Recommends it for: everyone, romantic suspense readers
It's not everyday that you come across a book that has everything that it advertises to be: suspense, romance, good characters, tight plot and enough red herrings to make solomon gundy.Yum.

Sebastien Durand is on the path of a serial killer, and he needs Francesca Purnell's help to search for the murder. You see, the predator leaves a calling card (a spider), and it's them racing against the clock before he kills again. Despite this tense time, they are attracted to each other, not knowing that

Nice story with an atypical heroine--a dorky entomologist who specializes in spiders. Coupled with her lack of style in dress and the horn-rimmed glasses, people laughed at her and she was cruelly dubbed the Spider Lady.

I liked Francesca from the beginning. I empathized with her and wanted her to see herself the way Sebastien saw her. He looked past the frumpy clothes and the unattractive hair to the woman underneath. I was happy to see her break out of her shell and become more confident, embr

I was definitely “caught in the web of desire”...Mrs. Smith crafts another HOT & SPICY romance...with some THRILLING suspense...and tops it off with loads of DRAMA...a well-developed and UNFORGETTABLE cast of characters...I love the chemistry between Sebastien and Francesca...and even though Mrs. Smith keeps me on the edge of my seat to the very end...I thought the conclusion could have been more developed and detailed like the rest of the felt like she RUSHED the ending a bit...h ...more

Great Read!

Loved Francesca's character and her growth through out the story. That may have been my favorite part. This one definitely kept me on the edge of my seat because I honestly had no idea who the killer would be. No spoilers here, but this was definitely worth the read!

Great supense...I was surprised right up to the end.

So why only 3 stars??

The beginning of the story was kind of slow...and so many characters were introduced...some for no reason that I could tell. I mean I LOVE that I had no idea, right up to the end, who the killer was...but in my little opinion I would have spent more time in the mind of the mad man and less time with the fluff of the side characters.

Secondly, the sex seemed rushed to me...don't get me wrong I'm a true believer of love at fir

Sebastian and Francesca mystery matters

A good detective always gets his perpetrators. I was impressed that Maureen was able to have the story of the Serial Tattoo Killer intertwined effortlessly with the romance of Sebastian and Francesca. The different dynamics still leave a few unanswered questions. However I did find the story engaging. It kept you wanting to know how Tomanisa and Francesca would resolve their issues. It kept you wondering how Sebastian would be able to set aside pass demons

This book was sooo good that i couldn't put it down. From the moment Francesca and Sebastian saw each other in the cafe I felt the attraction. I couldn't wait to read the parts of the book when they were together. Tommie got on my nerves and I couldn't wait for Francesca to put her in her place. I also loved the suspense, I never would have guessed who the killer was. All and all this book was excellent!

Another romance suspense set in San Antonio, TX. This story chronicles the budding romance of Francesca and Sebastien. I would recommend reading this one before Like No One Else. The murder mystery was interesting.
Smith does a great deal of research to develop the story line. Good story!

I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. My earliest memory of knowing I had a “literary gift” was as a third grader, when I wrote and illustrated a story about a child who stumbled upon a bird’s nest and decided to nurture the orphaned chickadee until its mother returned. I can’t recall whether the story had a happy ending or not, but my teacher, Mrs. Bennett, w
