Wow - for only a handful of pages, this story packed in a lot of sweetness. I felt that they author somehow managed to get quite a bit of character development into this story. We learn about both of the characters - their past and their feelings of living in NYC. The end of this story just held so much promise for their future. It was short but poignant and well-executed. I would read more about Chris and Adrian.

Feeling alone and out of place on Halloween turns into an enjoyable evening and a new beginning with his cute neighbor.

L-D summed it up nicely: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

This is what freebies should be -- a good taste of what the author is capable of, and not just some fumbling quickie. There was no more than a shy kiss in this story, but it was better than two-thirds of the other Halloween Howls because of that. Without jumping right into bed, McMurray had time to show us the characters, letting two strangers create a bond beyond physical.

I'm definitely going to check out a longer story by this a...more

So sweet! I would love more with these guys, it's like this was just the prologue and there could be so much more!

Kate McMurray is a nonfiction editor. Also, she is crafty (mostly knitting and sewing, but she also wields power tools), she plays the violin, and she dabbles in various other pursuits. She’s maybe a tiny bit obsessed with baseball. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, with a presumptuous cat.
