Recommends it for: people who love food and cook from scratch
The recipes are showpieces, best for impressing at an elaborate dinner party or a romantic dinner. But the real value of this book is the encyclopedic nature, describing everything you need to know in detailed chapters on grains, beans, stone fruits, tropical fruits, shellfish, poultry, and every other category of food you can think of. How to choose, store, and cook everything, plus some stellar, elaborate recipes to sweeten the deal.
