This is a book about two young people who fall in love in the late 1940s, marry in 1954 only to die on their wedding day. Then are told that they must find each other again in their new life and finish their love. Fast forward some years to Emma trapped in a loveless marriage to a creep of a guy running for political office. Emma attends a wifely responsibility of an auction and runs into a man that is familiar to her and he feels the pull as well... some time passes and they see each other at a...more

Two soul mates meet a tragic end and they won't know peace until they find each other again. A story of reincarnation I guess one might call it - a story of 'eternal love transcending time and all obstacles'.

Yummies: I really liked the idea behind the story & its heart wrenching beginning. I'd have to say the antique picker, James, is my favorite part of the whole story. Oh. And the socialite bitch Olivia runs a close 2nd. While the other two main characters were alright, it was the support...more

I think I'm losing my taste for romance novels. The ones I've read recently have failed to move me.

This novel explores the relationship between Emma and her emotionally abusive husband, Craig. I think what seemed realistic was the relationship between Emma and Craig. It didn't precisely descend into physical abuse (except for the one time when he gripped her hand too hard). There was no marital rape, no beatings, dragging across the floor, etc. Emma, sometimes, gave as good as she got, verbally,...more

Wow, I can't believe so many other readers gave this 4 or 5 stars...

IF (and that's a big IF) you can get past the terrible editing and e-book formatting, the characters, plot and dialogue leave so much to be desired.

The story emerges as somewhat hokey, but sweet- a young couple is killed on their wedding day and arrive in a sort of limbo, with a chance to find each other again through reincarnation.

From there on in, the story is a confusing mix of plot angles and choppy phrasing. I get the gist...more

**Spoiler Alert**

What drew me towards Love Unfinished was the synopsis on Amazon that mentioned reincarnation! I love reincarnation plots!

The beginning of the story was gripping and I felt really sad and touched by the tragedy. The new story began pretty well and I could understand the plight of Emma trapped in a loveless marriage. But I wished Emma was a little more stronger and could use much more impactful words when replying back to Craig and wasn't giving up so easily on the arguments when...more

I really did like this book. The story caught my interest since it talks about an unfinished love ended by the tragic death of a juts married couple while they are going through their honey moon. The couple died, however they get to find each other in another life by separate paths. The woman Emma is married to a wealthy man, Craig who is a lawyer running for senator and the man James who is going to be Emma´s real love, is a business man divorce after his wife cheated on him.

The story get inter...more

I received this novel for review from the author.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I know that from the synopsis many of you might be thinking married woman who likes somebody who is not married. Yikes. However, the book is so much more than that. Yes, I don't like the idea of an extramarital relationship, but this book had a twist. They were meant to be together, and Emma and James were characters I liked. I'm not saying that I think extramarital affairs are good, but...more

“Love Unfinished” as the name suggests is the story of a married woman, Emma and a divorced man, James. Now I know what you are thinking - extra-marital relationships and blah. But hold your horses. You might be missing out on a very interesting twist to it by assuming! At least I was about to and thank God for that!

See, the twist is Emma and James were supposed to be together. Always. And that started few births back! Yes, eternal love! Only they haven’t been able to be together. And in this bi...more

This was a great story. The characters are so real. That Craig was rotten - I loved hating him. Even though I had a hard time understanding why Emma ever cared about Craig, I found myself rooting for her. Her situation is one that many women could identify with. She is very real and at times my heart broke for her.

If you're a sucker for a love story with a sentimental ending then this book is for you.

Beautiful heartwarming story.

LOVE UNFINISHED by DARIAN WILK is a lovely tale of two soul mates finding each other in their current life and the obstacles they face coming together as they were meant to be. If you are a lover of romance like I am, you will thoroughly enjoy this book.

We meet Carol and Ted in the beginning of the book and fall instantly in love with both of them. Unfortunately for the reader, Carol and Ted have a tragic ending. Yep. I cried. Fortunately for the reader, we get to m...more

“Everyone should be so lucky to marry their soul mate”

Love Unfinished starts with Carol and Ted, who later become Emma and James. It starts with the year 1946, when the two had just met, and then skips to 1954, 8 years later to their wedding, which is where everything goes wrong.

Carol and Ted are both sent to different ‘waiting rooms’, separated, awaiting to fulfil their souls destiny, where is how they both end up as Emma and James, put back on earth to find each other and finish their lives to...more

I downloaded this book as a freebie from Amazon.

The blurb for this book describes it as being a story of two people that are killed, then meet again in a different incarnation. This worried me a little, but that theme is so far in the background that it could almost not exist as part of the story other than it is necessary to explain the instant/total/unexplainable attraction between the two main characters. I am a little curious if that was one of the reasons the aspect was added into the plot....more

Love Unfinished is a touching story of eternal love and finding your soul mate against all odds. In the beginning of the book, you meet the main characters as Carol and Ted. A tragic accident on their wedding day ends their lives, but they have not finished their love story. We meet them again as Emma and James. They don't remember their former lives and have barriers to coming together. However, after meeting again in this second life, they have an instant, unexplainable attraction to each othe...more

This book was Amazon top 100 Free. What I like about this book was it had a ending. I know that's how books make money, but I don't always download the next book. Good job Darian Wilk, I will be looking more of your books.

My likes are, Emma and James soul mate love, her friendship with Olivia, Prudence's, and liked the twist with Edward. The author did a good job of making me not like Craig.

Author could have changed a few things. Emma wanting more money, and more time to keep getting more money...more

This was truly one of the best love stories I have read in a long time. It was beautifully written and flowed very well. I really felt what the characters were feeling as I was reading and it moved a few tears a couple of times.

The story begins with the meeting and marriage of Carol and Ted. They were involved in a terrible car accident back in 1954 which took both of their lives. This of course is the unfinished love that will hopefully be fulfilled by Emma and James. Emma is stuck in an unhapp...more

*Evokes a Wide Range of Emotions*

This is a story that explains love at first sight. Have a hankie ready for the tragedy at the first of the book. It’s emotional and real, but absolutely necessary for the rest of the story. The scene afterwards was a good buffer and I knew I was in good hands for this sentimental ride.

Wilk pulls off drama so realistically with much of the story being told through dialogue, which I like. Her word choices show easy to picture character reactions, like having one of...more

It was a rainy day and I needed a good book, and I couldn't have picked a better one that Darian Wilk's "Love Unfinished". It had a little bit of everything in it--love, revenge, humor, paranormal, sarcasm...it was a a quick, good read. The characters were well developed. Olivia reminded me a bit of one of Bravo's "The Housewives of...", but Emma, the main character, seemed more like someone you lived next door to. The story is a love story about two people trying to find their way to each other...more

At first reading this book I was saying to myself "how am I going to get into the "old fashioned life" mind while reading. I was not into it what so ever. But me being desperate to read a book while at work I decided to keep reading. As I kept turning pages the book got interesting. It had me nervous, shaking, on edge, wondering what was going to happen next. I was smiling and my min played tricks on me too. I thought I knew what was going to happen when something did happen but as I kept turnin...more

I received this book free from amazon. I was interested in the description, but honestly thought I would find it cheesy. However, my feelings are quite the opposite.

It's a story of true love lost and found. This story takes one to a place of possibilities in life after death with our true loves, and how our rocky paths should not be looked down upon because it brought us to our happiness we longed for and deserved. As our wedding song stated as I walked down the aisle almost three years ago, "G...more

If you are looking for a sweet romance with a touch of 'Lifetime' movie moment, this is the book for you :)

To be honest, I had put off my review for this book for about a month now - I liked the story, the writing was good, it moved along at a very good pace... but I still feel like there was something missing - and I do not know how to put that feeling into typed words here, sigh...

The story starts with sweethearts, Carol and Ted, how they met, fall in love and then die tragically together on...more

Difficult to read at times. Really doesn't make sense why an intelligent woman would stay with someone who abuses her just for money. But I guess if she didn't, there would be no story. The beginning and middle (which cover a couple months) are long and drawn out, and the end just rushes through an entire lifetime in a matter of pages. Seems like there was a page limit the author had because the end just doesn't flow with the rest. It was alright for a free book.

I wanted to like this more than I did. The premise was good, but I ended up getting frustrated with decisions made by the main character, and the fact there were too many secondary characters who seemed to know exactly what was going on.

It was an easy read, and a harmless way of spending a few hours, but I left feeling like much of the story was a missed opportunity.

this one is a hard one for me. I liked it in many ways. I feel the author sold the first part of the story short. there should have been more charachter development of the first couple so the reader could identify with them more and have more compassion for them. The story was a bit choppy but in the end the author made me cry with the reuniting of a love lost too soon 3 1/2 stars for me

I recently started watching ABC's new show Revenge and while I was waiting for the next episode to air, I picked up Darian Wilk's "Love Unfinished". What a good choice I made! This book reminds me so much of that show! The billionare lifestyle, the forbidden love and of course the possibility of revenge! "Love Unfinished" is the first indie book I have ever read, and if they are all as good as this one, it definitely won't be my last.

Absolutely wonderful book. A story of unfinished love and reincarnation that brought two souls back together. Throw in danger and good friends and this book is irresistible. Still have tears in my eyes. I look forward to reading this again and again.
Kristi
I think the concept behind this book was a very good one and I love the story but I feel the same as others who have reviewed this, it leaves out a lot and seems to jump time without telling you. Again, the story was very good, very sweet but there was too much left out.
Shelly
I liked the idea behind this story, but wasn't interested in the delivery. The story had a slow feel that skimmed the surface with character development and plot. It is or was free on Amazon if you want to give it a try.

Quick read. Nice thought on finding your soulmate. Needed more imo: more character development, relationship development (friends, etc.,), just more. Kind felt like reading an outline of a story as opposed to full novel.

I'm a women's fiction author, and my current titles include Love Unfinished and Reinventing Claire. I love the challenge and thrill of putting words onto paper, and forming it into a story. For me, the only thing better than that are my kids.

On the occasions I'm not engulfed in writing you'll find me reading a book, either for fun or for review on my blog, Crazy Lady with a Pen. When I'm not readi...more
