My name is Susannah Simon, and I am a mediator - a liaison between the living and the dead. If you think this gets in the way of my attempts at a normal sixteen-year-old life, you'd be right. You try going to the mall while constantly being accosted by the undead.

Not that this is a bad thing all the time. Like, for example, when I discovered that my bedroom is haunted by J...more

I'm a BIG fan of The Mediator series, no that there's this fifth book to the collection, I really needed to read this.

The realtionship between Suze and Jesse is one of a kind, mainly because he's a ghost. But, she thinks he doesn't feel the same way. He rarely speaks to her, nobody can see him except her and paul.

Paul's a mediator too (someone who can see and communicate with ghosts). He's one of the bad guys and yeah he likes Suze too! When he kisses her, she actually kisses him back! I was thi...more

This series is something of a guilty pleasure to me.
I hate it. The writing is awful- the grammar is something I can't even begin to criticize and do any justice to just how annoying it is.
The first person perspective is that of a girl who is sixteen... and likes to believe that she's nothing like the sluts and popular-crowd-girls, when in fact, she is exactly like them.
The main character makes me want to hit something, hit something really, really hard.

But.

It's quite funny, really, in places, an...more

The best one so far (haven't read #6 yet). These books are very light, but good fun. I must admit, setting the books so close together time-wise (They all take place in the same year until book #5) means that our heroine doesn't, shall we say, grow as a person quite as much as one might like considering the number of dramatic experiences she's had. It gets quite old reading about Suze, and several of the people she knows, attempting to solve problems by punching them.
And if Meg Cabot writes the...more

Seri kelima dari seri The Mediator.

Meg Cabot...more

wow! akhirnyaaaa....

udah nunggu dari buku pertama kemunculan hubungan romance jesse-susannah, akhirnya di buku 5 baru deh kelihatan.. keren jg nih jesse aksi cemburunya, walaupun dia jelas-jelas hidup dan matinya di abad 19.

lanjutan dr buku 4, ttg kemunculan Paul, seorang mediator lagi. nah cuma si Paul ini tipe mediator yg agak beda dari Susannah dan pastor dominic. dijelasin deh klo trnyata gak cuma mediator yg ada, tetapi juga para "pengelana". nah, apa sih pengelana ini? gara2 susannah penas...more

In this book Haunted, i find it very interesting. The author makes the scenes very realistic and those are one of the things i like about this book. This book reminds me of both of my previous books, Crime Beat and The Baby sitter 3. These books all start off with a story an end with a solution. I chose this book because i am interested in the genre mystery. I like to read about a books that will keep the suspense and want me to know what would happen next. In Haunted, there were chapters I've...more

This was a pretty good book. You have Suze Simon, 16-year-old girl who's really a Mediator, meaning she can communicate with the deceased and help them to their final resting place. In addition to that, she has Jesse, the ghost of a nineteen-year-old Latino who died in the nineteenth century, and, for some reason, is unable to cross over to the afterlife, living in her bedroom. Well, as luck would have it, Suze and Jesse fall in love(yep, a living girl and a dead guy), but there's someone stand...more

Sixteen year old Suze sees dead people which really complicates the life of sixteen year transplanted Brooklynite still adjusting to life in Carmel California. Summer is over and she's started back at the small private Catholic High School. The previous book ended with her kissing Jesse, the 150 year old ghost haunting her house. Then he disappeared and she hadn't seen him since.

Back at school, she finds out that the rather creepy hottie from her summer vacation is now enrolled in his school. He...more

I really enjoy this series. It is very much an easy-reading series - not a whole lot of deep thought needed, but enjoyable. Suze, the main character, is a teenage girl and, refreshingly, speaks and behaves very much as a teenager would. The series, written well before the Twilight books were published, contains everything needed for a fun, romantic read: unrequited love, in the form of the ghost Jesse, kick-butt ghostbusting, and plenty of humor.

In Haunted, Meg Cabot continues to expand the real...more

These books are really too engrossing. I can't put them down. I have to say that this was probably my favorite book, but mostly because of the plot development. I can't even begin to imagine how this will all end... and I am a book away from finding out. Unfortunately, I will not be starting that right now... Tomorrow maybe. Exciting highlights of the book? The fight scene most definitely. That got way out of hand. The secret that was revealed near the end was a particular shocker too. There wer...more

This lovestory just gets longer and longer... But decpite my annoyence with Jesse and his inability to speak his mind, I really liked this book! It started up something fresh and exciting and gave the series a twist. I do wonder however how little Jake (Jack?) Pauls brother is doing with his mediator skills... I would have wanted to know more about that. But you cant have it all.

The character Susannah has really grown on me. She is funny, brave, strong and... cool (it that too geeky to write?) A...more

Suze finds herself torn between Jesse and Paul. Jesse the one hundred fifty year old ghost when she can't help herself falling in love with and Paul who is a seventeen year old boy whom she fears to be with but can't stay away from, afraid that he might send Jesse to the great beyond for the second time. Suze has to find a way to keep Jesse away from danger; keeping him away from Paul's reach. In doing do, she puts herself in danger from Paul's love for her.

My Quick Update:

1. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!! Jesse and Suze are officially together!! At least, they both love each other. And they got their long kiss.

2. PAUL AND JESSE FIGHT IT OUT! I admit, I was waiting for that to happen for, like, EVER!! And it goes PERFECTLY!!!

3. Again, YAY MORE JESSE ACTION!!!!

4. We learn more about mediators, which is always cool. Apparently, Suze is different from even normal (if you can say that) mediators - she's a shifter, who can...more

The book was interesting, but sadly I haven't read the first 4 books. But I caught up with the plot of the story quite quickly.
I think the theme of the whole book overall is : Choices are difficult, because Susannah couldn't make up her mind on either she should she choose to learn about herself as a mediator from a boy she does not like. Or should she stay with what she already know about being a mediator and not discover what she really is. In the text it states " All the nightmares about lon...more

This book was a departure from the norm in the series in that the ghost mediating took a back seat to the interpersonal relationship development. Okay, it was a lot of drama.

Still, because it was Suze telling the story, it was fun. The girl has a gift with sarcasm. Besides, what's not to love about plot twists coming about from trying to wear Jimmy Choo mules that aren't broken in? There were several interesting turns of events from that, the least of which was Jesse's desire to put butter on h...more

I have really enjoyed this series and I have every intention of finishing the last book, however, this book just didn't do it for me. I know a lot was revealed about 'what' Suze is and what all she can do that she was unaware of, that part was great. I just got sick of hearing about Jesse. Good gracious me, that was ALL she thought, talked, whined, moped and pondered over. Jesse, Jesse, Jesse, ect. Why doesn't he like me? What did I do? How could I kiss someone else and like it when I love Jesse...more

Meg. Cabot. Is. AWESOME!!!! XD
I'm on book 5 of The Mediator and I'm still hooked to the series.
A combo of romance and a tint of thriller, The Mediator is about... a mediator! Susannah Simon, age 16, a teenage girl going to the Juniperro Serra Catholic Academy. She's not just a teenage girl, though. she can see ghosts. Until a few months ago, she hated being a mediator. She had to kick ghost butt and 'cause a whole lot of trouble, when really she was protecting herself. But now? Jesse, the hot...more

I think that this was an interesting installment. There were very little mediator events, which I appreciated. The book mostly concentrated on Jesse, Suze and Paul's love triangle. I was expecting another cliche mediator event to happen, but Meg Cabot surprised me and didn't go down the lane. Instead, all we had in this book was a love triangle. Surprisingly, it was enough for me. I didn't find myself too bored. While trying to remember what was in the previous 200 pages of the book, I can't see...more

Susannah Simon discovers she is a mediator between the dead and the living. She can see, talk to and even kiss dead people, preferably hot young men. In fact she has an 18th century hottie, Jesse, haunting her room. But if having real ghosts haunt wasn't enough, she has a real guy, Paul, haunting her life. Apparently he has the same gift she does and desires to teach her more about it. Eventually giving in to Paul's beckoning, Suze soon realizes that that's not all that Paul wants to teach her....more

I loved this one!! I was heartbroken when Jesse went to the rectory, but oh did my heart flutter at the end - woooo!!! Nice twist too with "Grandpa Slater".

I agree, the fight chapter was hillarious!!! I love that CeeCee realized finally who Jesse is. And I love how she is willing to let Suze explain it all in time. What a great friend!!

Di akhir cerita buku empat sudah jelas, Suze pergi ke dunia lain untuk jemput Jesse, tapi siapa sangka Paul Slater, kakaknya si Jack bisa ada di sana juga.

Well itu menyebabkan tanda tanya besar buat Suze.

Kedua si Suze nya cengeng akh, Jesse memutuskan untuk...more

What a disappointment. I guess after three good books and one pretty good one in a series, the series can sometimes peter out. Suze, our butt-kicking ghost mediator, turns lovesick in this book. All she can think about, even in the heat of the moment when her life is in danger, is how much she's in love with Jesse, the man she can't have because he's dead and haunting her bedroom.

But then there's Paul, the mysterious hottie who recently transferred to Suze's school. They met in the last book, he...more

A very disappointing read. At first I thought this book would be awesome - since Cabot has some great books. However, whenever the plot would become interesting or even a little compelling - Cabot changed the plotline to be a strange romance. I felt like this book was book 2 in a series and I missed some information. (Which in fact I had)
Susanna is a mediator and can communicate with the dead, but she is also in love with a ghost named Jesse. There is also Paul, another mediator, who wants to be...more

Librarian note: AKA Jenny Carroll (1-800-Where-R-You series), AKA Patricia Cabot (historical romance novels).

Meg Cabot was born on February 1, 1967, during the Chinese astrological year of the Fire Horse, a notoriously unlucky sign. Fortunately she grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where few people were aware of the stigma of being a fire horse -- at least until Meg became a teenager, when she flun...more
