I thought this was an excellent look at what the mission of the church is supposed to be. The current hot topic seems to be all about social justice and tackling the injustices of society such as human trafficking, the poor and downtrodden. The authors take us back to the Bible to see what Jesus said the mission of the church is supposed to be. They look at Scripture's take on social justice and the commands that Jesus gave His disciples before returning to Heaven.

Very helpful book in terms of thinking biblically about what the church, as a constituted entity, as distinct from groups of Christians, should be focused on. The authors looked a lot of scriptures relating to the topics of justice in the Bible & made their points from scripture. One of the most helpful take-aways: every can is not a should, every opportunity is not an ought. great readable technical treatment and application of several NT and OT key mission texts. Very driven toward declarative great commission focus. Last chapter was an enjoyable fiction interaction between a new church planter and a seasoned inner-city pastor.
