I read alot of books many of them I would catagorize as fluff, entertaining but of not much substance. The Lotus Blossom is not that! It is a book that drew me in and had me care deeply about the main characters. It has life lessons and philosophies to explore wrapped in a real page turner. I laughed and cried copiously. Get this book!

Though pitched to teen girls and women, D.M. Kenyon's delightful book is a fine choice for teen boys and men, too. Kenyon's insights into the emotional, intellectual and social life of young people is impressive. His characters--the girls and the boys--are very real; you'll swear you know them from your own life!
From a background of standards where 'the right looks' and 'image' and 'social standing' are uppermost, Madison Albright transforms into a young woman who actually cares for herself and...more

For anyone who's looking for their next great read, don't look any further because you've absolutely found it with this novel! Madison's vibrant, inimitable narrative voice takes you on a journey of revelation. As the book unfolds, you follow her through a series of influential events which transform her from the prototypical adolescent girl she is at the beginning of the novel, until she emerges from a metamorphosis into the dynamic and unstoppable whirlwind she becomes by the novel's close. Th...more

I read the book while on a beach holiday, and I found myself after a swim or meal always eagerly returning to the book to see what would happen next. That to me is a clear sign of a good read. In addition, the book really "wakes you up" to things that have slowly crept into our lives that we don't even notice them anymore, but really are detrimental to promoting a healthy and caring physical society. Ever hear about how a frog who is thrown in hot water will jump out and save himself, but a frog...more

The story and characters of the Lotus Blossom absolutely sucked me in and captivated me. I grew to love the main characters and enjoyed their intelligent, insightful dialogue. While the story is quite serious at times, it is written with a lot of humor, so I laughed a lot and cried some, too, and at one point felt like my heart was breaking. D.M. Kenyon absolutely captures the essense of a teenager whose eyes are opened to the possibility of living an intentional life. And he reminds us all to...more

One of the best books I have ever read. It is brilliantly written, a book that your ponder and think about long after you finished reading it. A must read for all women and teenage girls. How a man wrote this book, I will never know. But I want to see the movie. And I would LOVE to read a sequel!! You will not be disappointed!!

Loved this book from start to finish. It opened my eyes and warmed my heart. D.M. Kenyon has a way of teaching life lessons within fiction that I envy. Wonderful story and characters. A must-read!
