Maybe I missed the point of this one but the way the book was written made me want to throw it against the wall.

Nearly every instance there's a dialogue exchange between characters, it's broken up far too much with actions- and that's not just dialogue. When characters are reading letters, the same thing applies. Since when did putting a new speaker on a new line do anybody harm, anyway? Imagine reading this several, several times:

"This book", he typed, "goes something", with an exasperated sig
