This is a novella and part of a PNR series that brings together several species of paranormal. It falls between the second and third books. It can be read as a stand alone which is how I read it so I'll have to go back and read the two books before it before continuing on in the series.
It is simply the story of how- in the midst of defending their pack from the vamps who wish to take and drain the wolves of their potent blood for the boosted power it gives them- two opposites find love. Harmony...more

In what started off with a sense of a typical male versus female battle of wills, with little grounding in reality turned quickly into a slightly abbreviated character study of a refusing to be submissive female wolf-shifter and her all too alpha pack Beta who is far more Alpha and domineering than would fly in human circles. With an eye to cleverly portraying Sorin’s utter bewilderment at Harmony’s refusal to bow as a lower pack member, and her smart mouthed responses to his demands made what c...more

For the Love of Harmony by Leia Shaw
A recent freebie at All Romance lead me to Leia Shaw and this story. This is a new author for me but one I will be looking at for more books because I liked her writing style and I liked this story.
The story moved smoothly only hiccup was the constant question marks in place of apostrophes. This is unfortunately not the only story I’ve read with this problem and I’m afraid not the last. Why I ask

I like #NakedWerewolves. This is not something I attempt to hide in any way so it should come as no shock that I enjoy this series and all the naked shenanigans that happen when these werewolves get bit by the urge to mate.
Besides being a naughty/sweet dip into Sorin and Harmony's sexy times, Harmony also makes Sorin understand that real love doesn't come at the cost of caging their mate. Harmony is independent and she isn't willing to bow her head and meekly do as she's told. Sorin is rather st...more

A short Novella that gives you a taste of the Shadows of Destiny Series
Sorin is the Beta of the Northwest wolf pack. He is old and hangs on to his old fashioned ways. Ways that will not allow the female pack members to learn to fight against the vampires. Especially not when he realized the spitfire leading the girls is meant to be his mate.
Harmony grew up outside the pack. With her human mother and werewolf father she learned to care about the environment, wh...more

My first and definitely not my last time reading any works by Leia Shaw. She's created a very passionate, desirable shifter world that keeps one on their toes. A short, fast and satisfying read that left me craving more!
Harmony was raised to believe in herself as an individual and there is no need to restrain that fact. She and her friends go to the council to request they be allowed to fight along side the males against the vampires. That is a request that is forbidden and has been for a very l...more

Oh Ms Shaw you take my breath away.
I just finished reading Book 3 in the Shadows of Destiny series (Destiny Unchained) and although I loved it, I was dismayed that one of the side character (Sorin) didn't have the time dedicated to his side story that I would have liked. I had hoped he would be the lead character for Book 4. A quick response from the author and I have a free novella in my hot little hands all about Sorin. Very impressed.

For the Love of Harmony is a short, novella about Sorin, the Beta wolf of the pack featured in Destiny Unchained, book three. Sorin is of the old way of thinking when it comes to relationships and the roles of the men and women in the pack. Then Harmony steps into his line of sights. She rocks his world with her "newer" ideas and headstrong ways. She too has some leadership skills and uses them to lead a group of females into challenging the “old fashioned” ways.

3.5 Stars. Cute little freebie ss. Harmony is a Park Ranger in Yellowstone National Park; and Sorin is her pack Beta. The pack has been having problems with the vampires and are in need of beefing up their security. Harmony wants to train to help hunt the vampires, but Sorin says no. Not only is he an old style wolf and believes the women shouldn't fight; but there are so few women in the pack he doesn't want to endanger them. This puts him at odds with Harmony; and the battle of the sexes is on...more
Quick read. Interesting story.
Harmony is a werewolf/ park ranger who is kind of new to pack life. Her father was a loner but she joined a pack to help protect the grey wolf. A short novella featuring a side character from Leia Shaw’s third book. Yet another great read from Leia! This novella is a bit different from her other two books, Destiny Divided and Destiny United, it has ‘clench your thighs’ romance scenes – with a little bondage and one hot alpha wolf. *sigh* The female lead character is absolutely fabulous, she is stubborn, outspoken, witty and really gets the alpha’s blood boiling. Together they make an unstoppable couple.
Love empowers! That is the theme of this sexy PNR novella.
Here we met two strong-willed individuals: feisty Harmony who is a champion for female werewolf rights and stubborn, old-fashioned Sorin who is beta of the pack. Despite the differences in their opinions, their attraction for each is strong and their chemistry is off-the charts. As they heed the mating call, they also need to find a way around their own prejudices and learn the sweetness in the surrender of compromises.

thanks N. for the loan (the GR Apps doesn't allow me the same freedom of the website... no options...)
One of the few times we seem to have very different opinions on a story. I really did not like its message. No woman is strong enough. :[

I love reading about the world that Leia Shaw has built. She's hit another homerun with For the Love of Harmony. Harmony strikes just the right balance between independent and submissive while we watch Sorin learn that love isn't about control, but about allowing the other person to be themselves. And then there's the hot sex - wow.

“What you said before…” He stopped and seemed to consider his words. “When you said love isn't about control…what did you mean?”
The insecurity in his voice charmed her down to her toes. “Well. I just think that love is supposed to empower, not subdue. To love someone unconditionally, is to give them the freedom to be who they are. There's no room for control. If you're telling someone who they should or
shouldn't be…well, that's not unconditional, is it? And there's no such thing as conditional love.”
She waited for his response, but he stayed quiet, so she continued. “My dad always said love is like a stallion. You can try to tame it but you'll miss out on its most beautiful form.” She snuggled closer to his warmth. “When it's wild and free, with no restricting fences, it can go on forever.”
He didn't say anything for a moment and her lids grew heavy. His deep voice shook her awake again. “But, if you love someone, you do what's best for them.”
Though he phrased it as a statement, she heard the question in his voice. “No. If you love someone, you support them in figuring out what's best for themselves.”
