I have mixed feelings about this book. I read it a decade ago, maybe even more. As a child I loved this series, and I continued to love it even into my teens. Now that I am older I can't help but notice some flaws and wonder how I was not confused as a child.
In the first installment of the T*witches series, Cam and Alex are twins who were separated at birth and run into each other at an amusement park. After a tragedy, Alex moves in with Cam and together they solve "The Case of the Missing Pop...more

The only reason I gave this book three stars instead of two was because of the excellent way the book sets up the series. The dialogue seemed fake/dated and some of the characters are very annoying. However, the plot is interesting and, like I said, the authors do a great job of setting up the series without it being overwhelming or taking away from the story.
P.S. There are two Disney channel original movies based on the book. DON'T watch them if you like the series. When I say 'based on', I mea...more

Twins and Witches! What could be better? Well except the fact that their destinies are intertwined for a greater purpose in another world where they were born in and only by working together can they defeat the darkness that threatens to consume it all. Yeah, that’s a lot of pressure for a pair of twins who have actually been separated at birth only to find each other in their teenage years. Camryn and Alex are exact opposites but for some reason they make the perfect sisters in this thrilling n...more

Okay, before I even being my review, I'd like to point something out that nobody seems to understand. The title of this series is not TWITCHES, it is T - WITCHES, as in TEE-WITCHES, as in twin witches. And for those who don't agree, I would like to quote Alex at the end of the first book:
"'I'm not sure whether you're thinking 'Twins.' Or 'Witches.' 'Cause it came out 'T'Witches.'"
Not, "'Cause it came out Twitches.'" I never even watched the stupid Disney adaptions simply on the principle they mi...more

One of my favorite series when I was in middle school... though I remember reading them again a few years ago and not being quite so impressed. Still, the first book in particular is a lot of fun... Cam and Alex are two very cool witches (or t*witches), and I liked how they progress from enemies to reluctant sisters to best friends and two halves of one whole. The witch mythology is very intriguing, and the bad guy is SO bad... Now I want to reread them!

If one could summarize my childhood, especially my teen years, it would have the t*witches series along side the Darren Shan (Cirque Du Freak) saga, and Harry Potter.
While dated, t*witches was a series from the late 1990's about twin's, separated at birth, reunited in their early teens.
This series had a heavy influence on my growing up, especially as I identified with Alex/Artemis so much. She, like many others falling under the Goddess' name are why I chose the name as a nickname growing up.

This book is about Camryn and Alexander also known by Artemis and Apolla. Who are twins seperated at birth ,but they end up meeting each other and find out there whole life as been a lie and they are not exactly normal. They are in there words Twitches teen witches. If you watch disney channel you will know the movie Twitches which is loosely based on this book. The book was okay not my favorite by far.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to reading more in the series - this is book 1. A good YA paranormal series, no sex or foul language. If I had to compare it to any series I'd say it's along the lines of Marley Gibson's Ghost Huntress series. My 11 year old daughter didn't care for it too much; she wouldn't tell me why.
This is pretty decent middle-grade fiction. The story was not particularly original but it was well plotted with no gaping plot-holes or contrived coincidences.
The writing style was in good English but a little uninspired though my favourite quote was:
"If he were any dumber, he'd have to be watered twice a week"
A fun, easy middle grade read. Good but not great.

Even as a kid I thought this series would have been better if it weren't for the constant use of over-the-top and unrealistic teen slang. Most of the characters had an over-exaggerated valley girl speech pattern which might have made sense given where they lived, but was mostly annoying and distracting.

This is the first in a series of books about twin witches who are young and powerful but separated at birth. They meet and their powers get unleashed. It is a great series for young readers because it deals with real emotions about adoption and loyalty. It also deals with the influence of a person's upbringing on their perspectives about life. This series wouldn't be on my shelf because it doesn't have a realistic connection to school but I would definitely recommend this book to young readers w...more
I like the book much more than the movie. It has an edge to that's missing in the movie, which is overly cutesy.
