I read this to the daycare kids and they loved it. It was a little long for the younger kids, but they kids really liked to see how it was alike and different than the movie. I might not read this in my class but I could recommend it for other kids to read. It might help for students with a disability to somewhat know what to expect. It could help them read and predict.

A fun book that I've had since childhood. I love the story of a boy growing up around animals. The plot is detailed and enjoyable. It is one of the books that adults and children can still enjoy for the same reasons!

Purchased for our trip to Atlanta, read it to Tommy on the plane ride home. Unlike many of the golden books, these illustrations are true to the original.

The Jungle Book is good in any format. This is a favorite when making the turtle come down the slide.

Trying to cram this book into a Little Golden Book format was a mistake.

i love the story of the jungle book, being the animal lover that i was. i had the book with the audio tape so it would guide me in my reading and help me pronounce words right. i was really disappointed back then mowgli left his animal friends for a girl. after all that they did, he chose to leave them. i wanted a real-life baloo and i use to sing to all the songs... "oh ooh be doo, i want to be like you you you.." and "look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities.." More...

Disclaimer: I usually review children's book based more on what my children think of the book and less on what I think of the book...

The thing I loved as a mother about the Golden Books is that they were easy to pop into a diaper bag so we could read wherever we were going. This, I have to admit, was one of my personal favorites because it reminded me of my first crush on someone ever: Mowgli!

Bagheera was a wise panther. I liked that Mowgli wanted to stay in the jungle but he decided he would try the man-villiage. He met a little girl that was a "girl-cub."
