I was so excited to get my hands on the ARC of Fury's Fire, the sequel to Siren's Storm. Thank you Random House and netgalley.com! Fury's Fire is an excellent sequel to Siren's Storm. I actually liked it better than the first book, though I did enjoy Siren's Storm very much. The pacing is much better in Fury's Fire and the characters continue their development. This is a face-paced, fresh look at the mysteries of the sea and the creatures that inhabit it. It is paranormal, but it is believable....more
From the amazing mind who brought readers Siren’s Storm, this sequel will keep you reading until the very last page has been turned. Not to mention…there is a serious twist in this one that you will NOT see coming.
Transferring from a ‘wealthy’ life in Manhattan to living in an old farmhouse that her dad inherited free and clear, Gretchen is focusing on a new beginning. A lot has happened in a very short time. Her mother left the family, because she wants nothing more than money, and Gretchen has...more
Gretchen and Will are sort of at odds in this book. Gretchen has no idea what transpired the fateful night where they "battled" the sirens and Will doesn't know what to tell her that won't scare her too much. Will knows Gretchen is not merely human, but he still doesn't know what she is. They still are not free of the sirens, there are plenty of siren scenes for the reader to look forward to. Is Asia really gone? Who actually killed the sirens?

I wish i had read the first book in the series Siren's Storm before I read this one becuse I would have liked to enjoy it from the begining. This book was a very easy read and i liked it very much i just wish it had been longer. It was only 256 pages and it left me wanting more. When i was done i felt like i had just read a novella and not a ful length novel. All in all it was a good book and I would recomend i...more

Let me start off by saying that I haven't read the first book Siren's Storm. Because I somehow missed the opening line of the synopsis about this being a sequel, I was pretty confused when I started reading Fury's Fire. By the second chapter it was pretty clear I had missed some pretty big events, but I didn't let that discourage me. I kept reading, and I'm glad I did, although I would recommend that if you plan to read Fury's Fire, check out the Siren's Storm first.

After reading Siren's Storm, I wasn't sure what to expect from Fury's Fire. Siren's Storm wasn't a strong book to me and I was afraid this novel may suffer from the same problems. It didn't. Whereas Siren's Song was choppy and didn't feel cohesive, Fury's Fire is a strong, well paced novel with a plot that follows a straight line. After a bit of a slow start, I couldn't put it down.

I really like this series! The mermaids in this story are terrifying! It’s no wonder that Lisa Papademetriou calls them sirens. They are vicious. In Fury’s Fire, the suspense factor is amped up to a whole new level. I loved that some of the old characters that seemed so stable in the first book (Siren’s Storm) have deeply troubling secrets that surface in this book. That really added to the mystery that shrouds Fury’s Fire.

Great sequel. Better and deeper than the first book. The mythology just keeps getting better and better. Gretchen’s becoming the Fury! It reminds me of the Angelfire series mixed with Tricia Rayburn’s Siren series. The book goes a lot faster and is way shorter, but it still leaves an impression. I love the resort town setting, and the mysterious happenings. Sleepy seaside towns full of dark secrets and creatures. Sirens and a Fury. Gretchen is a great character. Will’s okay, but I like Angus bet...more
I wasn't sure I was going to read this. I've been trying to make it a goal to not seek out every sequel to books I've read. Especially those that I felt were just average. But, this one I just had a hard time saying no too.
I think the biggest thing the drew me back to the story was that I don't think Getchen fully knew who she was. And if she doesn't know who she is, how can she possibly understand what she is capable of. She had too many holes in what happened towards the end of book one. Will...more
2.5/5 stars.
Definitely better than the first book, I can say that for sure. But at the same time, this was still lacking a great deal. While the author has grown a lot in certain departments, she still has a lot to learn in others. "Fury's Fire" is a pretty quick read, so I didn't lose much time over this one. Still, I had high hopes for this one and while what I was given was adequate, it was barely just.

Will is annoyingly overprotective of Gretchen. She just sent a group of malicious sirens to their death, but just like the time before, she doesn't remember anything other than the hints that come through in her dreams. Will was there and could tell her, but it's like he thinks she's too fragile to learn what she is, or maybe he doesn't want to admit that Gretchen's strong enough to take care of herself without his help. Sorry, but males that try to bottle up women 'to keep them safe' just reall...more
