First question: how loud was that door? Trent is inside his apartment having a party MC can hear the music and stuff but Trent still heard the door open even though MC never closed the door, that has to be one loud door.

i really liked this with the MC and his friend Mike i thought they would be the couple since their relationship was more developed and i liked them together but MC ends up with Trent who we don't get to know at all and no relationship is developed. they have known each other two...more

This short story has its hits and misses, for me personally.

The hits? Well, the main character (1st person narrator) is so adorable, though he acts like dork sometimes ^_^. Plus he has a cat named Oreo, how cute is that?!? My favorite quip from Brian would be (he was talking about ice cream) ...

"My favorite was vanilla, the kind with bean bits in it, but after that sexy growl I couldn’t do potentially boring. I wanted tie-me-to-the-bed-and-fuck-me-sideways exotic ice cream. I supposed...more

Nice Christmas short bringing joy to a man who experienced some recent tragedies.

Brian deserves to find some joy and love because he loses his home and everything but his kitten and a photo album to a fire the day before Christmas Eve after recently losing his mother to illness. Many of his friends had written him off in the year and a half he dedicated to help...more

This short story starts on a bit of a depressing note. Brian’s apartment has burned, and he’s managed to escape with only his kitten Oreo and a singed photo album, all he has left of his mother who recently passed. However, his best friend Mike jumps in to help and offers his apartment, although he’ll be gone to visit family. Trent, Mike’s oh-so-perfect neighbour, in Brian’s opinion, offers to help any way he can.

While this could have been a r...more

I love, love this story..mind you, I'm not very font of insta-love, but, this story was so perfect for me that I didn't mind at all.
It was sad, funny, cute, just lovely.
I was laughing out loud when Brian was so worry about the cat Oreo watching them making love, it was just too cute.

Life has been rough lately for Brian Bailey. He recently lost his mother after devoting his life to caring for her for a year, and now his apartment has burned down days before Christmas. Luckily his best friend Mike takes him in and offers up his apartment while Mike is away for the holidays. When Brian meets Mike's hunky neighbor Trent Stuart, things start to look up. Over the past year things have been pretty dry for Brian as he cared...more

Sweet and funny Christmas short, with a little bit of sad sprinkled in. Some parts were laugh out loud funny. Mike, the best friend, was so much fun - I hope the author writes a story about him as well (and lets us know how Trent and Brian are doing!).

Awwwwwwwe. As if Brian and Mike weren't cute enough, there is a kitten! My favorite character really was Mike - Brian's best friend. I hope we can have a good story about him. Brian has had a terrible time with taking care of his dying mother and then his apartment burns! He only saves his kitten and one photo album. And Mike is leaving the next day to visit his family in Arkansas. Trent, Mike's totally hot neighbor is there for Brian when Trent leaves. Of course Trent is Brian's perfect type. N...more

Do you love Christmas? Do you love romantic love stories? You should read this one. It is a lovely story about a sweet young man who NEED a happy Christmas... And he got it! Beside his best friend, he has mischievous Oreo who gives him a hand (paw) with the hunk next door... What else can he ask for? ;)
I won this book and An Angel Gets His Wings! Thanks, Missy! Love both stories and it was just what I need to read right now. Happy Holidays!

This was cute and funny and sometimes very sad and sweet. Brian has lost everything. His mother just passed, his apartment just burned down and he and his kitten Oreo made out of the fire uninjured but a little scorched.

Brian's best friend Mike (who is ADORABLE!) brings him home and offers him a place to stay and recharge while Mike has to go out of town for the holidays.

New neighbour across the hall, Trent, is a sympathetic ear and a hot body. I liked this one quite a bit. Off to read Mike's s...more

This was a really cute little story which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love all the seasonal shorts we get during the Christmas season, and this was one of the best this year. Brian was adorable, and Trent was pretty fine ;) The friendship between Mike and Brian was just lovely - it really made me smile. Is it bad, though, that I'm pretty sure Oreo was my favourite character? What a cutie!

I really enjoyed Brian's POV. I liked how he saw potential with Trent and didn't just go for the intsa-love. Even though he had great chemistry with Mike (and here's hoping Mike's story comes along at some point) I appreciated that they each knew what they liked and wanted and were able to be great friends without any UST clouding up the works.

Those walls at Mike's apartment must have really been paper thin. You could hear everything that happened in another room.

This was a good short story but i felt Brian and Mike's relationship was a lot more closer than anything with Trent, who got lucky just by being Mike's neighbour.

My favourite from this book was Oreo the cat - compassion, strategy and voyeurism. Interesting cat.

Very sweet hurt/comfort story of Brian, who's lost So much, and his amazing friend Mike (I'd love to read more of him, he's adorable), who conspires to give Brian a merry Christmas. Oreo, Brian's kitten, is a star. I wish it had been longer, this would have been a lovely longer book. It was the kind of Christmas book I love.

Gotta read a book with a pet named Oreo:) Good character naming!!!

I loved it, but it was too short and it ended too soon. The attraction between men was palpable. It's a wonder Brian wasn't more shattered by all his loses. I enjoyed how he faced everything with good humor. We don't get to know Trent much, but he was kind, gentle and just right for Brian. And hot! I wanted more Oreo and Mike! I hope we get the sequel or Mike's story (with Brian and Trent as supporting characters).

A sweet little Christmas story about someone who has given up or lost almost everything being brought out of his shell by good friends and a kitten. There's a companion book too, which I need to get hold of.

Cute and "furry" hurt-comfort story that ended rather abruptly.

Romance has always been the main theme of her writing, even when she was twelve and concocting little tales for her friends. She grew up watching tough-guy action movies with her dad and stealing her mom’s romance novels, so it seemed perfectly normal to pair up the two and see what happened. As long as there are men being brave and falling love, Missy plans to fantasize about them— Um, she means...more
