I read all of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books as a child. Judge me as you will, but there has to be some reason for the continuing popularity of that series. I think Richard Ardizzone encapsulates it here in PLOT MUSIC; basically there's a world of adventure out there to explore, go out and live it!
Not a troll, wizard or vampire in sight, PLOT MUSIC is a treat for all those readers who enjoy exciting and good old-fashioned storytelling.
This is still good but You can tell Plot Music is one of Richard Ardizzones earlier works. The story is fun and exciting but lacks the pace and characterization of later novels, which I read first. I still recommend Plot Music cos its interesting to see what an author was doing before they went on to better things like Hawkfasts
