الكتاب من نوعية الكتب التي تأخذ موقفاً سلبياً من العولمة كما تريدها الليبرالية الجديدة بقيادة الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا الغربية, وجزء كبير من إعجابي بهذا الكتاب والكتب الشبيهة يعود إلى أنني أتخذ نفس الموقف الفكري من العولمة ولذا فإن جزء كبير من تقديري للكتاب قد يرجع لأسباب شخصية وغير موضوعية.

أبرز نقاط الكتاب :

قصر مفهوم الحرية على الحرية الفردية وتجاهل الحريات الجماعية كالحرية الثقافية - أي حرية جماعة من الأفراد أن تعيش وفق لنظم وقيم معينة - أمر يضر بحقيقة الديموقراطية.
