Wild Man had a different vibe to its predecessor Mystery Man but I've gotta say that I really, really enjoyed it. And no, not simply because it's another KA. It really touched me with its subtlety and I loved how it had such focus on Brock and Tess (H/h) and the solidity of their relationship. It also had lovely use of light and shade, there were cute kids in it (KA does GREAT kid) and when the characters spoke to each other it really meant something.

Picked this up again now that I have a few other KA's under my belt. Reading this on the heels of Sweet Dreams just wasn't fair (the cast of characters are very similar).
So, onward...
3.5 stars for Wild Man.
Recommendation right off the top: I believe you will enjoy this book most if you read it before Sweet Dreams and after Mystery Man. Neither of which I did. If I had, I bet I would have given it a higher rating.

I gotta say, this is my favorite book so far of KA. After reading Mystery Man which was just ok for me mainly because I didn't like Gwen, I was leery to read this story. I am happy to say I am so glad I have read it.
I loved that Brock and Tess were older. These two really were perfect together more so than any couple I've read before. After a rocky start and I gotta say I didn't much like Brock at the beginning, they were rock solid. They always had each others back and never wavered f...more

I’m moving to Colorado. Being a Brit, I’m not entirely sure I know where it is exactly. Up from Texas, in the middle, left a bit?? What I liked:
1. Tess owning a bakery.
2. Brock.
3. Brock and Tess's relationship. It was cheesy but beautiful.
What I disliked:
1. The beginning was slow and it took me nearly 40% to truly get into the story.
2. Brock acting like every other hero of KA's with very few distinguishing characteristics.
3. Tessa being a curvy blonde in her forties. Brunettes and redheads in their twenties or early thirties clearly don't exist in KAland.

Welp, it's like taking a drug. A very bad for you drug. And you're mad at yourself the entire time for being weak.

Getting back to this particular book...it's got a more tempered hero than the last few. He didn't have to "force" her into a relationship as in other books. In fact, the relationship in this one started so very quickly and smoothly that there was no tension in the book at all. At least, regarding the two MCs. None. It was an "in the life of"...more

Thinking Tess will be one of my fav lead females from Kristen Ashley. She’s equal parts strength and sweetness and when the going gets really rough she gets her power back and is impressive as she comes out kicking and screaming. Romantic drama here at its finest. Brock/Slim and Tess’s relationship holds strong and rides the wave of ups and downs through all that life throws their way, a mountain of family relationship issues and a twist of suspense. I love Wild Man. For the moment, Slim is my favorite KA hero. Now that will probably change when I visit Tanner, Tate, Tack, or well any KA hero. Well here goes....
Tess is a freaking amazing heroine. She is my all time, hands down, winner for heroine of my heart winner. She is sweet, sassy, and so so so loving. Tess was married to an asshat. When I say that, I mean ASSHAT! She had to live through a life of shit to get to her dream man.

Loved this story. It took me a little longer to get into this story than it did with "Mystery Man", but I definitely got there. Kristen Ashley's gift is that you get pulled in and when you do it's so unique to each book and that's because each book has characters who are unique, with unique problems and circumstances.
Tess & Brock as characters are really special, and you feel it from Tess right away and with Brock it takes a little longer but when you get it, You. Get. It. Unlike many of KA'...more

The second book in the Dream Man series by Kristen Ashley. A great story and wonderful characters, Wild Man is Brock Lucas and Tess O'Hara's story. Brock met Tess while on an undercover op to get information on her and her possible involvement in her ex-husband's illegal activities. Somehow, Tess is able to forgive his involvement and they begin a new relationship. I have the same issues I have with the other books, editing, language and 1st person POV but other than that a solid read. It's not...more

4.5 This was another great book in the Dream Man series. At first I was afraid it was going to be a lot like the first one, the Hero, not the story, but several chapters in, Brock was his own man and I fell in love with him. Brock and Tess are another great couple I truly connected with. They dealt with a lot of crap on both sides but KA did an excellent job of bring it all around for a fantastic HEA. AGAIN, the supporting characters were a huge plus, and Elvira is one of the funniest characters...more

When she finally escapes though, her horrible night turns into a hellish one when she sees the man she has been dating for four months and thinks she might just be in love with with his DEA badge and realizes he has been playing her.

Not a lot of action but I enjoyed the couple. Both were in their forties which I could relate to and it was a nice change of pace. I could definitely appreciate their no games no bs attitude with regard to life and their relationship.
This was a good story with a fucking great epilogue!
While I admit I liked the first in the Dream Man series a lot better than WM - just because WM started a little too slow for me - this book does hold its own. Especially with the drama... a lot of heavy drama.

I was really excited to read this book. The glimpse that you get of Brock in Mystery Man was enough to spark my interest in him. I thought it started out really good. Brock and Tess already having strong feelings for each other, but then you find out Brock is not actually who he says he is. It was an exciting beginning.

This was such a wonderfull read :) Although in the Dream Man series this one always comes last whenever there are comparisons, after reading it again, I really don't know why, it was just incredible! I think I liked it more now than when I first read it.

Smokin' hot bad for you Brock had me at the 1st kitchen scene. WOW was it intense. Another great book by KA. Did not disappoint. Brock is up front with what he wants and to the point. Loving KA descriptions "Brock informed me in a deep, sexy, sleepy, rough whisper"

Tess and Brock have a incredibly sweet love story, and I love both of them. My reasoning behind the three star is their age. For some this probably doesn't take away from the story, but it is difficult for me to relate to people twenty years older than me. I did my best to pretend they were younger. So my only complaint is one of a personal nature and has nothing to do with the writing or book itself. I thouroughly enjoyed Wild Man, and fell in love with Brock. Tess is a wonderful down to earth character who doesn't play games. She makes this book beautiful because of this. To me this book is all DRAMA and not a lot of action. And there is not one thing wrong with that it just made this book seem a lot different than a lot of KA books. I enjoyed watching Tess and Brock's relationship play out, and how she gets along with his boys. Like all KA books this one is funny and exciting but it also made me cry a lot. This is my fourth Kristen Ashley book and while the previous three did not rock my world and I am far from being a KA convert, I understood the hype and totally got why people devour her work. The previous ones I read had this Mary Calmes hint to it that I know firsthand is hard to say no to.
