I'm not a HUGE fan of the Dora books, but there are some things I like about them. This book was a little tonally weird, and it really bothers me how they are so obviously adaptations from the tv series instead of wholly standing on their own as stories. However, M answered a couple of the "courtesy" questions appropriately, and she LOVES Dora, so from a kid's perspective this is probably a five-star book.
This is a wonderful book to read to a young pre-k or kindergartener. The troll has bad luck getting to where he needs to go without using kind words. Dora books are so dramatic, but this one really animates an important message really well. The book talks about saying things like please, thank you, and I am sorry.
