A Fractured Light (A Beautiful Dark #2)
When she wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings, Skye knows something terrible has happened to her. It's not until she hears Asher, the dark, rebellious angel she fell in love with, that the memories come flooding back. She tries to put the past behind her, but she knows she'll be forever haunted by the ruthless betrayal that almost took her life.
Skye returns home, but wi...more
“ A Fractured Light “ managed to surpass “ A Beautiful Dark “ in entertainment and a tiny bit of originality, but unfortunately it remains a typical paranormal romance with typical characters and plot. Basically, it’s the same recipe of the first book with a few things changed along the way.
Thankfully, the plot moved along – kind of – but Skye ruined everything for me. She’s still torn between Asher and Devin (Girl, wake up! He f*cking stabbed you! If a guy stabbed me ...more
FUCKING LOVE TRIANGLES.. no, you know what FUCKING CLIFFHANGERS. (excuse my language)
ASHER I LOVE YOU.
That is all I have to say about this book.
Edit: AHHHH!! THIS COVER IS *_________________* GORGEOUS! AWESOME! BREATHTAKING!! AHHH!!! DGQSGDFHJQSGFJQSFKJQS!!!

Seriously! It's like there is a criteria for "How to Mess With Your Reader's Minds and Make Them Lose It" - a guide, handed out to authors at their little secret midnight gatherings. The heroine is torn. There's two hot guys. The heroine has to decide between them. She NEVER LISTENS TO ANYONE WHO GIVES GOOD ADVICE AND DOES HER OWN THING...which normally leads to her SCREWING EVERYTHING UP. And then, we have a well-placed and anti-climatic CLIFFHAN ...more
You know, for someone who claims to be tired of angel stories, I have to say that I have been on a real "angel high" lately. And honestly, I was a little worried about reading A Fractured Light. Don't get me wrong, because I did enjoy A Beautiful Dark. I just found parts of it to be very frustrating. I didn't like no ...more
The book, (so far!), I am halfway through so here's half a review lol: I wonder if Jocelyn Davies enjoys skiing and wintery sports? There's a lot of "skiiers are teh shizzle!" vibe what with how close they are to nature and Skye using skiing to focus her powers, etc. At times ...more
Where do I begin?
I guess I should start by saying I don't remember much about Beautiful Dark only that it was yet another wannabe Twilight that featured angels. In other words, it was one of those books that made me hate angels (that's never a good thing). I still though decided to give the second book a chance, via the library, but still a chance. I thought there could be potential to this series despite how big of a cliche ...more

Okay, this is going to be quick because I don't have much to say that I didn't already say in my review of A BEAUTIFUL DARK, the novel before this one. One could really talk for hours about this book but it wouldn't be something you haven't heard before. Neither is this plot-line.
The only reason I read this is because I somewhat liked A BEUATIFUL DARK. At the time I had given it the benefit of the doubt because I think it could have been good. I pic ...more
I expected the plot to move a lot more that what it did. Yes, the reader gets more info on both the rebellion and the order. I liked learning more about both groups especially what their motives really are. Still, the reader doesn't get much but instead bits and pieces. Nothing really moves till the ending of the book when things finally come together.
The love interest. U ...more
I liked Devin from the first book, probably because he reminds me Daniel from Fallen. As it seems I am one of the few people who still like him. Team Devin! I had accepted thought that Asher was going ...more
I love asher and devon but I want her to have nothing to do with either of them. They complicate her life trying to use her for the powers that outshine theirs combined.
The girl is powerful and they both know it.
I'm not sure where this is going after reading this book, but I expect that there is going to be this epic or ...more
