This book has raised the inevitable question. Do I need to make a new shelf? Although there were only two people in the relationship, Lauren and Xairn, there is his extra cock to consider, do I make a new shelf for those heroes so well endowned that just one cock won't cut it? And what do I call it if I do? I am thinkng two-cock-delight or double-banana-surprise...

But despite the horrible shelf dilemma it has caused I LOVED this book,...more

Wow~! Best Kindred! I loved the angst and romantic tension offered in this book. LOVE THE LENGTH! Anderson continues to introduce new characters and intrigue through sub-plots that are super-enjoyable. I can't wait until she writes books 5&6! I'm a big sci-fi/paranormal fan and this author includes all that's fun with that: world-building, warring, protection, good vs. evil, it's all there in a book for $3. She's RUINED me for more expensive books! Nice.

Lauren is the long-lost cousin of Liv...more

I have to say Evangeline Anderson should have subtitled this book the Periles of Pauline (or Lauren as it were)....Once again Evangeline Anderson has "Found" another hit in her slightly wacky, sci-fi/futuristic erotic romance series. As a self admitted non-fan of futuristic novels, I was very pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this series is. It contains the requisite hot, alpha male hero(es) and strong, feisty heroine. The relationship between Lauren Jakes and Xairn is intense, at times sapp...more

Once again, Anderson changes the formula just enough to keep things interesting. It's nice to see a role reversal between the male and female character motivations. And we are treated to another entirely different setting in the Kindred universe.

The scourge don't have a proper home world for us to explore and unlike the previous forced courtships, our male and female do actually want to be together. So this books comes off as more of a traditional space adventure tale than the previous three. In...more

Well... did I or did I not say I thought I really liked Xairn? Mmhm. Yep. I sure did. And Xairn with overwhelming dominant tendencies AND a puppy dog? ZOMG I DIE OF LUST. I'm still sitting firmly in the Sylvan camp ('cause DAMN), but I think Xairn is tied with Deep, easy peasy (I guess I go for the moody types huh?).

I really enjoyed this book (in case you haven't read my reviews of the previous three in this series, I really enjoyed those too :p). Again with the perfect blend of plot, romance a...more

Found was suppose to be the story that just made my heart melt. The plot and characters had the potential to be an awesome read to rival the last three books. The possibilities alone had me foaming at the mouth to get my hands on it, I had to have it. Well let me tell you, I would have rather not have found out that there was a fourth book if I had known it was going to be like this. I've always been a fan of Anderson's dirty mind. The first three Kindred books were all nail bitters with the cha...more

Found is book # 4 of the Bride of the Kindred Series. And so far it has been the hottest of all 4 books. I am a sucker for stories like this, filled with conflict, bad guys, kick ass heroes, smart heroines and hot aliens.

I like Found more than the first 3 books because it is the one that has showed more struggles, more conflicts, and more action. I was intrigued by Xairn from the moment his character was introduced in the series. His dark nature, his struggles and conflicts made him one of the m...more

Evangeline Anderson hits it out of the park again. While the concept of these alien races is somewhat difficult to swallow, especially Xairn's particular race, she makes it intriguing and takes you past the fear and allows you not only to fall in love with the man, but with the woman as well. The characters are well drawn out and well delivered. You can relate to their fears and their desires and although, at times, it's difficult to picture the setting I love these books.

Xairn & Lauren had...more

Hummmmmm..... Where to start. I love Lauren, I love Xairn. I think he had just enough of tortured past, pain, scared emotion to fit the formula of the book. Lauren, absolutely the perfect h for him. BUTTTT, I don't care how strong of a woman you are. When you are abducted, almost abducted again, mind fucked by the AllFather, cloned and on and on and on how can you not be a little jacked up. That, is the only fault I could find in Lauren.

Now that I have been on a Kindred binder I am a little bot...more

This novel had a 3 star rating and my goodwill despite some genuine flaws in the quality until I read the book's last paragraph. I hate shocking, surprising, out-of-nowhere soap-operesque cliffhanger endings. It just feels like a gimmick intended to force me to read the next book and I would buy/read the next book anyways because I'm pretty fond of this series.

"Found" was a tough book for me to rate because there were things I genuinely liked about it, but it also contained elements that either...more

Lauren and Xairn's chemistry is positively electric. I really grew to love Xairn as I got to know him throughout the series, and felt deeply for his plight. Lauren also grew on me after a surprisingly short time and I found myself rooting for her campaign to win over/save the male she loves.

Xairn's determined fight to rise above his race's gene-deep need for cruelty is as touching as it is engaging. As always, thwarting the twisted machinations of the vile perverted AllFather is an uphill strugg...more

Overall: I LOVED all the action that took place in this book and this different galaxy we got to visit. This story really touch me and had me even crying in certain parts. lol

Characters: Xairn The sexy not so bad guy & the loveable baker Lauren

I know it shouldn't matter in a book like this but...

1) A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. This may be forgiveable as the character who makes this mistake (more than once) is non-human.
2) The nearest galaxy to us is 2.5 million light-years distant. So having someone be '100 light years away in a whole different galaxy' is not right. Not even when they later amend it to hundreds of thousands of light years away. Of course, maybe I just have to forgive this with the assumption that the char...more

I enjoyed this book, but it felt a bit forced. It followed the same formula (minus the whole home planet exploration bit) as the first 3, but whereas the first 3 flowed nicely, this one did not. The story was interesting and engaging, but the editing has gotten sloppy. I kept finding small, annoying errors. Normally I don't have such an issue with these, but they were all over this book.
All in all, though, I enjoyed this book, but I hope that this isn't a sign of things to come for this series....more

This is my favorite book of the Kindred Brides series. Lauren is my favorite Bride. It's not often that a black woman is featured in a paranormal romance. This one is done very well. I like Lauren, she has spunk, just like Kat from the 3rd book. Xairn has been around for a few books now and we finally get to know him. He had a terrible father and childhood but he gets his "happy, happy, joy, joy" on with Lauren. I won't give any spoilers, I will just say that I loved this book. I will also add t...more

This was one of my favourite so far, it's tells the story of Xairn, the evil 'allfathers' son. Xairn a product of a gruesome upbringing, finds love when his father kidnaps a girl, whom he wants to start the new 'scourge' race with, a prophesy awaited.
Xairns love for Lauren gives him the strength to fight his father. There really is a great sci fi plot in these books, not to mention a wonderful surprise with each unavailing of a new male race. Where do Evangelines ideas come from? Who cares, I lo...more

Ok ladies, what can't you understand about this statement "Don't leave the shuttle it's dangerous outside of the shuttle in this part of the market". Of course, that means, please leave the moment I leave. And, please allow strangers into the shuttle. You are from Earth so of course everyone you met is going to be a nice sentient alien only interested in benign conversation with you. You should not fear people/aliens you have never met because they would never want to harm you. They all follow S...more

Lauren and Xairn, who escaped from the evil AllFather in the last book, are in a desperate flight for their life and they must get their DNA changed so the AllFather can't get to them. They have feelings for each other, but Xairn doesn't want to hurt Lauren, which he is afraid he'll do because of his Scourge nature.

I enjoyed the fact that in this book, the man is the one who is reluctant, rather than the woman. I do continue to have issues with how the sex scenes are portrayed (it's almost like...more

It seems that Evangeline Anderson likes to write annoying female characters. The heroine went dumb after she was rescued. TSTL moment actually made me want her to suffer physical harm - she got off to easy. And she kept pushing the hero for a physical relationship when he specifically told her he wasn't used to affection and that touching her made he feel certain emotions that she wasn't ready or open to. Still, this was a decent read with a lot going on (confronting the evil that had been build...more

Dec 30, 2012 Celia rated it 3 of 5 stars Recommends it for: lovers of hot books, males and aliens <3
It's 3.5 stars (I don't feel the book is adequate for 4 stars).

Pros:
- The book is about hot aliens and Anderson succeeded in making me feel it ;)
- The characters were likable for me.
- A lot of things happen, not boring.

Cons:
- There isn't a good or memorable plot.
- It's another easy cheesy sexy novel and series (I like the smexy, but why is quality a missing adjective?)
... well the last con has so many cons adding to the book, so I'll stop.

BUT very entertaining. I'm looking forward to more fun en...more

i liked this book, but as a fault of my own had become so caught up with the other characters i'd grown to love that i liked this one a little less. it was still a great book don't get me wrong, but i have a special place in my heart for sylvan and sophie. just like the other three in the series, this book was well written and had rounded characters. gotta say, i love the bdsm play and the continuation of ms. anderson's in your face language. i love that each book in the series also has appearan...more

I have to say I am happy I stuck with the series. The last three have been ok but this one I really liked! Xairn is a great character he knows he loves Lauren but the conflict he has is with loving himself first. That means accepting that he wont hurt Lauren when they are together bonding. Lauren I thick is a strong character who goes through many harsh thing but accepts it and grows as a better person. It did take a long time for them to be together b/c Xairn didn't trust himself b...more

I think I broke my own record with this book, because it took me waaaaaay too long to read this. I mean, I read Atlas Shrugged quicker than this one!! There are, of course, reasons that it took me so long. For one, I'm an accountant, and we're closing our fiscal year right now. Which means I literally LIVE at work. For another, it's Christmastime, which means I've been out spending money like the baller I'm not and enjoying time with my friends and family. HOWEVER, if I was really really into th...more

Another great book to add to this series.
I have said in earlier reviews that I love Xairn, and this book just made me love him even more.

The book starts with Xairn and Lauren arriving at the planet, where they can get their DNA changed. This will stop the All Father from being able to track them down.
The planet Oah is creepy as hell, filled with violence and sexual slavery. The people there cut off women's fingers and use them to make clones, to sell. *shudders*

Lauren lands herself in some...more

I'm a big fan of this series so biased. Another enjoyable story this time following the story of Lauren and Xairn, son of the very evil AllFather, both of whom are Scourge not Kindred but the enemy of human and Kindred alike. Xairn is ready to rebel against evil and his controlling abusive father by taking Lauren away from the AllFather who'd previously kidnapped her to mate with and thereby fulfil his power controlling prophesy of a resurgent Scourge dynasty under his control.
What you get is a...more

For some reason, I really enjoyed Found. If you read my reviews of the other books, I was pretty unforgiving. I still am, but I found the dynamic between the two main characters, Lauren and Xairn, to be much more pleasant than what the author has written in her prior books. The fact that Lauren was upfront about her desire for Xairn and a relationship with him from the beginning was super refreshing, in comparison to prior books where the heroines are ridiculously and annoyingly reluctant (and f...more

Sometimes less is more, that's how I felt about 'Found'. There was just so much that scenes felt like they drag on. Another reason why I gave this two stars was because the character Olivia and Sophia, who I loved in book one and two, were so annoying in this book I had to skim there chapters and I never cared for Kats character so she just made it worse. I just feel that the series started off so great has lost its way. I love the worlds they visited but I feel the story line is the same for ea...more

Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for...more

“This one is called "Chunky Munky".' Nadia stopped with the spoon halfway to her mouth. 'But isn´t a monkey a small chattering Earth creature that lives in trees?' she asked faintly. 'Are ... are you telling me I´m eating chunks of its flesh?'
'Ugh.' Sophia shivered. 'What a thought! The poor monkeys!'
Nadia felt ill. 'Is that why this stuff is called 'I Scream?' Because the animal screams when they make it into dessert?”
