I didn't realize until after I actually looked at the cover of this book that this author was someone I'd actually read before. She wrote a bunch of scary teen books that I read when I was younger. That being said...this book was not as scary as I remember her others being, but it was still spooky enough to fit my Halloween mood. However, the main character here, Miranda, was so incredibly obnoxious and did not change or evolve at all through the course of the novel. Some of the stuff that happe...more

WALK OF THE SPIRITS, in a whole...
-is written in a very clear, direct manner.
-has the air and feel of historical romance although it is set in the present.
-is haunting and intriguing in the most part.
-involves a past tragedy that finds its way into the present..and into the lives of the characters.
-plays with a few slightly overused ideas-girl with something inherited
from ancestor, ability to talk to ghosts, et cetra.

This one was so interesting that I even had my friends and family reading it. I love the prospect of this girl being able to sense the past and how ghosts are situated in everything. I truly hope that maybe someday, this can become a series because of how amazing the idea was. It was also interesting the struggles that she seemed to go through. One thing though. Not every main character has to run away! Stop following the English Plot Summery!! It gets boring after a couple centuries

I like this book, it's not amazing but it's good. I like that its not crazy romantic and it's kept PG. The history and the story behind Nathan and Miss Elena caught my interest and I had to keep reading. I didn't actually pick this book out, it was given as a gift but if I saw it in a book store, I can tell you I probably wouldn't have picked it up. I can't help but judge a book by its cover. BUT if I saw it at the library I probably would have taken it out :)

I think what I loved the most about this book was the great relationships Miranda's new friends had. They were different from each other. I never would have imagined a dark, goth-like girl hanging out with a cheerful cheerleader & the school's star football player. (Although there's a good reason why the dark chick & the cheerleader hang out.) And even though they teased each other all the time, they cared about each other a lot. (Parker & Roo were just hilarious, and Gage was too cute! X3)

I really liked this book! I loved the spark Miranda and her friends had. I liked the fact that it wasn't one of those books were the main character is an outcast, not that there is anything wrong with those books, but Walk of the Spirits was in it's own way refreshing.
The plot and writing kept me very much intrigued and while there were slow spots, I didn't mind the pace.
A lot of funny moments and creepy ones as well.
All in all a real decent read! Can't wait to read the sequel!...more

Normally, I'm not really into ghost stories, but I liked this one so much! Loved the setting- - go Louisiana!- - and thought it was the perfect setting, what with the marsh and the rain and the humidity. It was ended well, I thought, no loose ends. The plot was interesting, kept me hooked. Worth reading.

I guess I would this book a four star because you didn't know what was going to happen next. It was very mysterious, also. I probably would recommend this to people who like to be suprised when they read something and also, who like horror/gothic books. People who like reading about ghosts would most likely enjoy this book.

As soon as I finished reading I checked to see when the sequel would be coming out. For anyone who likes to read about the paranormal should give this a go.

Nicely written. You just keep turning pages until your done. I felt she could have left out the romance bit, or expanded on it. What was already in there I felt was just too little. Otherwise, it was a really good read.
