“ A Fractured Light “ managed to surpass “ A Beautiful Dark “ in entertainment and a tiny bit of originality, but unfortunately it remains a typical paranormal romance with typical characters and plot. Basically, it’s the same recipe of the first book with a few things changed along the way.
Thankfully, the plot moved along – kind of – but Skye ruined everything for me. She’s still torn between Asher and Devin (Girl, wake up! He f*cking stabbed you! If a guy stabbed me

FUCKING LOVE TRIANGLES.. no, you know what FUCKING CLIFFHANGERS. (excuse my language)

That is all I have to say about this book.

Omg the cover !!!

This. Book. Messes. With. Your. Freaking. MIND!!

Seriously! It's like there is a criteria for "How to Mess With Your Reader's Minds and Make Them Lose It" - a guide, handed out to authors at their little secret midnight gatherings. The heroine is torn. There's two hot guys. The heroine has to decide between them. She NEVER LISTENS TO ANYONE WHO GIVES GOOD ADVICE AND DOES HER OWN THING...which normally leads to her SCREWING EVERYTHING UP. And then, we have a well-placed and anti-climatic CLIFFHAN

The cover: Pretty! But, the angle of her arm, (the right side of the picture), looks odd, almost like her forearm from the elbow down is missing. Especially if you look at the cover from a distance or as a thumbnail image.

The book, (so far!), I am halfway through so here's half a review lol: I wonder if Jocelyn Davies enjoys skiing and wintery sports? There's a lot of "skiiers are teh shizzle!" vibe what with how close they are to nature and Skye using skiing to focus her powers, etc. At times
A Fractured Light takes off immediately after the events of the A Beautiful Darkness when Skye was almost killed by Devin. Asher takes her to a remote cottage so that she can recuperate. Once she’s comes back home, she realizes that the Guardians are everywhere (Devin is back too) and her life as she knew it did not exist anymore, but she still tries to hang on it for as long as she can. She also starts trying to get her new powers under control. As far as her love life is concerned, she is happ ...more
Light and Darkness. Chaos and Control. Love and Sacrifice. A Fractured Light is a gorgeous story of a world hanging on a balance; and how one girl's decision will change everything.

You know, for someone who claims to be tired of angel stories, I have to say that I have been on a real "angel high" lately. And honestly, I was a little worried about reading A Fractured Light. Don't get me wrong, because I did enjoy A Beautiful Dark. I just found parts of it to be very frustrating. I didn't like no

Well... This is a certainly different change of shades in covers. Guess Skye chose Asher....

While being nothing out of the ordinary A Fractured Light still managed to surpassed A Beautiful Dark in entertainment, and a bit of originality. Skye managed to go from "bland" to slightly interesting, Asher is still sort of hot, though not really, Devin is infuriatingly surprisingly still around, Cassie is still the 2D man/gossip obsessed girl she has always been, Ian is an ass, and Adam still eats fries.

Basically is the same recipe of the first book with a few things changed along the way. Ag

I can't get enough of this series! I am so in love with the characters, the story, the epicness, the romance, everything! Skye's journey through her 17th year continues. She obviously lives and didn't die by Devin's hand. Asher is so sweet and caring for her that I still can't figure out if I'm rooting more for Asher or Devin. However I'm leaning more toward Devin. He is so tortured and broken after almost killing her and then getting bonded during his grief it is impossible not to love this guy ...more

I called Skye many names. Non of them was good or nice. She was mad at Devin for trying to kill her (which is excusable) but she didnt try to understand him. She knew that he had no option but she couldnt put two and two together and see that Devin never actually meant to hurt her, he was forced to.

I liked Devin from the first book, probably because he reminds me Daniel from Fallen. As it seems I am one of the few people who still like him. Team Devin! I had accepted thought that Asher was going
I disliked the first one. I hated the writing, the huge font, and Asher and Devin.

"A Fractured Light picks up right after A Beautiful Dark's shocking cliffhanger ending and is perfect for fans of Lauren Kate's Fallen and Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush saga."

Ooh that's why! Now it makes sense. I hate Fallen and Hush, Hush with a passion. The first book belongs to that group of book. A special girl that has powers, with an asshole lead that treats like crap.

No thank you. I ain't reading this. Ne

I really don't know where to begin with this book! This book was just surprisingly SHOCKING and THRILLING! A Beautiful Dark was painstakingly beautiful that I fell deeply in love with EVERY page. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the Sequel knowing it would not disappoint and HOLY CAT NIP was I right!!! A fractured Light starts off where we left off in the first book, girl likes two guys, guys like her back, she is gifted with both light and dark, the guys fight for her love and yea you sh ...more

Alright, I'll be honest in saying that as much as I wanted to like this book, I just couldn't feel it. Starting with the plot.

I expected the plot to move a lot more that what it did. Yes, the reader gets more info on both the rebellion and the order. I liked learning more about both groups especially what their motives really are. Still, the reader doesn't get much but instead bits and pieces. Nothing really moves till the ending of the book when things finally come together.

Okay, this is going to be quick because I don't have much to say that I didn't already say in my review of A BEAUTIFUL DARK, the novel before this one. One could really talk for hours about this book but it wouldn't be something you haven't heard before. Neither is this plot-line.

The only reason I read this is because I somewhat liked A BEUATIFUL DARK. At the time I had given it the benefit of the doubt because I think it could have been good. I pic

Where do I begin?

I guess I should start by saying I don't remember much about Beautiful Dark only that it was yet another wannabe Twilight that featured angels. In other words, it was one of those books that made me hate angels (that's never a good thing). I still though decided to give the second book a chance, via the library, but still a chance. I thought there could be potential to this series despite how big of a cliche

While I want to thank First Reads and HarperTeen for providing me a copy of A Fractured Light, I have to be honest and say that I did not enjoy this novel. I found the writing to be filled with cliches and dependent on overly dramatic phrases. The plot was nearly devoid of action until the last ten pages and had an absurd amount of holes (Why doesn't Skye care who healed her at the end of A Beautiful Dark? Why doesn't the Order ever try to kill her again while she's on any of her countless hikes ...more
This was an amazing story that picks up right after the cliffhanger ender of book one. I loved the control that Skye gets over her powers and the closeness that she is feeling for Asher, but she also is feeling distance from her friends because she can't tell them the truth and it hurts. Then she finds out that her Aunt Jo is a rogue and has known all along and she herself has been trying to keep Skye safe. She is also having visions which the only person she can talk to about is the person who ...more
I really really liked this book!! I do wish that Skye would be a tad more independent! but other then that it was just as good as the first book A Beautiful Dark! I have to say i am torn between both guys though after this book i am leaning more toward Devin :D anyway if you like Hush Hush, Fallen, Twilight or Paranormal Romance in general give this series a try you wont be disappointed :) I cant wait for the next book!!

This is probably my favorite book in this trilogy.

The suspense for me was amazing. Everything was tense and ready to fight at a moment's notice which left you wondering when there would be an all out brawl between the two sides. So much is at stake in this book, pretty much the fate of the world is on our main character's shoulders and on her decisions, so everyone is trying to persuade her in some way. And at the same time, she has to protect her family and friends from what's going on and it t
Crystal (Kris)
I was afraid that Skye was going to dissolve into one of those girls who go all soft and gooey after falling in love and getting the guy. It really seemed like it was heading in that direction at first, but I'm delighted to say that Skye still has her head together at the end of this book, if not her heart. She's still one tough cookie. She still yearns for a normal life, but her fear for the safety of those close to her prevents her from telling them the truth about what's happened to her. Unde ...more

This picks up right after the other ended, and while it has only been a short time, I had already forgotten some details, but it gets you right back to speed.
There is a lot of tension in this one as Skye comes back home, with her aunt because she suddenly disappeared, at Devin because he tried to kill her, with herself at all of the guardians around and the fact that she is still out of control more than she wants to be.
But Skye is getting more control, becoming more confident even throu
OKay. I'm giving this 3 Stars but mostly because I am so confused by what my feelings are towards this book.

The beginning of this book I liked, the middle was excruciatingly boring to me. I just felt like NOTHING happened. I kept waiting for SOMETHING, ANYTHING to happen! It just felt like Jocelyn was trying to fill in pages. Plus, Asher annoyed the crap out of me in this book! What happened to the cocky, dark Asher? His personality was really missing in this book. I actually found myself liking

“I am always torn. Between control and chaos; passion and tranquility. Between what's fated and what I want. Part of me longs to take the plunge, to dive off headfirst and let the feeling of control evaporate on the wind. And part of me wants to be in a place where I'd never have to worry about that choice--or any choice. Where peace and calm are the only things I'd feel.” 18 likes
