This is a great mystery story of Sammy Keys, an average teenage girl. The mystery starts in the opening chapter, when she is doing community service at a local church. Sammy sees a girl walk in, then a few minutes latter, the head of her church calls her into his office and accuses her of stealing his most prized possession, his cross. When she denies it, he kicks her out of his office. Sammy doesn't see the mysterious girl again, until latter in the story. They become the best of friends, and

Great mystery series for grades 4-6. Sammy is a fascinating detective character--abandoned by her mom and living in senior housing with grandma, friends with everyone in the neighborhood and softball player extraordinaire. She is smart and thoughtful, and in this book uses her skill to solve a crime at the local Catholic Church where she's doing community service following a badly executed plan to get back at a nasty kid. Our lunchtime book group (grade 5) ate this one up and went looking for mo

This is a cute book for youth, it does bounce back and forth with the plots of several things going on at once. I thought it should stay with what the "Mystery" portion of it was. Too much on her relationships at school and at soft-ball, although she does eventually bring them together, in a way. I read it while I was tending the grandkids, so it was good that it was fast and easy to read!

Why is is so hard to find good middle school mysteries. This one was ok.
Sammy (girl) is putting time in at the local church as community service. While there she meets a homeless girl some regular nuns and some wacky nuns. And then there’s lessons in safe cracking and the big softball games. A rip roaring good mystery and generally great book.

A fun read. One of the marks of a good writer is that they can transport you. When I could practically smell the paint and feel the drips I knew I was in for a good read. The softball game descriptions practically had my own adrenaline rushing. And I'm always up for a few good laughs, so this book is a winner in my book.

Another Sammy Keyes hit. These are simple middle-school-aged mysteries that move pretty quickly. I think the reason I like them so much is that Sammy does such an excellent job dealing with the bully at school who torments her.
I did figure out the mystery pretty early, but it was still enjoyable.

i liked the mystery of this book. i mean it wasn't too predictable but there were new things happening to the main chracter quickly which maintained the apce of the book. I definitely liked it, and it was mystery too. All ages can read this book and very fun to read too.

Again, living along side of Sammy is a treat. Who would ever have guessed the ending of this one. One other thing I like about this whole series is that Sammy is no angel. She gets into more trouble in a book than I did in a year at her age. She lives and feels so real.

This is such a good book. Sammy's at it again in this thrilling mystery. She gets herself into trouble with some not so saintly nuns. Little does she know the 'Sisters Of Mercy' nuns hold a deep and dark secret.

Kyler has me obsessed with this series. We are now listening to the 4th one on CD in class. I think I now have the 5th graders obsessed! I love this series for kids!!!!!!!

Helping out at the local church lands Sammy in hot water, as per usual. Nuns, priests, and the quirky locals are all added to the list of suspects in this fun mystery.

Sammy is a fantastic narrator, funny and thoughtful. The story was a nice mix of mystery and everyday life, and there were plenty of suspects to choose from.

This was super funny! I love the nuns who act exactly like all the nuns i've met so far, very "religious" but these nuns have something to hide!

Very predictable but still loving the characters. The is the book that introduces us to holly -- the main character in "runaway."

Good story and good reading of it, but I didn't like how the girls in the story were so mean to each other.

This book rambled at times but had a good underlying theme to it if it doesn't get lost in the ramble.

I'm a total sucker for mystery. Good easy read, well written, and worth my time.

The series begins to go somewhat downhill in the third, less-suspenseful entry.

Sammy Keyes is my fictional role model. She's the reason I wear high tops. :)
