A really enjoyable collection. Also a really lovely, well put-together collection. Sketches from Russell Chatham are tastefully scattered throughout. Though the subtitle suggests otherwise, these are all nonfiction pieces, except maybe for one or two of Jack Curtis's pieces. Anyway, the majority of the essays were great, though those that stuck to fishing were best. William Hjortsberg's skewed way too far into the "short magazine piece" category and thus seemed less genuine than the others. Sure ...more
