth and their wives in this book. There is plenty of humor, suspense and love to go around. Seth is the youngest of the three brothers and is mostly like to find trouble.
I didn't love Callie... Seth's wife. She is a tough Texan, who's been wronged and is holding a grudge -- against Seth! When she first finds...more

This is a rollicking adventure full of humor and drama! Connealy has penned a Western like no other. From forgotten wives to "crazy" cowboys, you won't want to put Over the Edge down.
The story of the Kincaid brothers continues in this, the third adventure in the series. Connealy does a wonderful job of weaving each brother's story together, layering the depth, emotion, and sheer hilarity of a man who's traumatized enough to forget his own wife.

Mary Connealy's conclusion to the Kincaid Brides is a fantastic one! Once again, she brings her readers to the heart of the story instantly, hooking them and holding them until the very last page, where you definitely don't want to be because it's a bittersweet moment, knowing it's the end of a wonderful trilogy! Her characters are, once again, brought to life for the reader, taking them on an adventure filled with laughs, twists, and romance.

Mary Connealy can really bring a fictitious cowboy to life. With The Kincaid Brides series she has imagined not one but three over the top hunky men to entertain us. Over the Edge is the third in the series and focuses on Seth Kincaid and his forgotten bride Callie…oh and don’t forget their son Conner, the one that Seth knows nothing about. Throw in Heath Kincaid, a fourth brother from their father’s other family, and you have the makings of a rowdy cowboy romance.

If readers are looking for a female character with spunk they need not look any further. Callie is one tough cookie. She survives the Civil War and her husband's odd disappearance and will not be broken by her husband's, Seth's, inability to remember her. Does Seth have an excuse for this abandonment? Well, he has excuses in the form of injuries. Seth has some internal/mental problems that must be dealt with before Callie can take on her threat of shooting him for leaving her. I think this is my favorite book by this author to date! While this book is the conclusion of a three book series, it totally stands alone, and while there are references to the other stories, they are not enough to make the reader loose the gist of the story.
I loved the character of Callie Kincaid, she was a tough Texan, who was determined to find the husband who deserted her, leaving her with a baby on the way. She knew he was sick and had mental issues, but hadn't realized how sick he truly...more

This is the third "Brides" book for the Kincaid brothers but another brother appeared so perhaps another book? I did not have the opportunity to read the first two and it might have helped me a bit with the enjoyment of this one - there were many references to what came before and I felt a bit lost without the complete backstory.

How can you completely forget that you're married? Or that you have a son? Well that's exactly what is happening to Seth Kincaid, the youngest of the Kincaid brothers who suddenly finds himself at the scene of a stagecoach robbery. Only Seth is the one being shot at. When more men arrive from Colorado City with the sheriff, the learn that the only occupant remaining in the stagecoach is a woman, named Callie who was defending the coach against the robbers who already shot both the driver and his...more
When I picked up this book, I was pretty sure it would be another sappy Christian Western romance, and I figured I would have to struggle through it. I can tell you that I was wrong about that point. The action drew me in from the beginning, and I was rather intrigued by the story. I only wished that the action had not been so sporadic. But it was not a sappy love story.

As the last book in the Kincaid Brides series, Over the Edge delivers on its promise to clear up the loose ends of the family of strong-willed Kincaid brothers. Seth is reckless and scarred, emotionally and physically. He was never quite right after a childhood accident, and the war only made it worse. He is a married man, but can't remember his bride, or the wedding. Callie comes from Texas after loosing her brother, father and the only home she's ever known, hoping to find the Kincaid family a...more
I feel like as I get to know the Kincaid brood better, I like them better--except I'm still not a big fan of Rafe. I enjoyed this book a lot. This is the third book in the series and focuses on the youngest brother, Seth, who is called a "locoweed" by his family members. He experiences horrific nightmares and can't always think straight. At the beginning of the book, Seth is surprised to find he has a wife (he has forgotten) and a young baby son and even a little brother that he never knew about...more

I wrote my first book when I was about twelve. A romance novel. I shudder to think what a twelve year old could know about romance. I have no idea what happened to the manuscript. I suppose my mother found it, and burned it while screaming in horror, but I’ve always been afraid to ask. Was it a hundred pages? Two? I have no idea, but I seem to remember just writing FOREVER! So I’m guessing two pag...more
