This is a sequel to David Fingerman’s Silent Kill.

Louise Miller has left the police force and is trying to get her life on track as she struggles to overcome the terror she has survived. She is unemployed and becoming addicted to gambling. How could her life get any worse? Coming home and finding dead man sitting on her sofa is definitely worse. The man being someone she arrested before resigning from the police department makes it twice as bad.

Intense, satisfying sequel to Silent Kill!

This is the third novel I've read by David Fingerman, and I really enjoyed this sequel to Silent Kill. He has a real talent for plot twists that keep you guessing all the way to the end. Great suspense, at times feeling like a thriller, and characters you really care about.

I especially enjoyed how Louise has developed a gambling habit in this sequel. This addictive behavior causes some interesting friction between her and the other characters, and I like
