Recommends it for: Fans of horror and psychological drama
A powerful collection of dark nightmares from the pen of Erin Cole. The author weaves her way through our deepest fears to touch raw nerves. The horrors of humankind are explored here, from personal demons to psychopaths; Erin equally slips into supernatural realms, introducing the reader to the sensation of becoming a zombie as well as the rites and rivalries of witchcraft.

So far I love it. I will add more to this review as I read more. Of the short stories that I have already read I see where her B.S. in psychology came into play as it allowed her to give interesting, plausible, and flat out scary thought processes of her characters. Nice job Erin Cole!

Witches, zombies, vampires, monsters -- you've seen them all before. But never like this.

Cole excels at taking horror tropes to a whole 'nother level, and this collections includes all manner of surprises. Darkness pervades each tale, as do strong female characters that are often missing in genre fiction, but there are also sparks of black humor that make you chuckle right before you wince.
