Zakia and The cowboy is a heartwarming story about young love gone wrong and second chances.
Young bride Zakia ran away from life on a sprawling ranch and her hot cowboy husband because she felt like she didn't fit in. Only to find herself pregnant and alone.
She wants desperately for him to come after her, but he doesn't. She wants to call him, but she doesn't. Pride gets in the way of their love for each other....as it often does for us.
Years later, Zakia realizes the only one she can run to in...more

I liked it, but the dialogue got a little to... Golly gee for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, the story was good and well plotted out it just seemed... Dare I say, a touch to Happy? It reminded me of a 'Pleasantville' type atmosphere... All...
"Gee Mary Sue, maybe you ought to not chase that guy right now it's pretty dark."
"You know Billy Joe, I do think you're right! I should wait until morning."
"That's a grand idea Mary Sue. Why don't you come settle in over here for a bit?"

Zakia and the Cowboy
Zakia as a young women, married Luke the love of her life. Both were young but the chemistry is strong. Luke, a cowboy through and through. Owning and running a ranch, kept him busy. If not out working on the farm, he was working with his animals. Except for at night. At night, was for Zakia. Zakia although, in love with Luke was very lonely. All ways by herself and never included in the ranch, started to regret getting married so young. So when she leaves Luke, he really doe...more

I loved this book. Something the author didn't give away in any blurb or excerpt I read was Zakia was pregnant when she left Luke 5 years earlier, which made the book so much better. And to make things better, they were twin boys (awwww). I could picture them so well in my head and they were just adorable. The first part of the book was mostly dedicated to Zakia and Luke learning to trust each other again and rekindling their love. Oh and don't forget, Luke has two little boys he's dying to know...more
Zakia and her five-year-old twins are forced to return to the ranch of her former husband when someone starts maliciously stalking her. Zakia has never stopped loving Luke, but how will she regain his trust after having left without an explanation—and without telling him she was pregnant with their sons? Now time is running out, both for their love and Zakia’s life.

The beginning was hard to continue, it was telling and the story just starts. There’s the characters, there’s the scene with no gentle ease into the book. That said, KEEP READING! It gets so much better. The growing relationship between Lucas and his twins was beautiful. Then add the flames between him and Zakia, it makes for a dynamic read. I’m not a mother and usually kids in romance novels never end well but Ms. Nelson did a fantasti...more

This book was a big ball of WTFery for me. Many places the dialogue and characterizations just didn't make sense. The RCMP involvement in the stalker situation had me wondering if Canadian and US police resources were really so different. Are Canadians not allowed to have security cameras? Because a couple of those would have done wonders for nipping this one in the bud.

"He gave her a leg up, their bodies brushing against each other, causing a heated friction that certainly wasn't due to the heat of the sun."
Wow! I think that's my favorite line and just had to throw that out there. This is a romantic/western suspense. Zakia is a single mother with two twin boys who has a nasty stalker. She escapes to the only place she feels safe: her ex husband's ranch.
Luke is a hot cowboy who gets a shock of his life when he discovers he has two twin sons. Once her and Zakia...more

Well developed story and characters. Stalker plot added a good bit of suspense to the story but the ending when the culprit is found was wrapped up too tidily so it felt a bit flat for me. Chemistry between h/h is good as well but this is more sensual than erotic. Many of fade-to-black love scenes and not overly explicit or graphic. Set up is perfect for next book with best friends Samantha and Blake which I look forward to reading.
Okay i went to start reading this today and i have to say the publisher dropped the ball on the formatting of the ebook i downloaded for my kindle.
after quickly clicking through the chapters. The first twelve chapters are almost entirely italics with the odd sentence/paragraph here or there that aren't. The from chapter thirteen the italics disappear.
I honestly don't think i can read it like it is which is a bummer because i was looking forward to reading it.

Lorraine Nelson lives in rural New Brunswick, on the east coast of Canada. Always a bookworm, she’s read many novels of romance and mystery over the years, finally deciding to put her pen to work at writing one. “To write romantic suspense is my dream job, although my mom says I was born with an avid imagination and pencil in hand, crafting stories from an early age.”
