I was really looking forward to the second installment in this series, and I was not disappointed! Sweet, romantic, and extremely steamy, this story moved the overall plot of the series along but kept the main story centered around the relationship between Ethan and Tayla. The author did a great job of subtlety reminding us of prior events so you can follow the continuing storyline. Another winner in this enjoyable series. Even though these are shorts, you get a real feel for the characters and there is enough substance that it propels the story forward. Ethan and Tayla were a delightful couple, who after 12 years of longing for one another, are finally able to act on their feelings. As her essence continued to call to him he could barely keep his desire for her contained, and ultimately they burned up the pages. Such devilish angels…YUM! Since I read both of these back to back, I had the previous novella’s plot fresh in my mind. However, if you are reading these out of order or it has been a while since you read the first one you don’t need to worry. Rosalie does an excellent job of filling the reader in on what has already transpired and how they mythology in this world works, so you need not worry.

So in this novella, the main couple already know each other. Actually, Tayla has known and had a crush on Ethan since she was six....more Since I read both of these back to back, I had the previous novella’s plot fresh in my mind. Rosalie does an excellent job of filling the reader in on what has already transpired and how they mythology in this world works, so you need not worry.

So in this novella, the main couple already know each other. Actually, Tayla has known and had a crush on Ethan since she was six. She told him as much once, when she was sixteen, but she was harshly refused by Ethan and has been devastated by the rejection ever since. Her father was also killed in the same fire that almost claimed Ethan’s life and Tayla blames Ethan for his death. Ethan on the other hand, has always known Tayla was meant for him, but she was so young when she first revealed her feelings to him and he felt wrong about acting on those feelings. There is another reason that you are going to have to read more to learn about that kept him from being with her which shocked myself and Tayla. Ethan has lived with the guilt of not being able to save her father and his feelings for her that he thought were inappropriate for a long time. But now, he is done denying how he feels and is ready to convince Tayla that they belong together. Theirs is not going to be an easy courtship, but that only made the story that much more interesting.

One of the elements I have really enjoyed about these stories is that I always want more. You can tell that Rosalie could easily take the material she gives the reader and turn it into a full length novel. There are so many side plots and conflicts that could take more time, but we only get to break the surface of them because of the length of the book. I guess this is an up and a down because I want to learn more, but sometimes it is nice just to get the backbone of the story and not worry with all the distracting details. We get to focus on Tayla and Ethan as they learn that they have always needed each other and watching them grow to love one other was very sweet.

There was a little more action in this one than in the previous novella, but it is clear that Rosalie is still building up to the big showdown. I am sure we are going to see a couple more angels mated before that happens. Actually, one was hinted at already and I am hoping that will be the next novella because it sounds very interesting.

Overall, I am still enjoying this series and look forward to the next one. They are fun, fast, hot reads that I am sure any lover of paranormal romance would enjoy.

First let me say - if you haven't read the first book in this series "For Love of an Angel", go check it out. These books can be read as stand alone books, but you will understand the history of the fallen much better if you start with the first one. Besides that, it is an excellent book that you won't want to miss.

I love this series. I fell in love with The Fallen in the first book, and the second in the series did not disappoint. In the first book we got a glimpse of Ethan and Tayla's story, but just enough to be intriguing. Now, we get to witness the rest of their story unfold, with insight into their history as well.

I love how Ms. Lario manages to write sexy, dominant men without making them dominate the women. And the women in these books hold their own. They are strong, independent, capable women that choose to stay with their men. The men also come across as sensitive without losing any of their masculinity. It's a fantastic blend that isn't always easily (or successfully) pulled off, but this author does it well.

Tayla is hindered by events, and beliefs, from her past but is a strong enough person to understand this about herself and try to look past it. Ethan is a gentle guy that cares deeply for Tayla and is confident enough to give her the space she needs to work it out on her own. Both are fantastic characters.

We get some more detail in this book about the events that led to The Fallen becoming what they are. We also get to see a bit more about what the (so-called) good angels are planning for the humans and we get an actual encounter with one. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, how the fallen will defeat them or convince the human population of what's going on. It's not easy to convince people that they are wrong, especially about things they've believed to be true for years, or even generations. They have their work cut out for them.

It's very interesting how the book manages to convey the concept of how the good or the bad is all a matter of perception. Whether or not that was the author's intent, it is there and it is very well done. It's a subtle reminder that you can't judge a person by appearance (or public opinion) alone.

Throughout the book, we get to see more of the cave that The Fallen live in, which is amazing, we get to see more of Michael and Eva (from Book One) and more of the other Fallen. I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens next, and who we get to learn more about. Personally, I'm voting for Seth. If you haven't checked out this series yet, you're really missing out and I highly recommend you do so immediately. It's a quick, entertaining read and it will hook you and reel you in. Enjoy!(less)

Book 2 in the Fallen Warriors series

Grown up now, and with plenty of misconceptions regarding Ethan’s role in her father’s death, Tayla is not going to give her heart to Ethan again for him to turn around and break it like he did all those years ago. I liked the couple well enough – I could definitely feel the drama and conflict, even if I wasn’t sure I understood it (this book seemed guilty of the big-misconception-that-was-cleared-up-with-one-conversation-but-has-kept-us-apart-for-years ploy). Ethan was sexy, playful, and dark. I liked, of course, how handsome and adorably boyish he was. He also had some really great lines (as witnessed in my favorite quotes portion) and was incredibly romantic at times – in that angst-y hero way. *Fans self* Ethan really brings the heat, and the sexual tension was overwhelming in a good way. As for the heroine, Tayla, I was occasionally annoyed by her because she seemed overly dramatic and pig-headed, but I was still able to empathize with her. At the end, when she finally gets herself out of her me-me-me rut, she was endearing and sweet. I was charmed by Tayla and Ethan's interactions at the end, and wished them the happiest happy-ever-after there could be.

The plot in the novella was fast-paced but enjoyable. The ending, with it’s last big conflict, left me slightly breathless with anticipation and I wish I’d had a little bit of a better explanation about how it all went down – it was over too quickly for me to truly savor the suspense aspect. The majority of the book serves to further the ‘big-show-down’ plot that runs through the series, as we wait on the edge of our seats for our Fallen Warriors to save the world from their angelic (or not) counterparts. I’m very excited to see how this pans out through the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see this super-team at work!

There’s some excellent world-building, although there are a few loopholes that could bother you depending on how attuned you are to the exact reality of humanity. For example, the suspicious nature of humanity is neglected completely, however the length of the novella would have to be increased considerably were we to account for the reality of human behavior and aspiration for conspiracy. These loopholes didn’t bother me too much, and with some truly fun characters and an interesting story-line I was suitably impressed by Lario’s second novella in her Fallen Warrior series, and am definitely looking forward to the third – I can’t wait to see the rest of the absolutely adorable Fallen fall again – this time in love.

I really like this series! In this book, we get to meet Tayla. She is another nephilim who actually knew her angel father, until he died when she was 16 years old. Ethan was his best friend and was with him when he died and Tayla has always blamed Ethan for not saving him. At 16, she had a huge crush on Ethan and he felt the same draw to her, but she was too young for him, so he stayed away. I really like this series! In this book, we get to meet Tayla. She is another nephilim who actually knew her angel father, until he died when she was 16 years old. Ethan was his best friend and was with him when he died and Tayla has always blamed Ethan for not saving him. At 16, she had a huge crush on Ethan and he felt the same draw to her, but she was too young for him, so he stayed away. Now it's 10 years later and Ethan is ready to move on Tayla and make her his mate. He just has to gain her trust again after his abandonment of her on top of her father's death.

This book took a step further into this fabulous world that Rosalie Lario has created. See the review for Book #1, For Love of an Angel, for more about the basics of the world. I really liked both Ethan & Tayla, although I don't understand why either of them was so stubborn about letting the other know their feelings (although without that, it probably wouldn't have been much of a story...hehe.) Things are ramping up as far as the overall story arc and I think that it's going to be fun to watch the story evolve. This book had a bit more action than the first and I think that is also going to increase throughout the series, as the showdown between the angels gets closer. I also really loved that we got to see a good bit of Eva in this book (heroine from book #1.)

These books are short reads...about a third of the size of a normal novel, but they don't seem to be lacking at all. The stories are fabulous, the characters well-developed, and the romance is sizzling. The world that Rosalie has created is amazing. I am still in love with the cave where they all live. I want to go live there. Of course, the fact that there are 10 super-sexy male angels (the other 2 are female) that wander around all the time shirtless (shirts get in the way of their wings when they need them suddenly) makes the cave dwelling pretty alluring too. There are twelve Fallen angels (10 males, 2 females) and I am assuming that we will get to see all their HEA's. It's going to be a fun series.(less)

This was a little better than book 1.. our sweet and sexy angel had to work a little more to get the girl.... just a little. Miss Lario has something here... the storyline is great but I do believe this could have been a 4-5 star if featured in a full length novel.

Okay, I have to say this book was way too short even for a short story. I love whole aspect of angels taking over humankind and all but it isn't really being focused on as much as I would like it to! The romance is great and the characters are fantastic but their is no action there to keep me glued to the edge of my seat. LOVED IT!!!!

I was really looking forward to reading this book after reading the first of the series and I gotta say I definitely wasn't disappointed ... There were a couple of things about Tayla that I didn't really like but they weren't huge issues.... I found Tayla being half angel herself an interesting aspect to the book... it an definitely stand on it's own but I suggest reading book one just to catch up.... Loved this book. It was far too short though. Ethan is one hot Angel and Tayla? well she annoyed me a little but, she finally came around! I would have loved a longer story with them, their sex scenes were hot and passionate and it was just getting good when the book ended. Still definitely worth the read!
