Lizzie Morton buys the long abandoned Nichols Funeral Home, one of her life-long dreams coming true. Then one night, a man named Adam Nichols knocks on her door and claims to be the owner of the funeral home. This review is going to be different than my other reviews and shorter because the book is really short.

Today's review is on Antique Charming by Natalie-Nicole Bates
Antique Charming is an extremely short story that didn't allow for much of a story. Seven pages; including the cover, is just not enough! For me those seven pages are but an introduction for a unique love story that I can just see developing. Is this meant to be just that? I don't know.

This very, very short story could have been really great, if it was longer and the author took the time to world and character build more. The story had the potential to be really creepy - it just wasn't long enough. I would really have liked to know more about Lizzie and the mysterious circumstances bringing her to the funeral home. I'd also like to know more about Adam and whether he was a ghost, or what. It would seem it should be obvious - but without the extra background info I couldn't be...more

Natalie-Nicole Bates has created a very unique and spellbinding ghost story short. It immediately drew me in and I felt like I had slipped through the veil into Lizzie's new home, leaving me with a truly spinetingling ending. I look forward to reading more from this very talented author.
I enjoy it when questions go unanswered, for it gives you a reason to read and look forward to more. I am truly left with only what my imagination can create at the end of this story and that is NOT a bad thing....more

Lizzie Morton has just bought the Nichols Funeral Home. The house is everything she's ever dreamed of. She plans to restore it to its former glory, intent on showing her family that she can truly make it on her own.
When a visitor shows up on her doorstep one night, Lizzie wonders if he's made a mistake. Yet she can't deny that the man seems so familiar even though she's never met him till now. Taken aback by the fact that the man reveals his name to be that of Adam Nichols, Lizzie briefly wonde...more

This was an intriguing short story that reads like a prologue to what could be a full length paranormal novel. While it's too short for my taste, this mini-novella shows great potential with fluid writing and an interesting premise. The characters are introduced too briefly to fully connect with, but capture your attention in those few pages nonetheless. It would be great to see this story develop into a full length book and explore the plot and characters on a deeper level. Antique Charming is...more
3 1/2 Stars
I found Antique Charming to be a very refreshing short story. It has a different side to the usual paranormal romance. The characters capture your attention very quickly and the writing is good. I would like to see this story become a full length book because I really got into the story and didn’t want it to end just yet. The story is only a few pages long, but it is exactly what Natalie said it would be: six hours in the life of Lizzie Morton.
Come on Ms Nicole, give us more.

This is a short story, really short, 7 pages in all. But each word is packed with intent. I thought it was a paranormal, vampire story at first. Ethereal creature, tall, and dressed in anonymous black… has to be a vampire right?

This is such a charming little story. The only thing I had a problem with was the shortness of the story, but in saying that it didn't take anything away from the story. I absolutely adore this. The cover art, and the title, suit it really well. There's nothing bad I can say out it. So beautifully written. Definitely deserves 5/5.
This Was a amazing ghost story unlike any other, When Lizzie purchased the long forgotten funneral home to make her dreams come true to be a funeral director she had no idea that one night the ghost of adams nichols was also went along with the funneral home . Until she rellzed strange things as time went on even though it was a very short read it was amazigly good . Natalie Nicole Bates did very good with this antique charming i defintly would recommened even though it is a short read
Too short.
