Exorcism and Demonic Possession are not my usual choice, when choosing a book. The synopsis of Demons of the Rich and Famous had me intrigued so I decided to try it. I am very happy because I ended up loving Demons of the Rich and Famous. Caden is a rebellious teenager, who just happens also to be a famous exorcist. Caden and his best friend, Dan, target the rich and famous in Hollywood to make money to pay the bills. How do they do this? After picking their target, Dan, who is a demon, possesse...more
What a wonderful dark tale. Caden Butcher is your normal teenage exorcist to the stars. Working together with Dan, his demon and best friend they have a pretty good scam going on. Caden knows how to preform real exorcisms but the stagged ones are just too easy and a good way to make a quick buck. Someone has to support his dead beat alcoholic father. Caden has it made until one demon ask for him by name. After a blothced exorcism Caden discovers a demon has come from hell looking for him and it...more

This is Earth, but not the planet we know. Demons take every opportunity to leave their diabolical world and possess humans. Sometimes they don't even wait for an invitation.
Frank Butcher is seriously injured in a failed exorcism and his son Caden lays in a coma for a year. When Caden miraculously recovers he doesn't tell anyone he has spent the year surviving in hell with the help of a demon, Dan. Caden lies about his age so he can d...more

Warning: This book is in ebook format only.
I generally don't review books that are not available in only ebook format, but this one is good enough that I think it needs to be advertised a bit more. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review.
A quick summary: Caden Butcher's dad is an exorcist. A couple years ago there was some trouble with an exorcism - his dad ended up severely burned and disfigured and Caden ended up in a coma. While everyone thought Caden was simply 's...more

Demon Whisperer is a prime example of why Tawny Stokes is one of my favorite Young Adult authors. It’s edgy and dark, with humor, action and well written characters.
Caden is not your average teen. Trained from a young age to be a Exorcist by his Father, this young man has been to hell and back, literally, before he’s even twenty. When an exorcism goes bad his Father is badly disfigured, and he’s placed in a comma. Unlike most comma p...more

Demon Whisperer was a highly enjoyable novel and it was excellent. There are a few demon novels floating around and the ones I’ve read I have thoroughly enjoyed. Needless to say I thought that Demon Whisperer was such a good book.
I really liked the concept of Demon Whisperer and I really liked Caden. I thought it was cool how Caden was an exorcist; it’s definitely something different to the usual sort of Paranormal YA I’m used to. Not to mention the protagonist is a male. I really liked Caden’s...more

I really like this book. Many different elements of this book kept me reading it. I loved that the characters is flawed. He is no perfect but always makes mistakes. I like how even how his past comes back to haunt him in a way I never saw coming.
Ms. Stokes presents the reader with an amazing and fast paced beginning that keeps the readers eyes attached the book and never wavering. I like how immediately I was able to fall into the characters shoes and feel his every emotions. I love it when auth...more

Immediately after reading Tawny Stokes’s debut, Static, I just had to read her sophomore novel, Demon Whisperer. Though I knew it wasn’t related to Static, I fell in love with Tawny Stokes’s writing in her first book, and just wanted more of it. And let me tell you, I thought Static was good, and was completely unprepared for how much I would enjoy Demon Whisperer.

Although I love my vampires and shifters it is so nice to see something different thrown into the mix and Caden is just that, Different! He’s a hunky, sarcastic, kickass exorcist with a sweet side. The world Stokes has created is original and fun and filled with danger. Stir in some romance, demons, necromancers, zombies, a cat, and a less than trustworthy best friend and you have the exorcism of the century! You get to see Caden struggle with being in his father’s shadow and taking on the respo...more
3.5 stars!
I'd say for me this was a 3.75 stars. A really good book.
I jumped into it blindly because of the pretty cover (yup! it's me we are talking about, I always do that XD)
And I discovered a highly entertaining and interesting story. I love demons and reading about them but this story also surprised me with zombies.
I wasn't expecting that!
The beginning was insane lol, unique!
Totally fast paced, I devoured it in less than a day.

Oh boy, what a ride!
Caden Butcher, teen exorcist, read a bit like a John Constantine (Hellblazer) for a new generation. He definitely has the attitude as well as the vulnerabilities. The slightly-alternate world -- basically the same as our modern reality, but for demon possessions and the raising of the dead being relatively common and normal parts of life -- was executed splendidly. It hooked me right in from the...more

This was a quick read that captured my attention the entire way through.
The characters were great. Caden has many faults, and knows some of them would really piss his dad off. He's arrogant when it comes to his work as an exorcist. Although, that's not real most of the time. Caden was morally flawed at tomes, but honestly, who can blame him. He spent an entire year in hell with demons that didn't really care for him. I loved seeing him grow throughout the book. Butcher became a little wiser, and...more

Caden Butchers life is anything but ordinary. Caden spends his days doing exorcising demons which he has spent all his life training for. After coming out of a coma for a year to find his father injured he begins his career as the Hollywood exorcist. The best part? He gets paid thousands of dollars to do so. However, what nobody knows and what Caden could lose his license over is that all the exorcisms are staged by himself and his best demon friend Dantalion or Dan. Everything in Caden's life s...more
So let's see what we got here.
A teenage exorcist who spent a year in hell, hobnobbing with demons and learning demon speak.
His demon best friend.
His necromancer girlfriend.
And one pissed off demon gunning for him.
I loved this book. I loved that it was told from the point of view of a teenage boy, Caden Butcher. I loved that it was unique (exorcists? Don't see a lot of those in books). I loved that it was a grab you by the throat and take you on a wild ride from page one.

I really enjoyed 'Demon Whisperer' by Tawny Stokes; it was entertaining, fast-paced, and had a nice mix of the supernatural and excitement.
In the novel, Caden Butcher wakes up from a year-long coma to resume his life as a teenage exorcist. While in the coma Caden's spirit spent time in hell and when he regained consciousness he could speak Demon and had befriended a couple of demons. I thoroughly enjoyed Demon Whisperer. I liked having a male voice and tho' he is a little full of himself in the beginning, I felt connected to him throughout the book.
He is an exorcist that spent a year in hell while his body was in a coma. To get out of hell he had to make some deals and do some things he is not proud, but who wouldn't? His best friend is a demon and his girlfriend is a necromancer and his cat is more than just a cat too. As we all learn in life, many times our past choices c...more

Very original! I think this is one of the few books that was so thought out, it was awesome! I really enjoyed this book very very much. I can't wait for the next one! I didn't want the ride to end. I sat all day n read so I could find out what happened next. So needless to say I did get to the end n wanted to continue but unfortunately the next ones not here quite yet!
Seventeen year old Caden Butcher is a demon exorcist. At first, the exorcisms are phoney but soon a malicious demon from hell comes after Caden with a vengenance and Caden must decide whether to resort to his old tricks or catch the demon with true demon-whisperer skill.
Demon Whisperer is a fast-paced and entertaining book. I highly recommend this terrific read.

I have this book, and I'm rather confused as to why. But according to amazon, I bought it. So I suppose that's that.
This story offers a unique twist on the teen paranormal. Caden Butcher is a licensed exorsist who actually spent a year in hell while in a coma. Caden learned to speak Demon and learned that everything has a price. He made friends on the inside. And some enemies...
I couldn't put this one down. Tawny keeps you turning the page right from the get go. CHECK THIS ONE OUT!

Tawny Stokes has always been a writer. From an early age, she’d spin tales of serial killers in love, vampires taking over the world, and sometimes about fluffy bunnies turned bunnicidal maniacs. An honour student in high school, with a penchant for math and English, you’d never know it by the foot high blue Mohawk and Doc Martens, which often got her into trouble. No longer a Mohawk wearer, Tawny...more
