An interesting collection of stories with the voice of the Valle. This book was written in Tex Mex (Called Spanglish everywhere else, but in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas it is just how most people speak--a mix of Spanish and English with no clear distinctions), and between that and the stories that are told the reader can get a clear glimpse of what life is like in the RGV.

While reading it seemed just like I was hearing stories from valley residents. Definitely a nostalgic read for that...more
