Wow! This book makes me completely out of myself.
It’s a great story very well developed with no missing thing.
It is about George (short from Georgina) 34 years old caterer, a very successful and promising. She lives a coy life without relationships and she so dedicated to her caterer firm. George have employee Helen, who is her friend too.
Helen is a modest woman, quite and dedicated to her work.
Helen’s daughter Marisa is young girl, very hilarious and chatty. I have to admit I laugh so much to M...more

I am always very honest in my book reviews and any of you who have read my previous reviews on Mandy Baggot’s books will know I always seem to be surprised how much I enjoy them as I never liked the front cover of the books. Well this time I am giving Mandy Baggot a big sloppy kiss as this time she has given her book the cover it deserves! I have also been told that Mandy Baggot’s previous novels have had the covers updated and I have had a sneaky peek and they all look great.

The chemistry Baggo...more

Tomboy George Fraser owns her own successful catering company Finger Foods which is running along nicely, as is her uncomplicated lifestyle, that is until she is offered the job of a lifetime – catering for the after show parties for Rock God Quinn Blake. This is not only a turning point in her professional career but a massive turning point for her private life too.

The sensible, cultivated and pragmatic side of George tells her not to become involved with Quinn but her heart, the person she has...more

I've said this lots of times, but I'm going to say it again. I just love chick lit books and stories about rockstars.
George Fraser has her own catering company Finger Foods, of which she's very proud of. Yes, George is a female, and that's short for Georgina.
She's a 34 year old woman, very mature and organized, but I guess life taught her to be that way. Everything in her life changes one day when she's offered to cater for Quinn Blake's after show party. Quinn is surely an outstanding specimen...more

When this book came in my email box (I adopted this author, sight unseen for Adopt An Indie month), I really didn't know much about it. I knew it was chick lit and the cover looked cool (yeah, I know, but I at least admit that I judge books by their covers!). So, I went into this without any real preconceived notions.

The writing is supremely clean and polished. It flows nicely and was obviously very well edited. The author does an exceptional job of giving each character their own "voice" so tha...more

George Fraser is owner of her own catering company Finger Foods. She is doing well despite being the black sheep of the family, according to her mother.

Mandy Baggot is a self-published author and one I’ve tried a couple of times before. I wasn’t such a big fan of the two books I read, mainly due to them being a bit overlong for me, but after seeing the cover for her latest book Strings Attached, I really wanted to read it. Yup, I wanted to read a book because I really liked its cover. Always a fabulous reason to read a book, I’ll have you know. It became available for Kindle at the end of September so I downloaded it as soon as I could and deci...more

As always I love to read a story that includes a rock star. This lived up to my expectations and then some. George is a woman trying to move on from her past of being a reckless youth and manages to build up her catering business now that she is an independent woman. She appeals instantly. She is surrounded by some clever characters and finds herself falling in love no less with a rock star. Some unexpected secrets that affects not only her new found love but her future. So many twists in this s...more

Another outstanding novel from one of my favorite author’s, whose work never ceases to amaze!

If I could give this book more than a five star rating I would as it is by far the best chick-lit novel that I have read this year, and one that I cannot enthuse about enough. Full of intense passion and fast-paced drama, suspense and unexpected twists in the tale that literally made me fall off my chair in shock. With its own unique playlist of music to listen whilst you’re reading, this treat should b...more

Quinn got up from his chair and took hold of her hand, putting it to his chest.
“I’m yours George, you should know that.”
“You were never mine, not really. You were only ever on loan.”

Before I begin, I should clarify that the H/h names are Quinn & George (short for Georgina). I admit I had a little bit of difficulty adjusting to the heroine’s name, but oh well. Anyway, I decided to pick this up simply because I love books with rock star/celebrity Heroes; so you know I couldn’t pass...more

I bought this book at a signing in Southampton Waterstones, it was lovely to meet Mandy in person and I was excited to get this book because I had heard good things about it.

Pretty much as soon as I started reading I was hooked, it was one of those books that makes you want to know more so I ended up in the situation where I kept saying ‘just one more page’. George lives in Basingstoke which isn’t far from where I live so I also liked the local element of it.

The story is told from George’s and Q...more

George Frasier isn't your average woman. For one, she started her own business, Finger Food, from the ground up and have been steadily making a name for herself in the catering community. Yet, foodie success aside, there's a lot more to George than her business acumen. She's also a feisty beer-drinker, who's masochistic approach to repression and inherent ability to speak her mind make her an interesting character from page one.

She's had a bunch of tough breaks. Her heart is broken by the fabulo...more

No spoilers.

This was a nice read. I enjoyed it, the storyline was sweet, and the characters were too. Mentioning my favorite singer on the first page wasn't too shabby either.

Editing was very good also.

Remove a star if you hate when the plot is especially flimsy or obvious early in the story. Otherwise, the story moves quickly with a nice mix of romance, sex, and humor.
Tracy
Really good book with so many twist an turns watch it you could get whip lash.

Man I hope there is a sequel !
Valentina
3.5/4 stars. I didn't like it as much as "taking charge" but it is a good reading, I like her style and the characters.
Hannah Lindsey Smith
Beyond the realms of believability but enjoyable none the less
Ann (Noumena12)
Enjoyed the story...but you could see the twists coming...
