I'm thrilled there are so many Jennings brothers in this first book...it must mean they'll be lots more tales to tell from the Blackwater series. I devoured Sam's Promise quicker than a five guys burger; his talented hands, patience and hot bod had me drooling to the point where I was concerned my eReader might short out.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I can tell you I will be searching out more of her books.
The book was so sweet and it didn’t hurt that Sam was amazingly HOT and so very nice. Also, Julie was such a nice girl and beautiful inside and out.
Sam and Julie are great characters and great for each other. Both have big hearts, even when Sam doesn't want it to show and hides under his gruff frowns and Julie refers to them. No guessing from the beginning that he wanted her. I...more

3.5 stars. I am having a hard time to express my feelings towards this book, but here goes. This book has something that can be characterize as the love of the family. The strong unity all brothers and parents have. What each brother went through when they were is foster care and how the mom stepped up and took care of them even though in the beginning they were not liked her one bit. An enjoyable read , would love for it to have been longer and would like to have seen more to the ending. But I will be certainly reading more into these sexy brothers ... The characters were well fleshed out, and an intriguing storyline. Lots of sexy moments ! Sam certainly was a hottie for sure ! All the brothers intrigued me and Anne certainly has put forth lots of smexiness and hot moments for us readers whom enjoy there reads hot !!

Cute and quick story. I HATED how it ended - it just left me wanting MORE MORE MORE! Very likeable characters and the romance was pretty good. Would like to read about the other brothers....
So good. Really enjoyed this read cant wait to read about all the brothers. This was my 1st read from this author and not my last.
The story was ok. I must admit I did not like the ending but I guess that's something that comes with a short story.

I loved this book and Ms. Rainey’s style of setting up a story, then following through with intertwining plotlines that mesh smoothly. Her characters are men and women to fall in love with: five tall, muscular, alpha brothers who make “family first” their life motto and the women they care about. I will definitely be looking forward to each installment of the Blackwater series to find out what happens to brooding Brodix, agreeable Vance, and the twins, cheerful Reilly and poor damaged River. This book was free though Smasword and I was drawn in pretty quick. Sam is screaming ALPHA male, he is drawn to Julie the waitress working at his mother diner.They have some pretty steaming sex in the book. This was a pretty quick read of about 93 pages on my Nook. I will finish this series can;t wait to see about the other brothers. My only complaint about this book was I wished it was longer.
Very short, very hot, very much entertaining. ;)
3 1/2 stars. I really liked this sexy contemporary romance. So far Anne Rainey has not led me wrong when it comes to great characters, believe able plots, and hot romance. However, I was unhappy with the ending. I realize that this is going to be a series, but nothing felt very finished and the book seemed to just suddenly end.
I really enjoyed the story and I just wish it was longer :(
