What can I say. Another well written and enjoyable Zuri Day book. I like Day's style of writing. Of the few books I've read, her heroes and heroines are great complements to each other. They flow together well. The love scenes are always passionate. Her books never fail to draw you in. I love that Day writes about plus size women in a flattering way. Too many times we're relegated to being the harsh, antagonistic side kick with no love interests.

LOVE IN PLAY is my first read by author Zuri Day. What I liked is the fact that Zuri's main character, Dominique Clark, is a full figure chick, an editor in chief at Capricious, a magazine devoted to REAL size women. Also a single mom, with a dead beat ex-husband and a couple of lousy ex-boyfriends, Dominique is devoted to her son and career. While giving her all to them, she rarely considers what she may be in need of.

This was my first read by Zuri Day. I loved the story.
A single yet strong willed mother is living large and in charge, literally. Dominique is a tall, thick in the right places "big boned" sistah that lives for her successful job and her 11 year old son. After a divorce from her son's father and being hurt from a live in boyfriend that took advantage of by stealing money for exchange for love, Dominique has given up on love and vowed to not bring another man into her son's life.

This is my fourth novel by Zuri Day. I've read Lessons From A Younger Lover, Lovin' Blue, and Body By Night. I usually will finish a Kindle book within 2 days. This one I kept putting down after each chapter to play Every Word.
I did not feel the chemistry between Dominique and Big Mac. I was not rooting for them. The sex scenes were pretty much "fade to black." The couple really didn't spend any time getting to know each other. It was all just sex at his place and the description of the sex scen...more

I really like Love in Play, but I felt like it needed another conflict, that wasn't so easily solved. The main issues were dealt with pretty quick. I at least thought Justin's father would have been more of a problem with some drama but no. His father was basically described as an emotionally deadbeat dad, although he paid child support, whose wife was part of the problem. But Dominick called him and then Nick spent Thanksgiving with his dad and everything was great.

I thought this was a good story. Jake and Dominique had really good chemistry, and the love scenes were very passionate. The flow of the story was good, and although time was passing by quickly you really didn't feel it because the author did a good job of making it seamless. While I liked the story I didn't love it. It just seemed like something was missing to me. I have enjoyed Zuri Day's previous works so I will continue to support.

An enjoyable read. A curvaceous and relatable protagonist, Dominique Clark, who’s a single-mother, and a career woman juggling it all. Now, the only thing she doesn’t have is the love of a good man, but that’s soon to change when her son’s football coach Jake enters the picture.

Dang, dang, dang, and double dang, Dominique Clark and Jake McDonald are one hot couple. Being a plus size lady did not stand in Dom's way of being sexy, and being a single parent to her son was her greatest pleasure.

This is one of the best books ever written. I love this book so much because the main charcter is a full-figured woman like me and I can relate to this book more.

Zuri Day is a hopeful romantic. She believes in happy endings, half-full glasses and dreams coming true. That's why she's thrilled to be a contributing writer to this genre...one of her favorites!
