Theodosia Browning, proprieter of the Indigo Tea Shop in Charleston, SC is back, along with a cast of regular friends and co-workers that round out her sleuthing group. A local theater has been renovated and a Charleston Film Festival is kicking off it's new life. This draws many new faces to Charleston, and unfortunately for a couple of those folks, a murderer as well. Reading this series is sort of like a guilty secret, because the writing is not super-fantastic or anything, but the setting is so relaxing. I think I read these not so much for the mystery to be solved or even for the characters, but because I feel like I get to visit the tea shop when I read them. It's kind of strange to find myself reading a series more for the incidental tea knowledge and descriptions of baked goods than for the actual stories, but it has become addictive anyway. Laura has created a nice series and each new mystery still leaves me guessing. Sometimes I think I have it figured out but I'm never sure until the end. Laura's other series (scrapbooking) is also good.
