Emma Holly, how I love thee ways...... *Whew* "Hidden Depths" is part of Emma's steamy paranormal "Hidden" series and wow... Does it ever live up to Emma's other works of literary art!! In this novel, Emma introduces us to the wereseals, which are a bit of an unusual species, even for my paranormal loving genes, but she does it with flair & had me instantly addicted to this new world... The wereseals live in Oceana, which is a part of her Fae created world that includes the city of Resurrect...more

Love, love, love Emma Holly!!!

I'm not usually into the fantasy stuff, but Emma Holly can take me anywhere! I was entranced by Anso, Ty, James, and Olivia. It was interesting to see the various dynamics, especially with James and Olivia being an "old married" couple.

The world of Oceana is fantastic, and yet it mirrors enough of "our world" that it's not completely foreign. The concept of free sexuality and royal princes/kings only being able to have sex with women who are their mates... it seems...more

If a reader is looking for a happy ever after that leaves scorch marks on the sheets, flushed cheeks and fluttering heartbeats, then this latest sensual adventure by Ms. Holly is sure to please. The title, Hidden Depths, has a subtext to it that my brain appreciated. I believe it refers to where the action takes place and what is hidden in the hearts of the initial two main protagonists, Olivia and James. Later on, it delves into the...more

The fae have created a pocket between our world and theirs where magic can exist. We were introduced to part of that pocket in Hidden Talents where we met the hunky werewolves of the Resurrection Police Dept. (Whom I hope we shall revisit sometime soon please). In Hidden Depths we meet the were-seals of Oceana.

The king is dead long live the king. The new King Anso of Oceana is hit hard with the mating heat and takes his lover Ty and two guards to search for his mate. Much to his dismay he finds...more

I love Emma Holly. I'm a huge fan of EPNR and Ms. Holly manages to take hotness to a new level in her books. They don't call her the Queen of erotic romance for nothing. If I based this book on the smex alone it would've been a 5 star read for me as it was pure smuttacular goodness.

I liked the world dealing with the wereseals in Oceana but would've much rather been back with the werewolves in Resurrection. Don't get me wrong, I liked Olivia, James, Anso, and Ty I just would've rather been on dr...more

Emma Holly is the Queen of erotic romance! She blends hot sex and emotional feelings better than just about anyone. The story she pens in Hidden Depths was the perfect blend of both.

Shortly after the death of his father, the king of the wereseals, Anso feels the undeniable call to find his mate. Taking his lover Ty and two other guards he sets out to find her. What he finds is his true blood mate lying on a beach asleep in the arms of another man, but it’s not just any man it’s her husband. Orde...more

Crazy story (to me, these shape-shifter fantasy stories are fairly new) about about a couple married 20 years who get kidnapped by a couple of seal-men with huge phalluses who are horny as hell. The husband figures out he's bi-sexual, and the lead seal-man falls in love, hard, with the wife. There's a second seal-man just to round things out, and make the husband not feel left out while the main seal bangs his wife into kinky oblivion. Somehow it all works out.

The scenes are pretty hot, but I gu...more

Hidden Depths is an intriguing paranormal story with a diverse group of paranormal creatures written by the Queen of Steam, Emma Holly. It focuses of the unique world of the wereseals, a world full of magic and mythological creatures. Their world has some similarities to ours and is ruled by royalty.

Into this magical world, the Forsters' are thrown. And with a marriage that was looking for a little something to spice it up, they get more than they expected. James and Olivia are extremely loving...more

Second in the Hidden erotic paranormal romance series. The couple, well, the foursome, focus is on James and Olivia Forster kidnapped by the king and his friend.

My Take
It's an interesting twist on submission with the man being the submissive this time. I had been expecting the werewolves and other shifters from Resurrection in upper New York state, so the beginning of this one was a surprise and it took a bit before the disconnect left.

It starts with an introduction to James and Olivia Forster w...more

How I got this book: From the author

Wow! Times 4! 4 amazing characters & I loved all of them. James was the sweetheart husband - strong, sexy, & totally in love with Olivia. Olivia was also strong, knew what she wanted, and was nice to everybody without being fake. Anso is the king who is in love with his best friend, Ty, and now his mate, Olivia. Ty is the sexy best friend who seems hard on the outside but is a sweetie on the inside. The question is can Holly pull off writing a book with tons of steamy sex with 4 people a...more

The sex scenes were really good in this but I think I need to go back and read the first one. There was a section with a lot of backstory in the dialogue that I didn't think was right. I wish I'd known there was another one! I will definitely be reading more Emma Holly because the erotica was of a very high quality.

I don't know what to say..it was good but different. Not really into the the whole "fantasy" thing with underwater life and fairies and such but I honestly enjoyed the book. Again you have to be very open to the different sexual preferences and choices in life people choose. If you aren't this book isn't for you
Bev
Very disappointed with this effort. Obviously pushed out by the author and publishers in much the same way that Sherrilyn Kenyon's books are, and have gone right down the pan. Don't waste your money.

Not bad. For some reason it didn't enthrall me like her books usually do. I finished it, but it was mostly just OK. That may well be due to my own head and where I read it rather than her book.

I wasn't sure about this book...by Chapter 2 EH had me hooked. I kept saying "where is EH going with these characters and story line? I don't read much fantasy and sci-fi ~ I gotta have Vamps, Werewolves, demons, and shape shifters..This book had Wereseals!! I loved the book.
Pam
Couldn't make myself finish it...weirdest story ever, wereseals with retractable genitalia, cheesy sex scenes...I gave up at 30% in. I usually love Emma Holly, but this was a no-go for me.

Emma Holly crafts and weaves an unusual combination of seemingly impossible circumstances into the most captivating and titillating story I have read in some time. She delves deep into the human psyche to explore taboos then turns them on their ears. She creates complex but likable characters with flaws and complementary strengths. And it works. She pulls off this seemingly impossible combination of characters and storylines creating a universe in which it all seems perfectly normal. In the end,...more

I expected to feel sorry for the (original) husband, but it all (naturally) worked out for the best in the end!

I bought this one from Kobo.

Anso’s best friend and male lover Ty offers to help him find the human mate his genes are seeking. Anso’s quest leads him claim not one partner but a pair. The foresters already have been married for years and have a grown daughter there love is obvious why complicate something so perfect unless done right in my opinion it wasn't. I didn't find this book hot at all there was know true fore-some scenes that i read which if you've ever read a Emma holly book she's never been shy about just read th...more

I don't know if it was supposed to, but this book thoroughly amused me. Not that it didn't have heart -- it did. And dealt with some interesting issues with exploring sexuality. But were seals?? And that wasn`t really the funny part.... I think the unicorn topped it off for me. Saying all that, I thoroughly enjoyed it....though it might not be everyone`s tastes.

Emma Holly has never disappointed me. This was another great read. MFMM shapeshifter/ fantasy menage set in an underwater world that parallels our own. I loved the relationship between all the players. Holly does a great job with both world and relationship building along with delivering sizzling hot scenes that leave you begging for more.

I'm a USA Today bestselling author who LOVES the hot stuff, both to read and to write. My favorite obsessions are all things coffee, almost everything on HGTV, and dreaming up new stories.
