Sallie Lundy-Frommer builds mystery from page one. She paints a realistic portrait of a less ordinary life. Yesterday's Daughter uses well placed inner voice to convey a heart felt story. This love story wrapped in a romance for romance lovers. It is well written for it's audience and has a particular allure in that genre. It is truly well suited for anyone that has a longing in their hearts for something a little different.

I was contacted by Tribute Books to participate in a Blog Tour for "Yesterday's Daughter". I definitely couldn't pass it up. I'm always up for reading a book from a new author who I have never read from.
From the minute I picked up the book, I knew it was not like any other book I've read before. Sallie Lundy-Frommer takes you into a Paranormal World where Vampires are destined to have "Life Mates". They also feed from each other to sustain the best nutrients...not from humans. ***Spoiler Alert*...more

Yesterday’s Daughter – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat; Think With Your Taste Buds; A Book and A Dish

Grace stared at the large stranger who filled her small apartment with his mammoth presence and suddenly felt very warm. She shook her head from side to side trying to dislodge the chaos that his words brought about. She couldn’t have heard him correctly. Had he said that he knew her parents? She didn’t have any parents. She was an orphan; that was the only thing she kne...more

COVER LOVE!!! I loved this cover from the 1st time I saw it, but I avoided the book in the beginning because I've had my fill of Vampire Love Stories. I'd like to say, you can't judge a book by it's cover, in this case you can't judge a book by the synopsis on the cover. I was blown away at how good this book was! The characters are well versed and the story well written, you will be captivated from the start. Fast paced and action packed you will not be able to put this book down until there ar...more

I really and truly wanted to love this book. When I read the synopsis of Yesterday’s Daughter I was instantly intrigued, however I have to be honest in saying that, for me, the story fell short of my expectations.

Grace is a young woman who has always felt different. She has a lingering doubt that she is anything like anyone else. For one, years ago, Grace made the discovery that the sun was a severe danger to h...more

Yesterdays Daughter is a vampire story with a difference. We don’t have the all knowing confident mind reading male with sparkles or ‘shit kickers’, instead we have the unsure timid female who isolates herself and doesn’t know what she is. This all changes on the day she meets her soul mate Malachi. He has been looking for her for years even though everyone believed she was dead and thought he should give up his search. Malachi now has to teach Grace all about her destiny and about the dangers o...more

My review of Yesterday's Daughter by Sallie Lundy-Frommer

rating 5*****

This book was provided free from the author in exchange for honest literary review.

Grace can't tolerate the sun. Even the slightest exposure leaves her with first degree burns on her skin. Next, her diet is way abnormal -- she prefers bagged blood to human food. Lastly, she lives in isolation in fear that if any of her secrets are ever found out she will be locked away in a mental asylum forever.
Malachi has searched the earth...more

I really enjoyed this book. It was a little confusing in the very beginning, when it would go to another character's point of view/story, since there was no indication (symbol) that it was changing. I did have to re-read a few paragraphs's in the beginning but once you get into the book and the author's writing style, you don't notice it as much.

The world that Sallie creates in this story was one that I really wish that I could be a part of. She created a Vampire, that was unlike any I have eve...more

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have read a lot of vampire stories lately, and although they are all different in their own ways and I have enjoyed most of them immensely there is just something about Yesterday's Daughter that makes me want to re-read it immediately.

Unlike most vampire stories you do not find yourself with a strong, confident, all powerful, super being at the start of the story, instead you have Grace, this attractive woman who has escaped from her life...more

This may have spoilers.

I truly enjoyed reading Yesterday's Daughter, there was action, comedy, suspense, and of course love. There were good guys and bad guys. Though the title did throw me off a bit on what the book was about I have nothing negative to say about it.
The cover looks great I love the eyes that are on it.

First off I have to say that the cover of this book is absolutely stunning. And guess what? So is the book!

From reading the blurb, I thought to myself “oh geez, not another vampire love story”. Surprise, surprise! It is another vampire story, but not just any vampire story. It’s a unique tale with a different set of vampires which breaks away from the norm and takes the reader into a wonderful new world with an unusual culture and set of rules, unlike any other vampire novel I’ve read in the pas...more

The review of "YESTERDAY'S DAUGHTER" by SALLIE LUNDY-FROMMER. The characters in the beginning of the book appear at random and can cause confusion in the reader, thus may leading the reader to re-read previous paragraphs. In addition, there were no smooth transition between scene changes, as evidenced by the author talking about Grace working in the morgue and the next paragraph speaking about Malachi meeting in the crater with the other Guardians.

However, about halfway through he book the chara...more

Yesterday’s Daughter by Sallie Lundy-Frommer is a fabulous paranormal romance novel; I have to say that this book was a real surprise. She created a world where I as reader would love to be a part of.

Grace Stone is a young woman who was found as a small girl with no memories of her family, so she grew up in foster homes. She discovered at an early age that she was different from other girl’s her age, so at age seventeen she got out on her own and made her own living and put herself to college. S...more

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review by the author. I loved this book, because it is something new about vampires and other creatures of the night. So if your a big fan of vampire books; you will love this book as I did. This book has romance, mystery, and action what more can you want in a book right? I love the main characters Malachi and Sapphira. But what made me love this book was how the Sapphira became a very strong character. When you start reading it you won't want to...more

A really amazing vampire romance. It has a little of everything in it action, comedy, romance, betrayel, friendship, and a family feud as well :D Hehe I really need to figure out where all these, hot, strong, vampire men hide out at. I don't blame the girl for falling for him instantly, he's so sweet, hot, and I think I may need to stop this review now, lol. Taking from her family at a young age and left in the care of humans, losing all of her memories of her childhood does not help her neither....more

I have to say, that, I was so disappointed in this book..when I first started to read it, I thought wow, this is going to be good, but, ver early in the book, I knew it wasn't what I excepted. The story line was pretty copied from BDB, or tired to copy it, just changed up the names and situations....the build up for the couple to get together..which lasted to last couple of chapters, was awful..skipped right over it..infact..doesn't touch on sex pretty much at all.have you have read a Vampire bo...more

This novel has an interesting concept of vampires living alongside of humans while having a complete and separate society. Malachi’s world is a bit complicated and difficult for the reader to understand and the descriptions take away from the story a little at times, but overall, the story is very enjoyable and interesting. I really liked Grace most of all. She is a strong and independent woman who overcomes much in her life and is determined to find happiness.

This is a refreshing style of a paranormal romance story. I loved uncovering all the secrets and betrayals, and really enjoyed the author's style of writing. She really draws you in and makes it hard to put the book down.

At first, I thought, "Not another vampire story..." but the beautiful writing sucked me in. The author switches between different POVs, giving the books it's own unique, creative brand of storytelling.

I received this book on a read to review basis.

The story is well rounded, with a bit of everything – romance, friendship, action, comedy, betrayal and suspense. The characters back stories are explained as the story moves on and you find yourself quickly getting drawn into the world of vampires.

Can I say WOW and I am so in love with Malachi, I fell in love with these characters Grace/Sapphira and her relationship with him transfers you into a whole other world of Vampirism. She has survived abuse from the Foster care she lived in, bettered herself and had a very satisfying life until Malachi enters her world she thought it was enough. A refreshing new take on vampires. The story was unique and I loved it. The vampires had so many differences you never knew what to expect they could do. Malachi and Sapphira were just wonderful together. He spent decades trying to find her while she spent that whole time trying to figure out who she was. Once Malachi finds her he tells her where she's from and that they are life mates. There's traitors in the midst and action packed fighting. There's so many twists and turns you never know what...more

First off, I would like to say that I love the cover! It completely captures Grace's image as described in the book! I have read a lot of vampire romance novels, but I can honestly say that this is one of the best ones I've read this year!

Grace Stone is a loner by choice. She is a very caring person, but she holds herself aloof from her colleagues at work. I felt she had an air of vulnerability about her, but as I read further, I found she had a steel core. She has a very strong ch...more

Review of Yesterday’s Daughter by Sallie Lundy-Frommer
4 Stars

Not quite sure what to expect of this novel, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The author takes a somewhat different view of vampires, and sets them (and their hunters) in a contemporary society which could easily pass for our own reality. What is unusual and different in this case is that these particular vampires are a species, sometimes solitary, sometimes living among humankind; have a religion (monotheistic at that), have a pri...more

Immediately I am curious about Grace, who believes and acts as if she is a vampire. But, if it wasn’t for this strange fact becoming known right at the beginning, I am not sure if I would feel engaged in the story. I know that the beginning is the time to lay the foundation, but there is a lot of showing and not telling . I was slow to catch the rhythm of the voice of the writer. For me, at first, I was turned off by the amount of words it took to say something. But do not for one second be mis...more

What is there to say about this book and it's wonderful and creative Author? Quite simply, They are both AMAZING! The story line really helps you dive right into the world of Sapphira. Sally truly takes you for a ride on the emotional roller coaster that is Yesterday's Daughter! Sapphira starts off a lonely young woman, no social life, no friendships outside of work just her and her private apartment. That is until.... I guess you will just have to read to find out! This book does not disappoint...more
