Taken at Dusk was terrible from beginning to end just like its predecessors, but it showed itsy-bitsy signs of improvement. Kylie is still a terrible person and a poor character and the plot barely has any idea what it's doing, yet it's a start.
So the positives: there was something driving the plot of the novel at least half the time. The disappearance of Kylie...more

I was back to sitting on the fence when Derek came back but then the unbearably romantic flower scene happened:
I’d kill for you, Kylie Galen. But more than that, I’d die for you.”She felt a tear roll down her cheek. “You’d better not die on me, Lucas Parker.”
yup I'm back to being team Lucas! xD
I really like how the plot is such a mystery and when you're on the kindle version you read the last page and then say, 'wait that's it?' because the plot keeps you glued to the pages so much. I am gett...more

CAUTION: Long Review, Spoilers
Taken At Dusk is book 3 of the Shadow Falls series, a series that is named after the summer camp turned school for supernatural adolescents. At least I thought Shadow Falls was supposed to be a school beginning in book 2. However, it turned out at 83% in book 3 Shadow Falls was "getting the camp ready to become a full-blown school." What?!
All this time Kylie was going to a camp, not a school. Fine. Then where were the camp activities in book 3 that supposed to have...more

I am in so in love with all these covers. They're so beautiful. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book!! :)

This series always seems to somehow entrap me in its pages. I read Taken At Dusk in a matter of hours and I loved every moment of it.
We are back at Shadow Falls and Kylie is still trying to process everything that has happened to her with the vampires. Things are never quiet for Kylie though, soon a women who cannot seem to remember who she is, is stalking Kylie and bringing a grave...more

I was so excited when I finally was able to read this book early, and as always, CC Hunter never fails to amaze me with her story-telling, I just loved this series. And I liked the new characters and mystery she added that has kept me more interested. So the story deals with Kylie, who is trying to figure out what she really is and trying to fit where she really belong in this new world she found. Kylie seemed to grow more through out the story which is really real...more

More Lucas please and can't wait to find out what Kylie really is... *4/23/12* Wow after finding out what Kylie is now I'm dying to know what's next for her. Plus Kylie being the "special" supernatural creature she is (I'm not giving it away for those of you who are planning to read it) I want to know more about what she really can do... What exactly is her powers? Loved that there was a lot of Lucas in this book :D Kylie finding out what she is at the end of this book makes me VERY eager to rea...more
Taken at Dusk is a wonderful continuation of the Shadow Falls series by C.C. Hunter. Kylie deals with another ghost that has a creepy message for her. This particular ghost has amnesia and needs Kylie's help figuring out who she is. Meanwhile, Kylie is getting closer to figuring out her own identity.
The love triangle continues. In the first book, I was leaning toward Lucas. In the second book, I couldn't decide. Now, I want Kylie to choose Derek. However, Derek has done something that really up...more

Shadow Falls is an addicting series that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Taken at Dusk is the third book in this intense series and was as thrilling as usual. Taken at Dusk might be my favorite in the series so far.
Kylie is still in the dark but what kind of supernatural she is. Problems arise in Shadow Falls between the campers (soon to be students) and outsiders continue to cause problems. Taken at Dusk continues where Awake at Dawn left off. Kylie is still in...more

It seems so long ago that I read the 2nd book in this series, I forgot the storyline with Kylie and her love triangle with Derek and Lucas. I guess I wanted her w/ Derek, but in this book I was wavering.
Kylie still doesn't know what she is, and in this installment she is being visited by a woman with a shaved head with a huge scar on it, who is sometimes pregnant but doesn't know her name or what happened to her. her only message is "one will live and one will die." So that's the big mystery of...more

I don't know how C.C. does it, but she did it again! Just when I don't think her books can get any better they do! I love this little world and characters she has created is pretty much amazing! Ever since the first book I cannot stop thinking about these characters, even long after I'm done reading each of the books. To me that's a sign of a really GREAT author! I wish I had her skills. She takes on quite the roller coaster ride in this book. With the ghost that is warning Kylie that one lives...more
I'm so tired of hearing Kylie complaining about Derek ending their relationship. They didn't had any relationship.
When Derek tried to get close to her she always pushed him away telling him she didn't want the other campers to know how she feels when he's close, that she was ashamed of her feelings (desire, blah, blah). She repeated that same sentence over in over in book 2, and now it's Derek fault because he coudn't stand watching her always thinking about Lucas or because he dind't stood by h...more

Absolutely brilliant :)
"I'm in love with you, Kylie." He looked almost embarrassed by the admission. He jumped up, took one step away, then swung around and faced her again. "Entführt in der Dämmerung" von C.C. Hunter ist der dritte Band ihrer "Shadow Falls Camp"-Reihe, Urban-Fantasy für Jugendliche/junge Erwachsene. Nach einem sehr enttäuschenden zweiten Teil hat mich der dritte Band - beziehungsweise das Hörbuch dazu, gelesen von Shandra Schadt - wieder mehr überzeugen können. Wenn auch nur ein bisschen mehr...

Kylie Galen wants the truth so badly she can taste it. The truth about who her real family is, the truth about which boy she’s meant to be with—and the truth about what her emerging powers mean. But she’s about to discover that some secrets can change your life forever…and not always for the better.
Just when she and Lucas are finally getting close, she learns that his pack has forbidden them from being together. Was it a mistake to pick him over Derek? And it’s not just romance troubling Kylie....more

I still really like this story and the constant mystery and plot twists but to be honest I'm getting really sick of this love triangle! I mean seriously.. one second it's Lukas. Then he leaves and she's with Derek. Then Derek leaves and she's with Lukas... I can only take so much and it won't take much longer until I'm really done with their love story. Normally you know which guy she's probably going to choose but here? It's just messy and endlessly dragged out. And I wonder if it is necessary...more
Meine Meinung

I just finished the third installment of the book. Lemme say, I love the books so far. I love the other characters except for the protagonist. The cliffhangers and all that. Now lemme tell you what I dont like.
1. The protagonist of this series is sometimes annoying in her ability to whine about what she is. Perhaps that's the whole point of these books, but seriously, can she not move on? The whining sometimes is irritating.
2. The whole Shadow Falls is a place where supernaturals go but for wh...more

Taken at Dusk is kind of in that limbo between 3 and 4 stars for me. It showcases all the characters I loved from the previous two books and we got lots of answers, and lots more questions. But for me, it’s a bit of déjà vu.
Kylie continues to play ghost whisperer, matchmaker, saint and angsty teen. Yes, there’s a new character and some nice twists and turns, but the book had the same ingredients as the first 2 books and up until the end, I was convinced CC Hunter had used the same recipe to mak...more

Kylie is still trying to figure out what type of supernatural she is and there’s an amnesiac ghost hanging around her with an ominous message from the angels, “somebody lives, somebody dies.” Her real father’s adopted parents seem to have literally disappeared and her heartbreak over Derek, the guilt and instincts are restraining her from completely acting on her attraction toward Lucas. When Derek comes back, all those hidden feelings resurfaces and jealousy bites in but certain truths eases he...more
What is with Kylie Galen and all these mysteries about her being? What is it with Kylie Galen and, Derek, the half Fae who had fallen head over heels for her? What is it with Kylie Galen and, Lucas, the werewolf who just couldn't get enough of her?
What is she? - that's probably the question she hated hearing. What's worse is the fact that the truth about her is so close yet so far away.
Kylie Galen chose Lucas. Okay, he had fallen for her since childhood. Derek left her. Lucas is the hunk werew...more

Holiday wrapped her hair into a rope. "Change isn't the worst thing, Kylie. It's when things aren't changing that you have to worry."

After finishing book 2 I had to pick up book 3 immediately. I couldn't wait to see what would happen with Kylie and the group at Shadow Falls.
Kylie is dealing with so much, her parents divorce is still messy, she has feelings for two boys, she is being hunted by rogue vampires, an amnesiac ghost is haunting her, her two best friends keep arguing and she has more powers emerging everyday yet she still doensn't know just what she is. Talk about Teenage angst, she has problems, but saying that, Ky...more

I’ve read the other two books in the Shadow Falls series too and before this installment I could never decide if I really liked them. It’s not that they’re bad books. The idea of a supernatural camp for teens is pretty cool and I like the possibility that all the different species’ feuds provide. The premise is solid for a YA offering. The books themselves just felt draggy.
But the story seemed to hit its stride in this book.

I liked this book just as much as I liked the others. Before, in Born at Midnight, I said that I hoped she went for Lucas. It's funny, because now that I've been given what I thought I wanted, I actually want the other one. Derek is just such a better fit than the possessive and too focused Lucas. He kind of gives me the creeps. Any guy who showers you with flowers after he messes up is one to watch out for. I'd much rather get flowers as an "I love you and was thinking of you" than as a "let me...more
What is up with third’s being the best in series? Ascend? Dark Frost? And not Taken at Dusk? I mean seriously thirds have been EPIC!!! I do mean EPIC!!! It seems that the first book is setting the stage, seconds are often filler and then thirds are where these series are really hitting their strides!

C.C. Hunter grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she's still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is...more
