Again, another favorite of Patterson's. Located in the D.C. area, which makes it even more fun to read. Suspenseful, easy, frightening reading. Loved it!

I went through a bit of a James Patterson kick for a while back in the day so please excuse the sheer amount of his books that I've read.

I think anyone who has read his books will agree they are not difficult or challenging BUT they are entertaining and full of suspense and keep you turning pages. I've enjoyed every one of his bo...more

Geoffrey Shafer, a high-ranking member of the British Embassy in D.C. is part of a role-playing game known as the Four Horsemen with three other people throughout the world. However, the game has taken on a life of its own when murder starts to weave into their little fantasy. Now, D.C. Detective Alex Cross must find a way to bring Shafer down despite his diplomatic immunity and the fact that Alex's fiancee Christine Johnson has been kidnapped, possibly by one of the horsemen. Very suspenseful a...more

I stayed up late last night, like an extra 45 minutes to finish this book. I had to find out how it ended. I really liked the story but I was slightly disappointed in the ending. There was a lot of suspense but the ending fell short for me. I suppose most books are like that. I'm sure we will hear more from some of the characters in this story later on. I wasn't too keen on the situation with Christine though. Seriously? I don't know if I buy it. I really enjoyed Death's character. I love how he...more

I could not get past page 12 before I wanted to hurl this piece of drivel down a well then toss a rock after it to prevent it's accidental discovery.

I didn't know it was possible to create such horrible sterotypes and to write with this level of immaturity.

Maybe I should have read further, but after hearing the young black kid actually say, "Yo, yo, yo" I had to find better things to do with my time.

5th installment in the Alex Cross series... the plot is not as original as the series has been accustomed to. I've seen the whole "Diplomatic Immunity" thing done plenty, but there are some good variations to the "same ol' tale".

There are definately some semi-frustrating reoccurring themes starting to take form, especially Alex's relationships with women, and the "escape artist" bad guys. I can live with it, but it is a little discouraging for the series.

Typical Murder Mystery Plot - Hero chasing sadistic killer while also trying to keep killer from hurting him or his family. I really wish authors would steer clear of this 'twist' in mystery plots, I'm so tired of it. Outside of this, though - Patterson does a great job of keeping those pages turning with an interesting villian and some mildly suprising plot twists. Nice easy read, definately kills the time.

Alex Cross calls them the Jane Doe murders. Each body has been dumped, abandoned without clothes, without ID. There is no set pattern to the killings and officially they are unconnected. But Alex knows that one man is responsible, a man who's living dangerously a new enemy he's named Weasel.

Seri ke-5 ini lebih "kejam" dari seri-seri sebelumnya. Tapi tetap bikin penasaran.

I admit it: I'm an Alex Cross GEEK. Love him. (Also love Alex Delaware, but that's a different series, different author.) I have read a lot of James Patterson (even, so help me, the flying kids series), but these remain my favorites of his books, and I always look forward to the next one. They're brain-candy at its best--engaging, fun, thrilling, quick, easy reads.

I got this horrible book as a free audiobook from Audible.com and absolutely hated it. Full of stereotypes, stupid plots and bad writing. Ick- what a waste of time. I gave up on it pretty soon, mad at myself for having stuck it out for about 20% of the book. No wonder Audible was throwing this at subscribers for free.

There are times when one needs to read something quick and mindless. I found myself reading several of Patterson's books in one sitting during one of these times. I regret it to this day. Save yourself the time and rent the movie Double Team, starring Jean Claude Vandam and Dennis Rodman.

Serial killer playing a game with others called the Four Horseman. The game is interestiong as far as what the players represent. Same Patterson suspense as his other books. End leaves things wide open. Made me want to read the next book, but not enough to go buy.

So far so good. Unfortunately, as I am reading it out of order from the other Alex Cross books by James Patterson, I'm not familiar with prior cases he refers to. Otherwise, the book stands on it's own.
Very suspenseful. Good page turner.

Of all the Patterson books this was my least favorite. The ending didn't lend itself to closure and did not seem to be one that would continue either. However, Dr. Cross is one of my favorite characters...

Kind of a murder mystery book. I liked it, however, it is fairly graphic. I am interested to read more James Patterson to see if this is a common thread among many of his books. Not for children!

i read this a long long time ago. before i had any idea that patterson's use of two-page chapters would make me want to club him in the head with a mallet.

I couldn't wait to the end. This was not a great read at all. Patterson should not mix romance and crime in the same novel - so not believable!

Alex Cross is golden in my book, but this one went a little too far for me. Awesome story line, though, if you are a die-hard thriller fan.
