i couldnt finish this although i had to write a respose for it. i now know that i am not a big fan of austin clarke and will mostlikely run in the opposite direction when i come across one of his books. i cant say reading this was completly useless because i actually learned alot of stuff about immigration and the experiance of what moving to Canada in the early days was like. i also enjoyed the language. however, i also cant say i was expecting too much from this book and after giving it a try...more
