Although very dated (nearing its 75th birthday), this volume remains, so far as I know, the only book specifically devoted to the political theology of the Elizabethan Puritan movement, and has stood the test of time well. Much of Pearson's portrait needs to be nuanced and filled out in the light of modern research, but there are few, if any points, that need to be directly revised.
