Ms. Estes' first novel is a hit! Cat McDaniel, the main character of the novel, isn't your typical superhuman sleuth. In fact, she's refreshingly normal. As a new reporter, just called up to the big leagues, Cat finds herself enamored by the fancy new office, the dream job, and the charming, rich boss. I had the pleasure of reading a new mystery novel over the last couple of days. Big Leagues was available as a FREE download on Amazon.co and is a fun novel by Jen Estes that is a perfect blend of mystery and baseball. This is the first book from the Cat McDaniel series and I thought it was great. Now, I'm looking forward to the second book which comes out October 1st. That was the first "baseball" themed book I've ever read, but I really enjoyed it.
As a result I stumbled across this one, and thought I'd give it a try. I was really surprised that this author I'd previously never heard of was up to par with the great John Grisham.
I tend to follow author's because of their writing style, not the content. I can read anything as long as it's well written and Jen Estes has now become of those writers!

This is a story about baseball, the inside workings, reporters and such. I liked it okay. A little mystery and some romance. I will read the next book if I have a chance. LSS-NoG
Very good mystery; quite a page turner at the end, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the Las Vegas and baseball team background. A very enjoyable read.
