Arthur and the Minimoys (Arthur #1)
Arthur's grandfather disappeared four years ago. All he left behind are his notebooks full of stories about little -- known African tribesincluding the Minimoys, a miniature people who are all less than one inch tall.

The plot is good. It tells about the existing struggle/war of a tiny tribe: the Minimoys against a villain who wants to dominate them. Arthur is their hero, who like the legendary Arthur also succeeds in pulling out a mysterious sword of a stone.
There is also a movie made of this story.
It was a good read and it will be lots of fun to read out loud someday. It is one in a series, and ended on something of a cliff hanger. Not so much of a cliff hanger that I am impatient to get to the library for the next installment, but enough of on that I will check out book 2 as soon as I am near the lib...more
However if you like audio books grab Arthur & the Invisibles. It's narrated by Jim Dale and is very entertaining.
I'm going to blame it on the fact that because Besson is French his characters have extreme emotional value. I mean, when the characters worry for each other, you worry about the characters.
It was good enough so that I'll continue on to the sequel...eventually.
I like the minimoys. They are easy as children,in a world where complications are the order of the day..we need to be more minimoys.
Do you want to get married? Just kiss your true love and that's made!
I just have to say, DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK FROM THE MOVIE!
At least not the american cut, the american cut of the film was choppy and edited out ESSENTIAL parts of the plot and was just plain silly.
BAD BAD BAD movie adaptation, awesome, fun books
I am, however getting a little more of the romance that was edited out of the American version of the movie. It's a fun read. I recommend it.
Adorei as comparações do Luc Besson. É de rir!
