We get to know Ronin so much better in this story. He is an absolute sweetheart who completely adores Amara. Who can blame him? However, Ronin seems to also be on the hunt for something more. His personal life feels unfulfilled in the wake of Keegan and Taeg's home-life happiness and he's troubled by the mystery of what happened to his 'family in the clouds'. Even with that heaviness on his mind, it didn't stop him from noticing the gorgeous woman at the bar nor did it stop him from pursuing her into a closet for an erotic encounter that he'll never forget. After all, it did almost kill him.

When Amara meets Ronin she recognizes him for what he is - a decent guy. Which makes him totally off limits to someone like her. Maintaining her sanity is dependent on emotional detachment, but surviving the night means completing her assignments or suffer the horrific consequences. With guilt over many things as her motivator, Amara tries to refuse Ronin's advances. He makes her feel things she shouldn't and despite her best efforts and Ronin's refusal to take no for an answer, the situation is far too tempting to resist for long. It's just too bad her touch could be deadly to his health.

It was wonderful to read as both Ronin and Amara's characters and relationship grew throughout the story. They have similar stories of how one decision can change everything and harbor misplaced guilt over those decisions. It was heartwarming to see how Amara reacted to even the simplest of kindnesses like when Brynn offered her clothes. Amara took safety and comfort away from that gesture since much of her life involved being exposed in so many ways. Her vulnerability is what ultimately calls out to Ronin early on in the story. And it was Ronin's pureness and his own vulnerability that called out to Amara. Readers who are uncomfortable with intense violence against the heroine and scenes alluding to rape and forced seduction should be forewarned. Although I believe it was the grittiness of those scenes that adds to the reality of this paranormal world and intensified the actions and resulting emotions of the characters. The impact of all of it combined leads to explosive sex scenes and an unforgettable ending.

The bits of Arthurian legend that's been woven throughout the series gives the Infernum world a unique flair and the bad guys are some of the most gruesome, but I can't wait to find out more about Lina. She kind of stole the show for me when her character was introduced. Each installment to the series seems to get better and better as well as spicier and spicier. Ms. Lario really turns up the heat in this one and I can always count on an exciting love/danger mix in her work. It's stories like these that keep me reading and loving paranormal romance.

Ronin is an angel/demon hybrid. He survived Amara’s touch—barely. Ronin and his brothers are bounty hunters and they have a job to capture the psychotic master. Ronin is shocked to find Amara is involved with the icubus. He finds his attraction to her just as strong as it was the night at the club. Only he doesn’t understand it. She tried to kill him and almost succeeded. Ronin convinces his brothers they need Amara to capture the master, but in truth, he cannot bear to let her go.

With Amara so close, their attraction cannot be denied, but Amara needs to feed, which means she needs sex. Ronin wants her and would gladly take her to bed, but another encounter with her could lead to his demise. Foreplay seems to keep Amara from starving and keeps Ronin alive, but this will only give her a few extra days at most. She needs to be with an incubus. Ronin knows of one who can help. The thought of Amara being with another will devastate him, but he won’t let the woman he’s falling in love with suffer because of his pride.

Readers Beware: Rosalie Lario opens a portal to the Otherworld and you’ll have very little chance of escaping. Of course, you won’t want to. Sexy heroes and kick-butt heroines will light up your pages with an action-packed story mixed with danger and a heartfelt romance. Ronin and Amara, the irresistible star-crossed lovers, made me a fan of this series. I can’t wait to read about Ronin’s brothers.

This is the third book in the Demons of Infernum Series, but I had no trouble reading this book out of order. I also highly recommend Ms. Lario’s Fallen Warriors Series.

Book 3 in the Blood of the Demon series

When her accidental and unsuspecting prey one night is a sweet, if a little rough-around-the-edges, angel named Ronin, Amara has trouble forgiving herself for killing him through their one-night-stand (let me interject here for all of you non-paranormal people: succubi kill any non-sex-demon they have sex with). She can't seem to get his face out of her mind. Ronin wakes up drowsy and weakened from his one-night-stand with a beautiful girl - and it doesn't take long before he realizes she's succubi. Can he find her and take her off the streets before she kills anyone else? And what will he think when he discovers her real motivation for her dirty deeds?

This book started out disappointing – especially since the first two books in the series were so incredible. This book began slow, a bit confusing, and not terribly attention-grabbing. I wasn’t sure quite what I was reading and I wasn’t all that interested in reading about it. Luckily, that didn’t last too long! About 1/5 of the way through, it finally started to pick up the pace and turn into the magnificent book I was looking for. Still, that first 1/5 of the book was agonizing to get through and I’m still not certain I understand exactly why it was written the way it was – where the reader is plopped in the middle of a scene as if they should understand it. One other thing I noted that I didn’t like about the story was that the dialogue was a little unnatural and wooden at times. However that also disappeared as the book went on. Really, only the beginning didn’t live up to my very high expectations (well, the ending was a little cliché, but I was still able to enjoy it and put that aside).

I liked the book but there were a few things I absolutely adored: Ronin, Amara, and the unique nature of their romance. How many romances start with the heroine almost killing the hero… with sex? That was amusing, to me. I also really enjoyed how both the romance and the plot became increasingly unusual - and not in a bad way. There were some twists I wasn't expecting, and the focus of the story was far different than what I expected, which was still enjoyable. I also loved the romantic focus on the vulnerability of Amara due to her incredible sexuality. I really liked how Ronin protects her – recognizes that she needs protecting – and looks beyond his own anger at her, to the larger problem (the main villain). Many heroes can be short-sighted, but Ronin was looking far ahead.

Amara, for her part, is a savvy heroine. She's funny, sarcastic, smart and kind-hearted. She's going through a rough time, trying to keep her mom healthy and herself healthy in a deadly game where she's a near-useless pawn. She's struggling but she's keeping her head up. She was generally optimistic and I loved how she was able to keep her self-preservation instincts throughout the entire story instead of turning into a wimp that needed rescuing. Her determination to survive is unmatched. She has to make hard choices throughout the book but she doesn't let her bottom lip quiver - she does the best she can to make the best decision she can. She's definitely a strong woman, in need of an equally caring and equally strong man.

Ronin was really an incredible angst-y hero. Suffering through a nauseatingly awful childhood, he is strong, caring, protective, and smart. He looks past his own suffering to the suffering of others and does his best to ignore his own pain and rescue them from their demons (past and present). He’s a very giving hero, and inspiring. He’s also funny and your ‘typical man’ sometimes, which brings him down from being an obnoxious paragon to simply a caring human being (or rather angel-demon hybrid) capable of mistakes but not prone to them. The way he cares for Amara is beautiful and touching and makes for a great romance. The book's terrible start coupled with its beautiful prose and tender romance throughout the middle and end had this book averaging out to a B- in my mind – still good, but not as good as I’ve come to expect from Lario. Especially since this book became so unusual and interesting throughout the middle, I was extra disappointed by the still adequate but cliche ending.

Still, I would definitely recommend the entire series. Books one and two are phenomenal, and I can't wait for book four. Thank you so much, Ms. Lario, for sending me your book for review!

Bottom Line: This book started off slow but quickly picked up its pace to become the enthralling read I expect from Lario. Ronin is a loveable hero and Amara an admirable heroine. The book focuses on their struggles and provokes major amounts of empathy from the reader for both the hero and heroine. I also adored the struggle they faced as lovers – my only wish is that it wasn’t resolved so neatly. Overall, another touching addition to the series!(less)

Being around his two happily married and engaged brothers just makes him edgier, so Ronin is spending more and more time drinking away the hours in bars with his brother, Dagan. Until a beautiful woman catches his eye and perks his interest like nothing has been able to in months. One encounter with her however leads to near death, but despite that Ronin can’t get her out of his mind. Rosalie Lario’s writing sizzles with this latest addition to her fresh new paranormal romance series, Demons of Infernum. Highly sensual with blazing action and tingling suspense, Touch of the Angel was another can’t-put-down read.
In the previous two books, Blood of the Demon and Mark of the Sylph, Ronin was the sweet and calm brother. Here, we delve a whole lot deeper into his persona and I loved the depth and dimension that Lario gave him. Meeting Amara, a relationship between the two seems impossible without death for Ronin but the two of them get pretty creative and work around that and amazingly enough make this book even hotter than the first two despite the lack of actual intercourse through most of the novel. Their relationship flowed well and was balanced, and though Amara seemed a bit weak in the beginning I definitely ended up loving her by the end. The dynamics between the brothers is still strong and plays an integral role in each novel; you can’t help but become smitten with each of them. A good amount of action is woven into the romance, keeping me guessing, with new villains and a storyline that will continue into the next book in the series. As well as the story for Dagan, this was also set up near the end and really intrigued me. I can’t wait to see what happens with him! Better read in order of the series, the Demons of Infernum is a must-read for all paranormal romance lovers! (less)

I love this one....

since I loved Ronin aka Xander from the beginning... a rare mixed Demon Angel..

Such a good surprise when the heroine isn't another human, but a succubus.. an interesting coupling..

And I met again with Cresso.. in a different circumstances.. can't wait to read his story.

At first, there some frustrating matter that Ronin couldn't get totally hot with Amara... but thanks to Cresso, all go well..

A Small Step Down in the Series
Ronin hasn't been sleeping well lately. He and his three brothers are concerned about the lack of work they've had. It isn't an issue of money. They are paid well for their jobs as interdimensional bounty hunters and they have savings. What concerns them all is the very real possibility that the Council could very well decide that they're not needed in this dimension any longer and send them back to Infernum.

This book is about Ronin, the half angel/half demon brother (see, already you are intrigued, aren't you?) When he meets Amara, a succubus demon, she almost kills him, but that doesn't keep him from becoming completely obsessed and intrigued when he meets up with her again.

On her part, Amara is simply in an awful situation with no hope for escape. She is stuck doing what she has to do, which means sex with men to kill and drain them, at the whim of the man who has control of her life, Asmodeus.

This is another book filled with intrigue and suspense. At the heart of it all are these four brothers who are enforcers for the council. Beyond that, they are there to support each other's backs and work for the side of right. Two of the brothers have already found their mates, Blood of the Demon & Mark of the Sylph, but they are still working to keep things right in the world.

The story in this book really resonated with my angst-y loving soul because the relationship between Ronin and Amara is so impossible. If they have sex, he dies and she needs sex to live. They are in a huge Catch 22 with no happy ending in sight. There is DEFINITELY some conflict happening here and it creates for some amazing sexual chemistry and tension. And both of these characters have some emotional scars (have I mentioned before that I love angst??) Ronin especially has vowed to never love anyone again after his father tore him from his family at age 9. He has vowed never to put himself in a position where he can feel that kind of loss ever again.

This book is another FABULOUS installment to the series. First, these books are centered around four brothers with an amazing relationship. They will do anything to protect one another. Second, this particular book has a wonderfully impossible romantic story. The way that Rosalie wrote the story...so PERFECT! I am reading Cressos' short story next...OMG, LOVE that incubus and what he did for Ronin and Amara. Third, the books are riveting and entertaining. A wonderfully complex world that doesn't get so caught up in a ll the creative details. It's complex, but never boring or too much to understand what is happening.

I think this third installment of the Demons of the Infernum series is the strongest one yet. If you're not familiar with the books, they feature a quartet of half-breed demon brothers who work as bounty hunters on earth. This story belongs to Ronin, who is part-demon, and part-angel.

As the book begins, Ronin falls under the spell of a succubus in a bar and nearly loses his life. We later find out her name is Amara --and she is essentially a slave to a power-hungry incubus named Asmodus who is u...more I think this third installment of the Demons of the Infernum series is the strongest one yet. If you're not familiar with the books, they feature a quartet of half-breed demon brothers who work as bounty hunters on earth. This story belongs to Ronin, who is part-demon, and part-angel.

As the book begins, Ronin falls under the spell of a succubus in a bar and nearly loses his life. We later find out her name is Amara --and she is essentially a slave to a power-hungry incubus named Asmodus who is using her to siphon powers from various supernaturals --and then forcing her to feed them to him. Ronin and his brothers end up working a case to capture Asmodus, which brings Amara back into their orbit.

The brothers hope to use Amara to get closer to Asmodus, but that changes quickly. Instead, Ronin and Amara begin to fall for each other. They can't do the deed again, because it will kill Ronin. So their relationship is fraught with sexual tension. Hot, steamy sexual tension. And even though they can't cross the finish line, they find plenty of ways to slake their lusts as they ponder ways to best Asmodus and free Amara's mother, who he is holding captive.

My favorite thing about this series is the interpersonal dynamics between the brothers. And I really enjoy learning about their individual histories and the nuances of their powers. The fact that they all have different mothers and different species in the blood keeps the books fresh. Lario is also good at writing some hot love scenes... although every so often, she may bypass reality a little (like when Amara manages to have an orgasm just from giving head --or literally falls into unconsciousness from the veracity of Ronin's lovemaking three pages later.) But it's still a fun ride.

We're introduced to a new villain --who has ties to an old one. I'm curious to see where that goes. We've got a firm set up for Dagan and his future woman. And I have to say, I am intrigued with the incubus Cresso --and I hope we get more story from him. 4 stars.

Ronin has trouble forming emotional attachments with women until he meets Amara, a drop dead gorgeous succubus who turns his world upside down.

By trying to save her mother, Amara some how managed to enslave them both to the evil incubus Asmodeus. Asmodeus and a dark fae Belpheg have hatched a plan to use succubi to to steal the life force of certain powerful Otherworld creatures and take over the council as well as Earth. When Amara meets Ronin in a club she is on the verge of starvation and he is too tempting to pass up. Amara leaves the encounter thinking she’s killed Ronin that is until a month later when she is kidnapped by Ronin and his brothers. Ronin is everything that Amara has ever dreamed of and he might be the man who can finally free her and her mother from Asmodeus.

This is the third installment of Rosalie Lario’s Demons of Infernum series and although it’s not as strong as the first two books it is still a good read. Ronin had it the hardest growing up out of the four boys because he knew his mother for ten years before his father kidnapped him. Ronin blames himself for getting kidnapped and has always kept women at a distance until he meets Amara. When these two first meet the rest of the world disappears and they have by far the most sizzling chemistry out of the couple of this series. They also don’t waste any time acting on their attraction which leads to some serious consequences.

There is a lot more sex in this book then the previous two but I think that mostly has to do with the heroine being a sex demon. I was very interested to see how Ronin and Amara would over come the fact that if they had sex again Amara’s poison would kill Ronin and also that Amara needs sex in order to stay alive. I loved all of the plot twists and turns and the introduction to some new characters that we will hopefully see more of in future books.

My only issue with the entire book was Amara. For some reason she just rubbed me the wrong way and it took long for her to find her strength and stand up for herself. I had a very hard time understanding Amara’s mother and why Amara blamed herself for her mother getting involved with Asmodeus. I also didn’t like Ronin a certain times because of how he acted to something Amara said or did. I really loved Ronin in the previous books and I expected a stronger female then the one he ends up with.

I really, really, really love this series and even though I didn’t get the perfect book for Ronin that I wanted it still is a good addition to this series. I actually read all three books in three days because I just found myself unable to put them down until I knew how they would end. To me that is a sign of great storytelling and i can’t wait to read Dagan’s story soon. (less)

Ronin found a cure for boredom all right, in the form of a deadly succubus named Amara, who left him nearly dead after the hook up from Hell. Now mostly recovered a new assignment has come in from the Council. They need to capture the incubus Asmodeus and his dark fae puppet master, and who turns up as their key to taking the bad guys down, Ronin’s succubus, Amara.

I swear by all that is sexy. I knew Ronin was too hot for his own good. I knew all that laid back, angelic gorgeousness was going to get him in trouble and I was right. That trouble came in the form of a seductive succubus, Amara. Succubae emit a poison that is deadly to otherworlders, and only incubae are immune, so when Amara and Ronin did the dirty, it was nearly lights out for my favorite half demon/half angel bounty hunter. Luckily for fans of this series, Rosalie Lario would never let that happen. What she did was give her readers yet another glorious book to obsess over about the lives and loves of these infinitely fascinating demon brothers. For me this was the most emotional book by far, especially for Dagan, the youngest and most mysterious of the brothers. He is watching his older brothers thrive while still continuing with his tom catting around. But something tells me he might be taking a permanent hiatus from that lifestyle in the foreseeable future. But I digress, this is Ronin and Amara's beautiful story.

It's already a given that I adore Ronin, that I love this series, and that Ronin's heroine was going to have to be something special. So when I saw she was a succubus, I was a little skeptical. I mean Ronin is just sooooo...... and succubae are just a tad sketchy and not the most discerning of beings. How as that going to work? Would Ronin have a mate compelled to constantly seek new partners? Ugh!
The thought breaks my heart. Not to fear fellow Infernumphiles, all questions are answered and approved. We also have a mention and hint about how the evil and vile Mammon is faring under his imprisonment by the Council. But there is even greater evil afoot in the guise of a dark fae and his minion Asmodeous (Amara's master) who intend to over throw the Council and take the power for themselves. *shudder* This is indeed a book for the "Keeper" shelf and thankfully the family is expanding so I'm sure there will be plenty more keepers still to come.

Rosalie Lario has become one of my favorite authors! Her books always give me exactly what I want, a nice romance, some sexy moments, lots of action and just an amazing book!!

We rejoin our half-demon brother quartet a couple of months after Taeg’s novel with the boys growing restless. They have not had a job in months and are starting to get antsy. Ronin might be the most agitated of the bunch. He, just like all his brothers, has had a tortured past and because of all his hardships, he rarely lets anyone get close to him. He doesn’t plan on letting Amara in at all, but she completely captivates him and he cannot seem to forget about her no matter how hard he tries.

Poor Amara has gotten the short end of the stick in life. She is forced to use her succubi abilities to harm people and has almost nothing to call her own. She is basically a slave and has been abused repeatedly both emotionally and physically. She is a broken woman, who is always hoping salvation is just around the corner. When she meets Ronin, she wants him more than she has wanted anything else, but she does not dare hope for anything that wonderful to become a part of her world. My heart broke for Amara and the impossible situations she found herself in. She was definitely not a fighter like Maya from the last book, but she had a huge heart and she uses it to care for others in any way she can.

As for the romance, these books have always been steamy, but Touch of the Angel was white hot! I think Amara being a succubus might have had a little to do with it, haha. But Ronin was not exactly and angel (no pun intended) when it came to keeping his hands to himself. The two of them have an explosive connection right at the beginning of the book and the tension just heats up as the story goes along. I loved every second of watching their bond grow and wanted to shout at Ronin’s brothers to go away so they could have some alone time together.

In past books, the brothers’ father has been the root of the evil chasing after them, but they have a whole new sinister force to reckon with now. The brothers are aware that something is out there, but they have no idea who and an unknown force can sometimes cause more damage than one you are aware of. I don’t think he is going to be easy to take down and he also has many minions out there to do his dirty work for him. It will be interesting to see how this guy plays into the overall plot of the story and what damage he will do on the brothers’ lives.

Speaking of the boys, I love how Rosalie keeps all of them right at the forefront of the story, not just the brother being featured. The family bond is so strong between these brothers and that relationship is at the core of these books. It is one of the reasons I love reading them, because I know that along with great action and an intense romance, I am also going have a real connection with these men and the women in their lives. Rosalie has written fantastic characters that are easy to love and impossible to walk away from without knowing how their lives will turn out.

I was also excited to get a sneak peek at Cresso and what was going on in his world! That guy has been stuck in my head since we first meet him and I hoped that Rosalie would give him his own story. To my great pleasure he will be getting one (squee), and seeing where his life has taken him since we saw him last was very exciting.

There are quite a few twists thrown into this story at the end. There is no way I could have seen them coming and that just made them even better. The biggest surprise was the girl I am hoping will end up with Ronin’s brother, Dagan. It came out of left field and I have fingers crossed that Rosalie will let this relationship coming to fruition. I am also dying to see how all the brothers will react to this one relationship. I am thinking Dagan is in some trouble already, haha. You are going to have to read to figure out what I am talking about, but I promise you it is worth it.

Overall, Rosalie just keeps getting better with each book. Touch of the Angel was a hot, exciting, addictive read that I finished in one sitting. I am dying for the next book and cannot wait to see what is in store for both Cresso and Dagan. If you are a paranormal romance lover than these are books you cannot miss!
