My expectations were high as I have enjoyed Lochte's previous work and he has not published a "solo" work in awhile. (He has recently been co-authoring "celebrity" mysteries).

However, this type of action thriller is not my cup of tea. YMMV. It is well-written and makes good use of the L.A. landscape. But I did not go in for the larger-than-life hero (ex-con living the quiet life finding himself in the middle of murder and mayhem forced to figure out what's going on in order to survive) and some
