The Styling Librarian
Babbit by Lydia Monks – illustrator of What the Ladybird Heard – A cute little toy is put at risk when her young owner doesn’t monitor her… or is that what it is about? Is it about witches and other nasty forest creatures stealing the bunny to eat? Is it about two girls on an adventure? Is it about acting out a drama for fun? You figure out for yourself. I was left looking, thinking, reflecting, looking and feeling befuddled, in a mostly good way. Cute book.

Babbit is a stuffed bunny. The big one and the little one are supposed to take care of him but they aren't doing such a good job...

And away the story goes! Babbit's adventure is adorable and relatable as he is stolen away, retrieved, then tugged every which way by the children as they play.

My 3.5 year old son quite enjoyed it and we received it as a gift so we'll be reading it again.

The illustrations were clever and cute...lots of detail. The story was fast paced with a fun voice. I liked that even the bad forest creatures had consequences.

Unfortunately, it was just okay and didn't compel me to buy it while at the book store. Almost...just not quite.

The best thing about this book is the slightly twisted cover.
