In The Start Up, twin siblings Amelia and Adam Dory start a business from Amelias invention of an iPhone app that controls things such as your garage, TV, and radio. Adam is the business head, while Amelia is solely involved in furthering the invention. Also included in the story is T.J Bristol, a Silicon Valley prince whose main goal is to become CEO, no matter the cost; Patty, who had a one-night makeout session with her future brother-in-law, but he still wants to continue it. Together, these

A serial novel is an interesting concept, and Sadie Hayes The Start-Up picks an ideal topic for ebook serial fiction, with genius programmer Amelia Dorey persuaded by her more worldly twin brother Adam to turn programs into dollars.
The Anti-Social Network is the second episode in the series, a novella with enough length and depth to provide enjoyable reading. The author does a good job of creating and following a single story arc within the longer tale, and Amelia and Adam’s lives cros More...

I've been reading so many wonderful books lately, and this one just adds to the list. I literaly read it in like 2 hours, and totally ignored my entire family for the duration. Just as good as the first, Or maybe even better, I was not disappointed. Not one bit. the plot was totally all over the place, and i was completely caught up. and the cliff hanger ending was like extreme! the only bad thing about ebooks is that More...

I loved this novella! ...What I particularly enjoyed was the balance between the descriptions of Amelia's program and the start-up itself and the more personal issues Amelia and Adam are dealing with, particularly in the second book when both twins have love interested and their former foster family comes back to haunt them. Talk about juicy drama.
I particularly loved Amelia's character. She's smart - both street smart and technically smart. She's got the most common sense out of e More...

After lapping up the first instalment in the series I could not wait to get stuck into the Anti-Social Network.
The Anti-Social Network is shorter than The Start-Up but is even more addictive. I flew through the pages of this one because there was just so much going on that kept me reading.
I find it so amazing that when one conflict gets resolved another one comes up and I find myself getting so deeply immersed in the story. I love Adam and Amelia and I really want things to work ou More...

Original Post: My Book Diaries
From the very first page, it brings you right back into the drama and excitement of all that's happening in silicon valley. Tons of things are happening and it's so fun to read about.
We get to see a lot more happen with Amelia's app. This book is seriously just as amazing as the first. Still has that easy-to-read quality.
If you've read the first book, you definitely need to buy this one as well. If you haven't read the first book More...

Truly fun, enjoyable and angsty, the Anti-Social Network jumps right on board with The Start-Up as a serial story that packs an electronic punch. Silicon Valley is the heart of money and greed and the Dorey Twins are doing whatever they can to survive, but some things from their past and present are trying their best to knock them off their feet and onto their backs with their feet left twitching.
Thankfully, Amelia and Adam are stronger than people give them credit for. With Amelia's More...

The Anti-Social Network is the second book of the The Start-up series by Sadie Hayes, and like its predecessor, it's full of drama, romance, mystery and a lot of technology.
The book starts almost in the same place where the first book ended, maybe some months later, and I must say that you won't put it down until you finish it... because it's awesome.
As expected many of the questions that the author left unanswered in the first book, are clarified. Who are the mysterious peo More...

These stories had it all; great characters, amazing setting, originality, and an overall awesome plot.
The Start-Up and The Anti-Social Network follow the lives of Adam and Amelia Dory, twins going to Stanford University on scholarships. These two are close, having been tossed from foster home to foster home.
There are other characters, too. Such as T.J. and Lisa Bristol, billionaire siblings, and their father, Ted. Another character is Patty, Amelia’s roommate.

THE ANTI-SOCIAL NETWORK by Sadie Hayes is the second installment of Sadie Hayes new novella series, the first one is fast paced and fun, and the second one does not disapoint disappoint I was impressed with the continuation of this new and original story.
I dove right into Sadie Hayes' new novella. It is so easy to fall in to love with the characters and the unique situation the Dory twins are immersed in. I felt in this one I was able to get to know the characters much better and I co More...

**3.5 stars
***Combined review of The Start-Up and The Anti-Social Network.***
Since these both are short novellas I thought I might just combine the reviews together. Basically this is about two siblings in college who are trying to make it big in the world while still living the normal college life. I liked Adam and Amelia they were independent and somewhat driven. They came from very hard backgrounds; foster homes and never having much money to do and buy things. When they get the s More...

There is no turning back for Adam and Amelia after this episode. The siblings are thrust deeper into the cut throat world of Silicon Valley when they join a tech incubator. New characters are added and previous characters are further developed. The twists start coming fast and furious both in their business and personal lives and with this series what goes around comes around.
There were a few story lines that I was unsure of how they fit together. Since this is a series of novellas I'm sur More...
