I read both Decadent and Wicked Ties IN ONE NIGHT! I loved them both. I liked this book just as much as the first. I know not everyone feels that way, but I do.

I loved Deke. I have heard that his brooding behavior drove people nuts... but not me ;) This book has so much angst and drama that it sucked me in right from the start and didnt let go. I liked Luc, and I know that most of the people that have read this book preferred him to Deke, however knowing that he gets his own book be More...

Welcome to my rantview

If you’re looking for a book with lots of hot 3 way lovin’, but don’t need a really believable or compelling storyline, this might be the book for you.

I’m just going to get this off my chest, right up front - there’s this bothersome thing about Shayla Black’s heroes. They all seem to have some kind of horrible secret which in my opinion aren’t really all that horrible. At least, not to the degree that these men, these rough, take no priso More...

This is the second novel in this series, and it is a ménage novel. Kimber is a 23-year-old virgin, who has been in love with Jesse, a rock star, for 6 years. Now they are ready to talk marriage. Only thing is the last few years have been sexually wild ones for Jesse and his band on the road. He’s into all kinds of sex stuff, including ménage.

So Kimber goes to Deke (whom she has known since she was a teenager…he worked with her father for a while) and his cousin, Luc, who are we More...

4.5 STARS!

What the hell happened? Deke was such a sweetheart in Wicked Ties! But I get why he keeps pushing Kimber away.

Deke Trenton has a serious case of blueballs. The poor guy desperately wants Kimber, but he’s just too closed up for the kind of relationship that Kimber is looking for.

Now although I was a little sad to see Deke act like such an asshole, there was another jack off I hated even more than him and that was Jesse, the pansy-ass rockstar who assu More...

This book was more enjoyable than the first in the series...but don't get me wrong, I liked the first one too. The "kinks" the characters had in this book were completely different than the sub/dom and BDSM in book 1.

Two cousins, Deke and Luc share everything from their home to their women and are hoping to find a woman who will want to settle down, have a family and live as their wife. When the virginal, pale skinned, red head, Kimber shows up on their door step asking f More...

Kimber, daughter of a Colonel, looks up a man, Deke, who used to work for her father, whom she hasn't seen since she was 17, and asks him to teach her about "sex his way": menage. He shares women with his second cousin, the sexy chef Luc, and is hung up over the fate of the last woman he had sex with alone, Heather, back when he was a teenager. Kimber wants to learn about menage because of Jesse McCall, a sexy pin-up boy and pop star who she's known for five years, who she's been savin More...

4.5. Another very good book. Hot, hot, hot.

I did not like this one as much as her first book "Wicked Ties" and I can't really pinpoint why. Maybe because Deke is just a little over the top screwed up. Like he denied things till the last 50 pages of the book really. We all have bad things happen in our lives, he just couldn't seem to move on from them.

Deke and his cousin Luc pretty much come as a pair. So when Kimber asks Deke to teach her about his life st More...

This book is erotica, so stop reading if that's not your thing.

This is a m-f-m menage book, and it's very hot. I have no complaints about the sex scenes - some very wow impressive. The book is well written, and I couldn't put it down. Certain aspects did get on my nerves, however. For example, why are the men in menage books so often related to one another (brothers or cousins)? Is it to avoid any hint of homoeroticism? And why is the lead hero so often an emotional baby - whining a More...

With Decadent, Shayla Black once again demonstrates how erotica can also be good literature. Unlike so many writers in this sub-genre who focus only on great sex, Black insists on little things like plot development, characters with personalities, character motivation and, you know, stuff like that.

I've read this book twice now. After the first read, I wasn't as keen on it as I was on the related story, Wicked Ties. But everyone I knew was raving about it so I thought that maybe I'd More...

What I liked about this book:
The chemistry between Kimber and Deke and their eventual love. How Deke always loved her but knew it was better not to be involved with her in the past. He is a flawed hero, which made him human but he saw the error of his ways. There is menage in this book, though... just a warning. Luc, Deke's cousin is introduced which I liked as well. Totally different, with a different set of flaws/problems, he was also very human. The next book, Delicious is about him. Th More...

5 stars - Romantic Suspense/Erotica/Ménage

I had very high hopes and expectations for Shayla Black’s Decadent after reading her boldly erotic delight Wicked Ties and Decadent did not disappoint. Although not quite as perfect as Wicked Ties, Decadent is an emotionally charged, scorching H-O-T read about a complex ménage relationship. Author Shayla Black writes amazing dialogue and deliciously erotic scenes that will make your toes curl. This is one of my top favorite erotica novels! It More...

Kimber is a virgin and in love with a pop star. At first I thought she was just delusional, but it turns out he is just as delusional as she is. He is famous, with a well known kinky side, and a love of menage. He says she is too innocent for his lifestyle, and she is determined to prove otherwise. She seeks out Deke, an old teenage crush, knowing he can teach her everything she needs to know about menage before Jesse returns from tour. What she doesn't count on is falling for bad boy Deke, who More...

I read Ms. Black's first book in this seris, Wicked Ties (review here), and I liked it, but it had some issues that were hard for me to get past. I wanted to try another book before gave this series a thumbs-up or not. Well, I'm giving it the thumb's up....I like it and am looking forward to the next book. Okay, the premise was a bit unbelievable, but once I got past it I didn't care - it was a sexy, sexy book!

I liked Wicked Ties. I thought the characters were interesting, the plot was interesting, and I could make myself go along with how the story unfolded. I even thought Deke was a good character in that book. Decadent, on the other hand, has horrible writing, the plot is ridiculous, and the entire book is borderline comical. Deke is getting on my last freggin nerve, and his "deep dark secret" is just plain asinine. On top of the stupid secret that has tormented his life, his reaction More...

When virginal Kimber decides she needs a "sexual education" before giving herself to rockstar, Jesse McCall, she decides that Deke Trenton is the man for the job. Kimber has had a crush on Deke since he worked for her father when she was a teenager. However, as a woman she finds that these feelings now border on raging lust. Deke and his sexy cousin, Luc, are known for their wild sexual appetites, and soon Kimber finds herself entangled in a hot triangle. The deeper she sinks into th More...

So, this is more 3 1/2 to 4 stars. I didn't like this one as much as Wicked Ties, but it was enjoyable. I guess I found the original premise kind of silly, and Deke was quite the idiot sometimes. Kimber is a 23 year old virgin who thinks she's in love with her old flame, Jesse, now a rock star who's into threesomes (no joke!). She wants to fit into his life desperately. She remembers her father's employee, Deke, an ex Army Ranger with a penchant for the same lifestyle (rumors abound around More...

That wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough as well.

I have to admit the sex was hot but I the big secret and Deke's major hang up wasn't exactly major to me. I didn't like how he treated Kimber, even when he made it up to her in the end. He's too hung up, has a lot of emotional baggage and he's an ass, didn't really appreciate him.

Kimber was really emotional, but it's understandable having to deal with that kind of f*d up situation, and I hated Jesse he's such a...I don't have More...

Decadent was Shayla Black’s #2 book in her Wicked Lovers series. After finishing Wicked Ties I was more than eager to start on book 2.

About the book (Cover):

Two men are better than one…

I find this book highly amusing at the first half, a little bit irriating in the middle, and very sweet & romantic in the end.

The first half was amusing because of Deke's mixed behavior of teasing and anger. Loved the scene between Deke and Kimber and that bouncer at that random party at the beginning of the book. XD

The middle part was kind of irritating because the menage suddenly became a struggle. I found the third-wheel Luc highly annoying just because he was there al More...

Kimber is pining after her teenage crush/boyfriend who is now a wildly famous, and just plain wild pop star. But she has read enough to know that her unexperienced virginal ways will not be able to keep him as her man once he comes back to town. But she knows just the man to show her the ropes, Deke, and then Deke's cousin. Deke is caught up in some past guilt and will only do menage relationships and refuses to get emotional or close. But staying detached from Kimber who he has known for years More...

A very sexy and spicy book, yes, but overall this is one of those books in which the potential is better than the actuality. The two main characters, Kimber and Deke, are very irritating. She's a love-sick ninny just asking to be taken for granted. He's a melodramatic jerk lacking coping skills. His whole issue about pregnancy just never worked for me; he came across as a ridiculous prima donna. The most interesting character was Luc, and I wish he'd gotten more "screen" time than he d More...

Ok story, but Verrrrrrrrry Hott!!! Deke and Luc are SIZZLING. The whole cousins thing and sharing was a weird but to each his own right?? The storyline was flimsy tho I mean Kimber trying to learn about sex for Jesse was laughable and unbelievable, and the fact that she turned to Deke to learn *sigh... and the whole Heather story that kept Deke from being able to fully love Kimber was weak and annoying, It wasn't believable to me that this was the secret holding him back, the secret itself was l More...

Shayla builds a great, though somewhat predictable, story line full of characters that you feel like you could know by the end of the story. The scenes in this book were carefully thought out and brought something new with each section.
This book may have received 5 stars had it not followed the typical story line with virgin meets bad boy, bad boy gives in, girl leaves for someone else, girl figures out she's in love, girl goes back, boy gets girl pregnant, boy/girl freaks and calls it off More...

This book was smokin' hot with the menage. This time around it was about Deke from the previous book. Deke was definitely different personality wise in this book but we get to find out why as the story progresses and he is faced with his haunting past.
