The best laid plans...

Okay. Look. I know, I know I know I know, that this is pretty much every girl's wet dream. International megastar falling for you? Yes. Yes, I would like to win a date with Ted Hamilton, thanks for asking. It's like the stories we used to write as teenyboppers, where the lead singer of the boyband sees us in the middle of the crowd and it's love at first sight and we live happily ever after and it's corny and so implausible and I know, okay? I know.

I loved this fast moving, action packed romance.
Halli plans everything down to the minute. She takes a vacation with her sister, and brother. They convince Halli to throw away her agenda, and just live in the moment. Shortly after landing in Italy, Halli looks around to find that her brother and sister has left her. She took the time to take a video of swains swimming. When she looked up she was all alone. Movie star Trent Tomlin knows Halli is in more trouble than she can deal with, and moves

This is a story about a girl named Halli who takes a vacation of a lifetime to Italy. Once in Italy Halli's vacation becomes a nightmare, when she accidentally catches a murder on her video camera. Halli is then kidnapped by a famous movie star named Trent Tomlin, who claims to be saving her life. Together the duo is thrown into an action packed adventure. I am completely amazed by this book. Just imagine that you and your favorite move star crush have a chance encounter, which launches the two ...more

"Lost in Italy" is the story of how ordinary tourist Halli Sanders gets mixed up in the middle of a murder and is narrowly rescued by international movie star Trent Tomlin, whose brother was killed by the same organized crime thugs. Halli is now their target, because she inadvertently caught the murderer on video while filming swans on Lake Como.

The author, Stacey Joy Netzel, does a good job of putting the reader in Italy and uses the setting to nice effect. Halli and Trent both have interestin

LOST IN ITALY is full of action and adventure. The story holds the reader’s attention from page one to the very end. It is packed full of excitement and contains numerous twists and turns. The main characters are well developed and you can’t help but grow to love them as they strive to stay alive and rescue the heroine’s brother. I will definitely read more from this author.

Halli Sanders goes on a once in a life time trip to Italy with her brother and sister. She is a bit anal and wants to follow her itinerary but her siblings say no that she needs to lighten up. They stop so she can film the geese on Lake Como. She accidentally films a murder and then gets accidentally left by her brother and sister.

Trent Tomlin is a famous movie star who is in Italy trying to get the people that murdered his brother. The guy that Halli filmed getting murdered was his friend that

For More Reviews:

Lost in Italy by Stacey Joy Netzel was my first book to review for World Literary Cafe. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, and I picked a book that I thought would be relatively safe for me to start down this new avenue of networking not only for the author, but for myself as a new book review blogger. I mean, who wants to start something like this with a whopper of a bad book? I’m really happy with my choice this month, and am alr

LOST IN ITALY is a fast-paced romantic suspense in the tradition of Mary Stewart, only updated. There is the exotic location, the fish-out-of-water, woman-in-jeopardy, and the unexpected hero with secrets of his own that may make him appear less than heroic. Trent Tomlin is an A-list actor in action films, but his life in Italy has taken a sudden life-imitating-art turn with the death of his brother and his decision to investigate. Suddenly he is embroiled in a thriller with guns, fast cars, and ...more

Italian Dream Vacation

If you've ever been in a foreign country and had the slightest moment of unease about your location or an awareness of a stranger who makes you uneasy, you'll understand the premise of this book.

If you have an imagination, you'll understand that kind of "OMG moment" even if you've never found yourself alone on a side street in Firenze, followed by a couple of men who look like what the locals call gypsies. Makes me shudder just remembering that little incident.

Don’t you just love it when the first book of a series has you itching to buy the second? And the third? Lost in Italy is that kind of book. With likeable, believable characters who find themselves in extremely extraordinary circumstances, this is my favorite Stacey Joy Netzel book to date.

The suspense is riveting, but the characters make this book. I particularly enjoyed the motivation and thoughts underlying Trent’s

Halli Sanders has no idea how her mundane world is about to be turned upside down--both physically and emotionally. In LOST IN ITALY, Stacey Joy Netzel has managed to fuse two genres into one fast-paced story--thriller and romance. No doubt this is a fun and entertaining read. From the get go the story grabs you--not only with action and plot twists but with the well drawn out characters. Both Halli and her movie star cohort Trent Tomlin create the kind of sexual tension you're used to seeing in ...more

I don't think there are enough great things I can say about this book. It took me about 3 days to read it and that is only because I work 2 jobs. I immediately fell in love the 2 main characters of the book. I would hold my breath at times and even find myself laughing out loud when they would do something. The author did an amazing job of making me believe that I was their with the characters throughout the whole book.

The one thing I will say is some parts where the characters were fighting did

Halliwell Sanders, a producer from a small town in Wisconsin is just plain ole Halli, that’s how she feels about herself that is. Halli, Ben and Rachel, her brother and sister hail from parents that were con artists and in prison from a con gone badly. The three kids have grown up and made better of themselves and are moving on with their lives.

They plan the trip of a life time; they’re going to beautiful romantic Italy. Even though Halli likes a structured planned out life they embark on the ad

You know a book is good when it keeps you up reading until 4am! It's fast paced and gripping, and I just couldn't put it down! The villain of the piece is worthy of any Bond film, and indeed you can picture the car chases and daring escapes as if you are watching them on a screen.

The relationship between Trent and Halli is adorable - I literally felt like hugging my kindle at certain moments! Thrown together by circumstance, they live compl

Recommends it for: Anyone who likes romantic suspense
I really loved this book! Lots of action, suspense and romance. Great combination! Definitely made me want to go to Italy and find my own adventure -- of course without all the shooting. :-) The characters were very well developed. The chemistry between Trent and Hallie was hot. Loved the secondary characters as well, especially Hallie's brother and Eva. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I loved Lost in Italy. Stacey Joy Netzel takes her memorable characters and the reader on a wild ride, with plenty of unexpected twists. I rushed through the book, needing to know what happened, and was both satisfied and sad when I finished it. I highly recommend it, and look forward to reading the rest of her books. I know one thing - I will sit down with a cast of well-drawn characters that I can't wait to fall in love with.

Wow! What a great action packed romance. Our heroine leaves the USA on a once in a lifetime trip with her brother and sister, to beautiful Italy. Upon arrival, their relaxing, informative holiday, takes an unexpected turn and becomes the basis of "what movies are made of", caught up in the middle of a complex crime scene, leaving her separated from her siblings. She inadvertently meets the star of her favorite movie series, not to mention her fantasies, as he "kidnaps" her and together, they for ...more

Great romance, great mystery. I tend to shy away from true romantic suspense because I lean much more toward suspense, but Stacey has a talent for blending the two together without going over the top. Loved the main characters and love the back and forth between them. Definitely recommend to all lovers of suspense, mystery, or romance:)

Exciting and intriguing read!!

An entertaining read by Ms. Stacey. The first thing I would really like to mention is the wonderful style of writing by the author. I enjoyed her writing and the characters she has created. I know, the story is completely fictional and unrealistic - romance between a movie star and an ordinary girl but, the author made the situations in the book so believable, you would really love it. The ending, the fairy tale one, was sweet , was kind of one that makes your heart

I loved this book! My attention was captured from the very start. The two main characters are entertaining to read about. I don't remember any dull moments in this story. Everything is not what you think.
Heaving bosoms aside (I'm quite confident that phrase wasn't actually in the book, but ykwim), the characters were interesting, and the plot was fast-paced and had a good twist.

Lost In Italy was a fast paced roller-coaster ride. I fell in love with the characters. The tension between Halli and Trent throughout keeps the story rolling. A very fun read.

I expected more action and adventure than romance, but this book dishes them out in fairly equal measure. Romance is not my favorite, especially of the damsels in distress being rescued by gorgeous rich men variety, but I understand their appeal.

If you want to escape into a daydream and believe that famous actors - voted sexiest man alive four times! - fall head over heels in love with average women, you will love this book. Or, if the famous part isn't important, but you love the idea of a hunk

I wanted Italy served to me on five different plates that were filled with delicious twists, nutritious angles and substance without fillers. What I read was a nice romance story. This is one powerful read, as action packed a thriller as ever you’ll come across. Halli from Wisconsin, absorbed in filming the swans on Lake Como in Italy (more or less as soon as she arrives), is accidentally abandoned by her siblings and left all alone. Then, before she’s quite got her bearings, a Hollywood actor, Trent Tomlin, shows up and er….kidnaps her. Y

Halli has finally made it to Italy, after a long-planned vacation. She is obsessive about planning all details, much to the dismay of her brother and sister. Things quickly go awry, and Halli is left altering plan after plan when the truly villainous baddies realize she's seen something she shouldn't.
