The mother-daughter writing duo has done it again. Collecting Innocents, the second book in the 911 Abduction series is even better than the first one. They had big shoes to fill and they've managed to come up with an even more thrilling and can't-put-it-down story.
In the first book Cruelty to Innocents, kids are kidnapped from an emergency scene while their caregivers are busy helping others. In consequence of these abductions the Saving Angels Agency was created by Sloanne and h More...

3,5 stars.
Compared to the first book, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with Collecting Innocents. It wasn’t that it was bad, but at times it was just a bit slow and I felt myself wanting to skim certain parts. I think this bothered me the most just because it actually was a quite short read and I rarely get to the point of wanting to skim those, since they’re just too short to get there. It was also a bit too repetitive; I definitely get the need for a second in a series More...

Once again, Webb and Weaver have shown their skill and prowess at developing a suspenseful and thrilling novel. This mother/daughter duo have managed to captivate their readers by thickening the plot when necessary with many twists and turns in order to keep them on their toes. I was riveted to the page as I read Collecting Innocents and you will be too. It drew me back over and over again as I was eager to discover the threads from the past and how they would link up to the present crime. Webb

Imagine if you will- there is nothing more scarier than to be broken down on a highway out in the middle of nowhere, with your small child in your back seat. You call 911 from a roadside call box but someone else is listening in to the call...and before long- your worst nightmare becomes very real. You're abducted and your child goes missing. In Collecting Innocents this pattern is repeated over and over again. The gruesome murders pile up along with a list of abducted children.

Absolutely wonderful! These ladies had big shoes to fill after writing book one, Cruelty to Innocents. I mean seriously, Cruelty was such a fantastic read I really had no idea how they would continue on with the characters and the story line that would be as good as Cruelty was. But, they did it! I loved how the main characters such as Sloanne, Birney, Shawn, Chloe, were brought back and how far they had come since the mayhem in book one. I felt like I was catching up with an old friend as I wa

Let me just say quickly, that even though this is the second book in the series, it read very well as a stand alone. Be warned - there is a good chance that you will want to go back and read the first book, Cruelty to Innocents, when you are done!
I enjoyed getting to know Sloanne and Shawn, the founders of Saving Angels and learning about the work that they did in finding abducted children. They worked well together with Birney and Mac, and even though they tended to "str More...
